Do you really understand the "I missed you so much"? Kate survived the island, she probably lived a long life and grew old, and after those many decades, she finally met Jack again. This is beautiful.
At first I was sad for Jack, that she got to live a lot more than he did, but then of course I realize that It really doesn't matter. I don't think it matters when you die, it's what you do with your life at the moment.
Jack was the "last" to awaken because he held on to so much. Saving everyone, helping Claire, making amends to John, protecting the Island, having that family, being the father his own dad never was. In that sideways reality, it's like a dream, that's why there's "no NOW here" as Christian said. Jack is the last to both remember and to let go of all that he wished to "correct" about his life. It's a powerful character narrative. I know many were disappointed with the Island mysteries aspect, but from a character arc standpoint, LOST continues to be a tour de force.
@@houdahy Finally someone said it. Everyone likes Sawyer and Kate because of their sexual chemistry. But in real life how does only that make for a happy relationship? Someone answer that question. And it was incredibly obvious that Kate was using Sawyer.
11 years later and I still miss every one of them like they're my own family. I don't think any other show had its viewers invested in its characters to such a level. And yes, I absolutely loved the ending and cried my eyes out for a good half hour afterwards.
Same here man ,.... same here ... there is a parallels in your own life ... just keep watching out for the synchronisities.... ammm just wait and see .
"No....that's not how you know me" "I've missed you sooo much" Two lines that perfectly convey exactly what Kate is feeling in this moment. Fantastic acting by Evangeline Lily.
man is kills me that this show is over, such an experience and such an emotional connection with the characters that I'v never felt with anything on tv or film before. Just reminiscing on this show breaks my heart. Bravo!
I know the feeling mate.I have watched every single episode, and at the end of it all, when I reached the end of the series, I felt overcome with grief, not because of the events that had happened in the show, but because I would no longer see any of them anymore. Sure, I could watch reruns, but it wouldn't be the same, it's a similar feeling as I remember feeling when a family member had died, even though it's irrational an illogical because, well, they're fictional characters. Apparently, i get too easily emotionally attached to fictional characters.
You and me both my man, the sadness piles on when I think how good my life was while I was watching this show, I watched it all in a space of like 4 weeks, I was with a girl who looked like Kate so I was on cloud 9 and when the show ended everything came crumbling down haha we'll never find a show like this again and I wish I could relive it to be honest Kostas Xronhs
Yeah, i wish i could go back in time and rewatch it. Back in the day,I and a couple of friends would get together at my House and binge watching it for hours on end.As i said i get easily attached to fictional characfters and I often times don't realize it until after I snap out of it, whether it be the end of an episode or they say something that doesn't make any sense, but as I watch TV everything around me seems to fade and it's as if I were there, with the characters, invisible, of course and unable to do anything or interact with the episode. Whenever I do snap out of it, I feel embarrass as if I'm obsessed, but I don't find what I do obsessive. I laugh with the characters, cry with the characters, and for reasons I can't really explain, whenever I see the actors of these characters doing interviews of playing other roles, I get angry. Angry because the back of my mind expects them to always be this character, and I don't want to see them doing anything else. I realize I do this, I'm not delusional, I understand that the way I've been thinking is odd and wrong, but I can't really help doing it.
wesleypipes Certainly mate. :D Well, not being alone is a known fact to me, i guess feeling that way for a tv show means that its producers as well as the whole crew did a hell of a job. :) And the life lessons that it offers youuuuuu. Dem feelssssss!
Well, the Purgatory is timeless, so you've got to look at it from each character's individual perspective. Jack arrived there immediately after dying on the island, while Kate arrived there after dying of old age, yet they both arrived at the same time.
Well it depends if you believe Jack was 100% dead, im pretty sure he became the next smoke monster and helped Hurley protect the island that`s why it was so hard for him to remember because he was someone else for longer than he was himself.
Charity Diary Real Life she would have lived and possibly died of old age.. she never saw Jack since she left the Island. When her memories came back those all those years after she finally left the island would have been remembered to.
“No….. that’s not how you know me” I’m a grown ass 34 year old man and even I can admit the feels I get when she delivers that line. Excellent acting from miss Lily right there.
I agree. In fact, the whole foursome - James, Jack, Kate and Juliet - had really great chemistry with each other. For me, Kate and James were very similar, so were Jack and Juliet. Maybe that's why they worked best with their opposites - Kate and Jack, James and Juliet.
Lost means so much to me. The show is never too far way from my mind. Looking forward to doing a rewatch this summer. As for the finale? Stunning! Absolutely stunning! It really hit me in the feels from an emotional point of view 👏🏿
Evangeline Lilly is an incredibly beautiful woman. This scene and entire series is very very moving. I like her portrayal of a strong, confident, caring but at the same time fragile person . Showing us what really matters in life. I lost the woman who in afterthought I should have proposed to and married. I was deeply at war with myself and didn't see who was right in front of her. I miss her so much.
And she’s so humanely flawed…… She loves two men, one she aspires to be with, a man like Jack. And sawyer the man who she wants to be with but she doesn’t want to want him. He’s like a drug. The way she slept with sawyer not because she was deeply I love with him but because she thought he was about to die……. She wanted it, and she knew he wanted it too. So they just went for it. Go out with a bang. To me that’s so human. Every character was human, I terms of not totally evil and not totally good. The closest thing we got to perfect goodness was Hurley, that’s why Charlie dreams him as Jesus. And the only utterly evil one is the MIB and is it a coincidence and MIB seems to be the only person that Hurley doesn’t like, he even likes Ben and Michael and forgives them their humans weaknesses but MIB he knows is something else.
I think it was actually the opposite. Looking at it, Tom her childhood sweetheart who she loved was very stable did not want to run away, Kate loved him but ran from him because she did not feel like she deserved him. Same thing with Kevin also a stable guy. She wanted to be with those guys but was too afraid to want them because it meant she would have to stop running. Sawyer was a runner so naturally she felt drawn to him because she saw herself in him. Sawyer was the equivalent of a “get back” guy. It was the same thing with Jack and Juliet, Jack did not feel like he could be with Kate. So he turned to Juliet to make Kate jealous. And Juliet was someone he definitely was attracted to because she was so much like him. They understood each other, like Sawyer and Kate. Juliet was the person he saw himself with, likely because she reminded him of Sarah. Sawyer was the person Kate saw herself with because he was so similar. Kate could finally be honest about her feelings for Jack because she stopped running. Both Sawyer and Kate needed to stop running to be with the person they were meant to be with.
Yes!! 💯! His acting was incredible and multi-layered. He's so professional and committed delivering. Evangeline grew and blossomed as an actress and went on to have a stellar career tthat is still on the rise. I wish I could see BOTH together onscreen again, but he would have to come out of retirement.
It’s poetic he was the first to wake up on the island and the last to move on. As they say a general never leaves the battlefield till all his men are off the field

Kate could've lived to be 90 and not seen him again till now.

Lol the way she just looking at him smiling everybody was who they where suppose to be with in the end Jack with Kate Sun with Jin Hurley with Libby Sawyer with Juliet Sayid with Shannon Desmond with Penny and Charlie with Claire
No, it's about letting go of the island and moving on with those they knew and loved or cared about from there. Some like Kate, may have been married to other people for decades after the island, but maybe Desmond and Hurley set it up so they could find each other once more. And if there's no time there, they could have had similar goodbyes letting go with other people, like Sayid with Nadia.
This is totally insane, I mean how long is it since I watched this? 10 yrs, 15? I totally lost it and startad crying. Funny thing is that I don´t remember this part. Amazing acting from both of them, absolute top class!
I was tearing up over a scene that I wasn't going to watch again, because I wasn't interested: Kate helping Claire deliver Aaron in the flash-sideways.
Probably my favorite Jack and Kate moment. Cried my way all the way through the finale, and i almost never cry at anything. Has happened 2 times before while watching movies (Grave of the Fireflies and Hachiko: A Dogs Story). This episode is probably the thing that has touched me the most out of everything i've watched.
Man, when she says she missed him. It had be going for a bit. Kate made it off and Jack died there on the island, who knows what happened to Kate after his death, but her saying she missed him... just beautiful.
If this is how it is in the door to the afterlife, I hope my loved one finds me in just the same way, and tells me exactly what Kate told Jack. SO awesome..
after rewatching the series i’m now sure that everyone who says “it was all a dream” didn’t watch the show clearly or are DUMB. like how else can you interpret kate saying i missed you any other way than they met and went through stuff and she died much later than him??
This ending was only ever disappointing for people who couldn't follow it. IF you dont really understand whats happening its understandable why this finale felt bad. When you do understand it tho imho its one of the best finales ever.
This TV series has ruined it for every other TV series it is the best by far that I've ever seen in my whole entire life. I wish I could wipe my memory of the whole thing and watch it all over again loved it loved it loved it
I wish she looked at Scott Lang that way in the Ant-Man franchise. Other than the kissing scene at the end of the first movie, there was little romance between them in the other movies, just her anger at him getting arrested and making her and her father fugitives.
Now that I have watched the series in full for the third time and fully understand the ending this part hits so much harder! I never cry for any movies or tv shows but I did for this part! JUST WOW!!!!!
I think it's a symbol that they remember some parts of what happened. Jack and Claire remembered Oceanic 815, because they sort of remember the island. And sorry, but if a plane you were on crashes on a mysterious island then yeah you would remember that. Especially since Oceanic 815 was a central part of the story.
I went to watch the finale on streaming again years ago, and I think they deleted the scene between Desmond and Eloise where she pleads to have more time with her son.
They were flash sideways in season 6, all the flashes are visions of their lives after their deaths, and when they find each other they remember their past lives and the island
@crazytalkerman They actually explored and closed off a lot of themes that were presented through the series in the flash-sideways, as well as close off the development of their characters in microcosms of their six-year journey, then provide closure and emotional payoff for the investment in the characters. The plot was serviced in the island-storyline, the flash-sideways was a memoir to the audience.
It is so m i x e d on how we feel about how the show ended but I think it's so cool that we can all agree that moments like this where Jack gets a little glimpse of this journey he's been on was so special and this whole episode was so beautifully directed and acted and of course that score is amazing
It was disappointing in the sense that you wanted them to "win" and do a reset. I guess the whole time travel thing was to show that "what happened, happened" and it had to go down that way as a loop or the world would be destroyed.
The sideways world was hard for some people to handle because some people can't handle death nor the concept. Thinking about the fact that all the people they watched went and lived their lives and died just doesn't compute.
1:18 lets face it, Evangeline Lilly walking up to us like that, wearing that dress, even if her memory thing didn't work we'd all just fake it XD "yep! i totally remember you! lead the way!"
I like how the sideways reflect jacks journey in particular, his refusal of fate, his rejection of what he saw as irrational and that’s why he holds out the longest in the sideways and even resists them to the point he’s trying to debate his dads ghost about what’s real and not
Lost was on tv when I was younger - I didn’t have the Liberty or time to get invested in it, but remember various fragments from initial episodes. I once watched one episode focused on one character’s hallucinations. But after seeing this clip, I realise they built way more in this show leading to the wrap up - that I think I’m ready to watch it now
Jack and Kate's love story is one of the most complicated ones in television. Jack was the leader whom everyone relied on. Kate was a wanted criminal with a big heart yet extremely unreliable. There was an instant undeniable attraction and a connection but what kept the barrier between was Kate failing to tell Jack about her criminal past. It was her responsibility to tell him. Then he found out about it from a second hand. This is why Jack was never able to really trust Kate because when they met, they connected in a very intimate level and he didn't know that this person with whom he was closely dealing with was a wanted murderer. That's why he says to her "It doesn't matter who we were, it matter who we are now". He accepts her past but he might never be able to trust her and if she wants to earn his trust, she has to prove herself to be worthy of it by trying to be a better person. Jack and Kate's relationship is where he was the best thing for her but she was the worst thing for him. That's why they were never able to have a stable relationship and have a future in their lifetime. The truth is that Juliet was the best thing for Jack. She was his adult relationship, his mature love. Jack loved both Juliet and Kate equally but he couldn't be with either of them because he couldn't risk losing either of them.

Has happened 2 times before while watching movies (Grave of the Fireflies and Hachiko: A Dogs Story). This episode is probably the thing that has touched me the most out of everything i've watched.
😊😊😊😊
Man, when she says she missed him. It had be going for a bit. Kate made it off and Jack died there on the island, who knows what happened to Kate after his death, but her saying she missed him... just beautiful.
Watching almost 20 years after it dropped, 2023. The feels 😢
< That's not how U known me > what a powerfull scene & heartbraking 😔
We’re in 2021 now and I still miss this show
If this is how it is in the door to the afterlife, I hope my loved one finds me in just the same way, and tells me exactly what Kate told Jack. SO awesome..
Notice he goes to the concert and really no one is there..He doesn’t have a son..He was drawn to go there to meet her again…soulmates..
0:40 THE WAY SHE LOOKS AT HIM!
The fact that a beautiful scene like this gets lost on those IDIOTS who think they were dead the whole time angers me.
This still gets me in tears! Jack died and she left the island to live a life without him! Now I’m the afterlife she found him
this scene makes me want to cry everytime :( its so sad and beautiful in the same time .....epic
In my opinion, this is the best scene in the entire series
I miss this fucking show man.
When she said "I've missed you so much" - that broke me ❣
she is gorgeous
after rewatching the series i’m now sure that everyone who says “it was all a dream” didn’t watch the show clearly or are DUMB. like how else can you interpret kate saying i missed you any other way than they met and went through stuff and she died much later than him??
Exactly, those people are just dumb.
This is a really powerful scene.
What Kate meant when she says it's over was about Jack's life, not concert. Cool scene.
Jacob Esau Or, about them being apart ❤
Obviously. He has arrived to his "destination".
Kate is a stunner. All 6 seasons
especially in this scene
jesus christ this show hit me so hard i shed a tear at the end
Seing Got season 8 made me reconsider what a disappointing ending is. Lost last season was actually great
Agree
By now I forgot what GoT is
This ending was only ever disappointing for people who couldn't follow it. IF you dont really understand whats happening its understandable why this finale felt bad. When you do understand it tho imho its one of the best finales ever.
same
@@onebuffalo5402 Absolutely.
This TV series has ruined it for every other TV series it is the best by far that I've ever seen in my whole entire life. I wish I could wipe my memory of the whole thing and watch it all over again loved it loved it loved it
Me too
They r so cute together
Great chemistry between them, They should do a movie together.
Can you tell me exactly, too? A different perspective can open my mind
what a fantastic ending, it blows me away everytime I watch it
They were always meant to be together.
THIS SCENE IS EVERYTHING
Beautiful ending to the greatest show of all time
So so so beautiful. Literally such a misunderstood masterpiece of a finale
Jack, it's okay. You can let go.
This kind of remind me of Jack And Rose when Rose died, Jack eas was waiting for her in the lobby of titanic
It's crazy. It's been already 10 years since the last season was released.
Yeah...
Indeed time flies 😲
Kate says "Oceanic flight 815" and Jacks is like "Who the fck remembers their flight number??"
But Kate wasn’t talking about the concert when she said ‘it’ was over...
I personaly loved the finale
It is so m i x e d on how we feel about how the show ended but I think it's so cool that we can all agree that moments like this where Jack gets a little glimpse of this journey he's been on was so special and this whole episode was so beautifully directed and acted and of course that score is amazing
this whole purgatory stuff still fucks me up, this should have been an alternative timeline
It was disappointing in the sense that you wanted them to "win" and do a reset. I guess the whole time travel thing was to show that "what happened, happened" and it had to go down that way as a loop or the world would be destroyed.
Jack is so stubborn even to "wake up" IoI
🤣🤣🤣
Love Jack :)
Fabulous and magnificent ❤😊
I miss them soooo muchhhhhh
The sideways world was hard for some people to handle because some people can't handle death nor the concept. Thinking about the fact that all the people they watched went and lived their lives and died just doesn't compute.
I’m gonna have to watch the whole of Lost again one of these days.
1:18 lets face it, Evangeline Lilly walking up to us like that, wearing that dress,
even if her memory thing didn't work we'd all just fake it XD
"yep! i totally remember you! lead the way!"
I didn't like kate for a while much, but towards the end she grew on me
I like how the sideways reflect jacks journey in particular, his refusal of fate, his rejection of what he saw as irrational and that’s why he holds out the longest in the sideways and even resists them to the point he’s trying to debate his dads ghost about what’s real and not
Lost was on tv when I was younger - I didn’t have the Liberty or time to get invested in it, but remember various fragments from initial episodes. I once watched one episode focused on one character’s hallucinations. But after seeing this clip, I realise they built way more in this show leading to the wrap up - that I think I’m ready to watch it now
"I missed you so much" I wish a pretty girl would say that to me and have flashbacks of me and her pop into my head
This is one of the top scene of LOST series and this dialog: I missed you so much 😭😭😭
Hard to believe it's been so long since I first saw this. I'd go anywhere with Kate... anywhere.
just watched this at 3:37 am and now i'm weeping
1:21 her outfit ❤
I wonder how much time passed between Kate realizing she needed to find Jack and her actually finding him in this different afterlife.
Not long enough to make her stop missing Jack. She loved and missed him for the rest of her life.
There is no "time" in afterlife.
@@notheragain9572 That's not what they were asking.
Jack is my hero
