Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to reset the Oil Light, Service Light on Smart Fortwo Car. We demonstrated on a 2008 Model Smart Passion For Two. If you have the annoying service wrench light with the mileage that reminds you ot change your oil but you already changed the oil then this procedure should help you get rid off the oil service light.

None of the RUclips videos worked for me. You have to have your hand ready at the left button and do this very quickly. Key to position 2 quick press left button twice turn key off press and hold left button and turn key to position 2 and hold until it changes to 10000 miles, keep holding until the actual mileage displays again. Done!

Did an oil change. I have reset the oil maintenance light on my 2012 Smart Car low-end model without power windows. Has 45,000 miles. Has no wrenches now. Did it like this video and numerous posts show it. However, I don't see 10,000 miles pop up.
I did have a TPMS showing a low tire. Driving down the road it was flashing on dash a TPMS and a -26 DAYS. I did the reset and filled the tires. The owner was running 30 in all four. Rear needs 36. The TPMS reset before even driving and the -26 DAYS was gone.
However, the -26 DAYS comes on when you key on to start. Pushing the button on end of light stalk makes it go away and while driving it does not come back. Just ever restart.
I as owner. He says when the dealer resets it says 30 DAYS with no - on it. He thinks and once it got to the month warning for oil change, it had counted down to 0 and now was up to -26 DAYS.
Little confused have I not gone far enough in the reset. Any thought on this 26-DAYS display.

1. Place Key in ignition starter in center console on “•” position (engine off).
2. Turn key all the way to || position (start the vehicle.)
3. Within one second press the left button twice THEN turn the key back to position “•” (key in, ignition off, no charging)
4. Now hold the left button then turn the key to position || (this will start the vehicle).
5. Hold the left button until your value is reset.
NOTE: you must hold for longer than three seconds.

Hi I have a 2008 smart care for 2 I see how to reset the oil milage. Is there any way to set it from 10,000 to another milage. I love in Nevada US we change at 7,000 I honestly don't know how to check what my milage renewal is set at now. Do you have any other vids about oil milage reset how to change the milage when I get my oil change in just a couple weeks? Thank you.

Did not work on my 2013 Smart Fortwo. The lights never flash to show 10,000 miles. I've watched a lot of different links all showing the same procedure. It j7st doesn't work.

OMG Thank you! I have a 2012 Smart Car and haven't been able to find any instructions on how to reset that damned thing anywhere until I found this video. Jesus Christ I hate these little piece of shit cars. Can't wait to be rid of it. I'll never own another European vehicle again.
Smart are misterius car no maintenance manuals the owner manual don give to you any information only IT IS SPECIAL CAR???? I have one and was the bigger mistake I did in cars matters
