Capone-N-Noreaga Reflect On 'The War Report' 18 Years Later

- www.vladtv.com - June 17, 2015 marked the 18th anniversary of Capone-N-Noreaga's classic debut album, "The War Report." The '97 collective put Lefrak City on the map, and according to Nore, it was so authentic because at the time, it was all he knew. "I couldn't think outside of Lefrak. Meaning, I never been nowhere," he recalls. "When I listen to that album, I really be like, 'I really didn't go nowhere.' I didn't experience life."
Capone "had a different experience." The Queensbridge spitter was away in jail on multiple gun charges at the time "The War Report" was released. He knew the album was a success when the record label called him ready to give him any and everything he needed while he served his time. "I felt like, in a sense, I was God," Capone says.
Watch on as they reflect upon their most influential album and tell the story of the time they punked former Vibe music editor Sacha Jenkins in yet another entertaining exclusive with "the Queensbridge duo." - Развлечения
War Report...that album was a definite classic...grimy, antisocial New York hood mentality...the beats back then had that hard snare with samples and monoton drum loops...raw, uncompromising and militant message with great flows and raw voices...
The war report is a classic

The War Report is one of the few albums I can listen to every song without skipping a track. Such a fucking classic album and I'm still bumping it in 2017.
Andrew Borges like the infamous

I like that Capone spoke more. I loved hearing his stories as well as Nore's.
Prissy yeah but Tragedy Khadaffi stayed low key most of it
Live on live long...one of the best songs ever
Beat Song on the Album. That and "T.O.N.Y"
The War Report was a classic before it was a classic, I keep it on everyone of my iPods
One of my favorite albums of all time!
One of the most defining hip-hop albums of the golden era!!!!!
PS: Hey N.O.R.E. for the die hard fans of the true era, we need an official on who produced the two rare classics "Married To Marijuana" and "Calm Down." Ez Elpee or Marley Marl for "Calm Down" and Charlemagne for "Married To Marijuana" are most peoples picks, are we right?
CNN and the war report became synonymous with lefrak also, whenever I tell people lefrak, they say cNN so nore's plan of making lefrak known has worked for sure !!
Funny how this is one of the Vlad's better interviews and it only has 23,500 views. Shows where Hip-Hop's mind is right now.
Used to be Ron honest words
I was in the military and would come home to Brooklyn on leave. My cousin told me get this" some thug shit, you'll like it", about the War Report. And yes, I still have the CD.
I had my headphones in just listening and 4got this was on youtube 4 a minute lol sounded like i was outside listening to the OG's telling stories. GOTTA LOVE CNN
Me too bro
nas and mobb deep one of the nicest from queensbridge
Don’t forget the LostsBoyz
They were birthed by Tragedy
It's funny how Noreaga mentions the vinyls because I actually bought the War Report on vinyl from this record store and I don't even have a fuckin turntable.lol That album is mos def a classic from the golden era.

Capone’s name use to ring bells in queens lol. I use to live in Brownsville and use to hang with dudes from qb housing and this dude was really on his bully back then
Jay_em2 you never seen Killa black havoc bro ?
Channel 10 is my favorite song on the War Report, that hook Tragedy had, Microchips in the celly the game don't stop, tappin in ya bank funds with the Lap top, wanna own a block before the ball drop... man that joint was so tuff, I got chills just writing this

The War Report is Top 3 Group Albums of all time.
My favorite album ever. War report. Every song is lit
I fucks with them socks .
You know the album is a classic cause it’s aging so well
"I got caught with this this and that as well as one of those."
I was like GAHDAMN! Talk about packin' heat!
that album is a 10 mics
When Nore mentioned "Soul Sisters" at 13:53 he meant the group Finesse & Synquis
VLAD YOU SEEM TO DO IT EVERY TIME! Your lack of basic knowledge of the culture is incredible. MARLEY MARL & MC SHAN PUT QUEENSBRIDGE ON THE MAP! The CRAIG G on DroppinnScience, "and what this means is / we'll be the dopest duo coming out of QUEENSBRIDGE". Then Tragedy, THEN NAS, THEN MOBB DEEP, THEN CAPONE (of Capone & Norega), THEN BABY SHAM OF FLIPMODE SQUAD! Man, I wish you'd learn your HIP HOP HISTORY! But I guess it's due to age. History gets lost with age. But the guys you Interview and debate with that EMINEM IS GREAT! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW THE HALF! It's almost like your knowledge of Hip Hop starts in 1993 ABOUT 5 YEARS LATE!
Theonlychild1988 You forgot Kool G Rap
New York get the bloody money
The War Report was one of my first albums that I bought back then. Had "Closer" on repeat while doing homework. memories...
getyapaper Closer remix was fire
Tragedi khadafi-"im a thug" shouldve been on that album..that song was craaaaack
4:19 they caught Pone with a military bag! "I wasn't playing" lol.
This is a classic album.. I still rock this
Facts we even was playing war report in the Panasonic or sony radio's 📻 in Atlantic City in the hood they was playing them in the PJ's out here in the shity City
I really appreciate these interviews Vlad. You have 3 legends on your sofa with a ton of knowledge between them and you ask the right questions to prompt them and then you sit back and let them speak. I can also tell you’re genuinely a fan of these men as well. Some of your best interviews.
Aye man what's up with them socks Nore wearing? Like what is that? Long ass socks with them cargoes and that jacket? Nah fam lmao
I wonder how they feel about The Reunion not having that big of an impact cuz Tragedy did so much damage on The War Report
Me too
JERU his verse on LA LA was fire
Yo,eternally the game reverse and burn me,my man turn States and took the 1-3,snitching on me how could it be,we was team,I guess it got divided by the cream

This is what I mean when I say I like hip hop. Not no fucking postmalone or drake
Just listened to T.O.N.Y this morning, one of the best albums made
Classic. Bought it when it first dropped. Damn! I'm old
Vlad hit the nail on the head! I grew up on the border of Queens and LI...Mobb and CNN were so vivid in their story telling they had me shook as a kid. To later as I got older realize I grew up 20 minutes away, it felt like they were in a totally different country!
I have to say one thing. I grew up in New York in the 90s and remember when people would buy a CD then put their speakers on their fucking windows and loop the CD for 2 and 3 days at a time, that shit was so fucking annoying. That's one thing I seriously don't miss about the 90s.
That was me😂😁😂😁😂😂😁😂😁😂😁😂🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️😂😂😂😂 I used to put huge ass speakers 🔊as tall as 6 feet and blast this album out the window 🪟😂😳😤😭

shout out to pone n Noriega. - weezy F
That's must be an east coast classic album.
COSMO JOE wtf you don't know about the war report ...that's sad
tremel scyobl You gotta understand, I'm from The south. Around the time The War Report came out, Hip-Hop was still regional. So we mainly supported southern artist. Most songs that we hear from the east coast are the ones that goes mainstream, other than that we wasn't really checking the east coast like that.
Now with the internet & satellite radio, Im now catching up to a lot of good music. you can't blame me.
@@Trill_I_Am funny I'm from NY and now I'm finding the Memphis rap from the 90s
you can tell trag aint really feeling nore or the whole interview.
I miss the tape era, yo!
how he put weed inside that blunt machine?
