- In an interview with NBC News Chief White House Correspondent Peter Alexander, Vice President Harris praised President Biden's State of the Union address, saying she believed it "dispelled" any questions about his ability to serve another term in office. Harris also discussed the administration's potential agenda to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, immigration and border policies, and if Biden would commit to debating former President Trump.

As someone who lives in Louisiana, please for the love of god do not raise the federal minimum wage. Cost of life has always been balancing income versus expenses. From kings/governments/politicians/food producers/businesses to commoners, the people/i.e. the rest of us.
Difference is kings/governments et al have taxing authority/capital and commoners have none beyond their labor & their time for compensation in wages. The importance IS in HOW the taxes are used.
The moment businesses know that people in their neighborhoods are getting wage increases, the businesses will increase their prices, from produce, food, clothing, essentials to rent. Louisiana and other red states often wave the false flag that working people making more money are to expect their housing costs to rise. So don't increase the living wage, keep it low.
But DO cut taxes for the rich as they will take their non-taxable money savings to expand/start new businesses which will have to hire more people, etc. This is an assumption, it's not a guarantee.
This is Capitalism at work. What's Capital? Money. ❤eeping wages low to offset salary increases. You do know the difference between a Wage and a Salary, yes? You do understand Price Gouging, yes? You know about Shrinkflation, yes? Who pays more? And who can afford to pay more? There are countries who manage their costs of living carefully so their people are paid living wages. And then there's the United States which doesn't fully manage the country's cost of living - so it becomes laissez faire economics.
** Some countries have tax equity which provides free universal healthcare, education, etc. for all - Scandanavian countries. Every citizen is taxed according to their income level.
** Then there are some countries that don't have tax equity so not all citizens are taxed according to their income level. Goes to reason that All citizens cannot receive good free education & free healthcare, etc. - that's us & some other nations.

If you’re an adult, making minimum wage or an adult working at a fast food restaurant, trying to raise a family look in the mirror. Your problems are way bigger than economics.
