    For any other newbies like me who get lost if something doesn't work.... in the most recent versions of Photoshop creative cloud - version 22, since you no longer can use the line tool in pixel mode, it worked for me to use the pencil tool, just make sure to increase the pixels after changing it to pure black like he says in the video or you might not be able to see the line you have drawn. And when using the pencil tool and using the blue guidelines, you don't need to use the shift key to draw a straight line.

    • @markylon
      @markylon 3 года назад

      you don't need to add manual guidelines you can add them automatically

  • @RetAArd73
    @RetAArd73 6 лет назад +11

    I can do the same thing in one minute. Just make sure that you work in CMYK-mode. Under Filter -> Pixelate -> Color halftone... Fill in the radius in pixels and the angles in CMYK-order. Voila! Now you can do the separation of the four channels as described in the clip.

      Is there a specific reason for number for angles?

    • @ni8465
      @ni8465 2 года назад +1

      @@watersinc.519 when you print in CMYK each layer of color is composed of thousands and thousands of tiny dots, and each layer has to align with the others in certain angles so the colors blend and create the illusion of different colors. There’s a term you can search called moiré pattern if you want to go further into it

    Thanks man. Im using PS 2021 and I was able to follow without any problems. I will burn the screens tomorrow and see how the design comes out. The only question I have is about frequency. What are you looking at when determining what frequency is right? Are you looking for details on the artwork? opacity? Or you have to actually screen print the design and make changes base on the results you get?

    • @alihassanmanghi51
      @alihassanmanghi51 2 года назад

      detail on the artwork, lines and edges crisp, while accounting for the silk screen mesh count, the higher the mesh, the more frequency you can apply (detail)

    • @ismyalak1419
      @ismyalak1419 7 лет назад

      Gendo3s2k yes there is a reason, if you don't choose it then the colors will begin to overlap on each other, you might also end up having some linear patterns on your shirts or whatever you are printing on.

    • @markylon

      because otherwise the colours would all overlap each other and you wouldn't see them eg yellow covered with cyan and magenta and black and you won't see the colour watch this for a simple explanation ruclips.net/video/qooBg20wYLU/видео.html

    • @groncal

      If you are printing on any other color other than white, you'll have to lay a white under base for the CMYK layers. You'll then need more than a 4 color press.

      you don't print the white. the printers don't have a white color... that's the color of the paper and when we print to transparency the white is... transparent.
