    I find things are taking me 2-3x's longer than my planned blocks. So, I keep going, past the block, then next thing I know? It's been three days lol and the things is not done. 😵‍💫 Additionally, what used to take me maybe an hour; now takes me days. lol I'll try some of your tips! Thank you!

      You're not alone! Things taking at least twice as long as I originally planned has been something I've struggled with for years! I'm trying to add this time into my planning now-however long I think it's going to take, I then times it by 1.5 or even 2 in the planning stage. It helps!

    True Crime! I'm therel--I'll bring popcorn! Thank you for this! I'm productive, but because I brute force it. Zones are a fabulous idea. I immediately identified my green as mornings. Def my peak energy time.

      Haha, yes, bring the popcorn! I've been binging everything about cults lately. 😱 I'm a morning green zone as well. Afternoons are a major red zone!

    Thank you for the video Rachel that was magnificent information (I'm going to watch it again when I get the chance). I am a fictional author & I work from home but I do walk every morning (approx. 40 minutes) & I do Qi Gong exercises (approx. 45 minutes). I admit on a few occasions get off-balanced and it can affect me when I am working on novels. Been trying to balance everything. 💞

      Balancing everything can be HARD! But it sounds like you have some excellent ways to keep life balanced. Qi Gong sounds like a really peaceful way to move the body; I'll have to give it a try sometimes!

    I recently went through a traumatic brain injury, and these tips are helpful. My personal life and work life have changed dramatically this last month. I can no longer afford to be disorganized or multi-task. Thank you for the video (I promise no one noticed the mascara in the last video). Love you!

      That sounds like a pretty big change; I hope you're coping well and I'm glad you found the tips helpful. Which one did you find the most helpful? (And thank you for not noticing the mascara!!)

      @@RachelHarrisonSund I ALWAYS recommend a house cleaner if you can afford it (even if it's only once a month!). It de-escalates friction in marriages. Multi-tasking in real life just doesn't work. The two of your tips are the time audit and color coding the zones (green, yellow, red). It turns out I really only have 90 minutes of green zone work A day! The whole meal planning, shopping thing is trying for me. I'd pay for YOUR grocery list and meal planning schedule;)

    Which meal kit do you get and what meal planning app did you use?

    • @RachelHarrisonSund
      @RachelHarrisonSund  8 месяцев назад

      I use Hello Fresh. I've also tried Good Food, which was also great. I never used a meal planning app-I would plan out the meals on a notepad and then just create saved shopping lists in my grocery store's online ordering app.

      I was wondering who might comment on that! It was fantastic! Never quite got into comic books (beyond Archie, lol), but I love a good graphic novel. Any recommendations? :)

    I love your tip about only checking social media, email, etc ONCE. I know that's an efficient way to do things, but subconsciously I find myself checking it more than once. (You were in my head just now though and stopped me from checking haha).
    A few years ago, I tried time blocking. But I struggled with a task taking too little or too much time. Now, I will "gamify" my tasks that day (like see how much I can get done in an hour), which seems to work. Probably the same thing, but works better for my brain.
    I feel like doing less also helps. I purposely have a smaller planner and each day doesn't have a lot of room for tasks. Some days I want to do more, and I put those on another "Thoughts" list. In many instances when I revisit that list later, I realize it really doesn't need to get done. But at the time, it feels really good to have that thought out of my brain and written down.
    Keep up the great work with these videos. I absolutely LOVE them.

      Kelliiiiiiiiiiii! Hi! I love the idea of gamifying tasks; I feel like that's a brilliant idea for certain brains. I love the idea of a thoughts list. I have one of those too and it helps separate the longer list of to-dos from the shorter, prioritized list. Thanks for watching; it means a LOT!!!

    This is helpful. My main goal right now is finding a routine that works for this season of life with many different things I am responsible for. I am wasting a lot of time not having a good routine figured out, so I need to get that in order more. I think I need to do a time audit, or maybe just create a schedule that I keep tweaking daily for the next couple of months.
    My best time saver has been making sure to cut out as much from my schedule as I can.

    • @RachelHarrisonSund
      @RachelHarrisonSund  9 месяцев назад +1

      Great point; the season of life really matters!! It can be so hard coming up with a solid routine when things get thrown off kilter on a regular basis. I felt like I couldn't use deadlines at all when my kids were super small because someone was always home sick or some other wrench would be thrown into my day. We do what we can and make it work!

      @yiskahrose1474 9 месяцев назад

      @@RachelHarrisonSund Yes, it's helpful for me to remember that seasons change. There are reasons this past year has been all over the map, associated with a health challenge in the family, so now it's time to recalibrate and make getting back into a more regular routine a priority. Thanks for your input! 🙂

      @@RachelHarrisonSund Thanks! The time audit spreadsheet, & stopping at 90% - that's a hard one bc the last thing I would have thot to do was stop at 90% lol. I think oh! I'll keep going. I can do this now. *enter burnout here 🥵lol
