This lineup of the Byrds ; McGuinn, White, Parsons, Battin - was the best lineup the band ever had. If you haven’t listened to their album called “Untitled”, you’re missing a real masterpiece. Thank so much for this video!
When I was a kid in the 60s, when a Byrds song came on the radio I would stop playing and go to the radio and listen. I just thought their music was incredible and no one else like them. Sounds so beautiful, thanks for putting this vid up!.
Thanks so much for posting! My favorite version besides Bob's own earliest version. Roger McGuinn and the Byrds with Earl and Randy Skruggs - doesn't get much better than them jamming together. It was very sad that Randy died so young, Great all female version at Bob's Anniversary Concert in 1992.
Earl Scuggs rockin' out with the Band! Nothing better than those Days. Do I say DTOP YOUR VOMPLSINING SNOUT BACK TO NORMAL AND LOVE WHAT IS TODAY. Time runs away from everyone. It's precious and a free gift.Dont waste it moaning and carryin' on! My God , LIVE WHAT IS! ITS ALL YOUVE GOT.
Philbrown1474: I torally agree with you that their lineup on this was their best ensemble. I had the good fortune of seeing them 5 times. I also agree with your assessment of the "Untitled" album. My dad one day asked "I thought you had more albums this this one."
@@philipeaston5465 No longer the only one. Dwight Yoakam talked Gene Parsons into building a second one that he uses today. Well his guitarist Eugene does.
Few songs equal the shear sing ability of Easy Chair. This unrehearsed impromptu version, shot when Earl Scruggs and his 2 sons, Gary and Randy, just "happened" by. Everyone but the Scruggs Boys was high on Panama Red !
This is, without a doubt, the best! Earl knows he and his sons could kick Roger's ass clean back to Marin County, no problem! Earl was a man, a gentleman, and a musician's musician. There will never be another. Take a shower, Roger's.
@@ScottBowerscostaricaguy It really does look like him, but it wasn't. He quit the Byrds while in London. Also, he couldn't grow a moustache very well.
Hi David, you know I really enjoy your docs. I tried the link to purchase the full documentary, and Mr Amazon says it’s unavailable. 😢 Also, one reviewer commented about the video and audio in the fabulous Joan Baez scenes are out of synch in the DVD. I don’t remember this being so in the clips you made for iTunes. Best, Lee ❤
Thank you Lee. There are some people who sell DVDs of my film illegally and sometimes those DVDs are out of sync. Carelessly made. Unfortunately Amazon stop selling DVDs including mine. David Hoffman filmmaker
@@DavidHoffmanFilmmaker Hi again. David, then, may I suggest that you delete the link you provide to Amazon? Is the another way that I can purchase the doc? Ty.

David. One thing I do have is a good memory, so I thought it through. Back in the day it was rare to have access to any clips of 50's and 60's stuff. I taped the History of PBS in 95. If memory serves me, The episode was called " Shakespeare's in the Alley" and was focused on Dylan and Folk Rock..Mcguinn was featured as we know his part in that movement. Sometime later in the episode I believe your footage was playing to reflect the movement from folk to country. It was the first time Insaw Mcguinn in that period without the granny glasses. When I saw the footage I was like...wow, it's David's..I checked RUclips and this episode is not there. The other episodes from the series seem to have been broadcast in England...and my tapes are long gone.

Back in 75 i had one & sold it but 2 years ago I bought the 60"s reissue & the guitar is a beast and yes , its rock solid ! Great guitar !
Earl Scruggs teaming up with the Byrds-whoda thunk it? Thanks so much for this!
Classic Dylan Cover, Fantastic!
Earl's break is just... perfection.
"I think it sounded alright ..." Ya think Roger ? Whenever I hear this it sticks in my head for weeks. PERFECTION guys !!

One of the best by the Byrds! This is amazing, thank you so much! Sweetheart of the Rodeo has to be one of the best albums of all time.

Mr. Scruggs looks like he is having the time of his life!

Glad to know it ain't forgotten 🤣
except for Clarence White. Sorry

yes. 100 times yes. this amazing. means so much to me and where i am in life. i love this.
Chris Hillman and one of the other Byrds (I forget his name just now) actually made the country charts with this in 1989.

The song title is 'You Ain't Goin' Nowhere'. Please fix the title of your vid.
"YOU AIN'T GOING NOWHERE" is the actual name of this song. Written by Bob Dylan after a motorcycle wreck left him homebound.
