    One of the all-time great DCI charts.
    On a slightly sour note, not everything needs to be taken up an octave.

      @@UbuntuBanksie What's cancer, my comment about the all-time great charts, or a trumpet playing up an octave, out of tune?

      @@voiceofreason9238 Agreed, trumpet player was tryna ruin it. Mellos are the star of that tune. Low brass is the balls. Trumpets are just the cherry on top.

      Over the years, a lot of these final "power" chords will indeed have a couple of players bump the top note up or at least fill out the root at the top, plus drop the bottom down as well to solidify that final harmonic statement. But, they are usually so well placed and executed that you'd never notice any clams. Just an arranging thing for that extra little final kick.

      @@N8TheSnake They were asked to do that. It worked well on the field, a one time crack happens every once in a while.

    I would love to hear this group on bugles. The 83 version was more powerful.

    Who Suggested that Nelson Chart in '82 & '83 ? Hopkins ? Jim Prime ? Other ?

    • @ImVee10
      @ImVee10 2 года назад +5

      According to Program Coordinator Mike Cesario, Jim Prime, Jr. called him and asked if he knew the tune. Mike: “I know it, and I love it.” That began their new identity as the “all-American sound.”
