Don't over shampoo it, let it fade naturally. You look great. It actually give you a dynamic look . We need to continue to make changes over time in our hair and makeup. I will be 78 this year with similar hair color. I bet I change to your new color from blonde by my 80th. You go girl!❤

Love it. You have beautiful skin and eyes so the color looks so good on you. The gray highlights around your face look really good with the darker gray everywhere else. I have used original Prell shampoo to strip dark color off my hair many times. But really, I think you should leave it. Looks great!

Honestly I think this hair color is more becoming on you than the blond. Your eyes look amazing! I laughed when you said there's nothing wrong with being old... but I don't want to feel old. At some point, we have to embrace the fact that we are old. Anything over 65 is considered old age. Its just a fact. And I think you look amazing, whatever your age is. This color makes you look polished and classy.
It is stunning! Absolutely stunning. What most women don't understand is gray hair makes your face glow. It complements your face and makes you look younger! I think you look absolutely gorgeous. Gray is another color like blond. It makes your eyes pop like nobodies business! Gorgeous, just gorgeous.

Every time I suggest to my husband that I might color my gray hair blonde he says "NO". And he's not someone that takes a firm stand with me very often. I think you look elegant.
I went back to see your hair in other videos for perspective. I have to tell you that I just LOVE your new color on you!! You actually look younger to me. Hi Patty, first of all, it looks beautiful. When I looked back at your more recent videos you actually look younger now with the new color! This new look adds much more depth to your color than what you had previously. I am going through the exact same thing in letting my natural gray grow out, I’ve got the same gray pattern as you, my hair is dark in the back, silver around my face. I’ve got about six more inches to go, but now that I see yours, I’ll be making an appt. with my stylist! I give it a two thumbs up!❤❤

I don't know who your hairstylist is, but she did a fabulous job on your hair!!! Like all the other comments, it does make your blue eyes pop and you look so sophisticated. I have watched you for years and I like your hair blonde too, but without the gray in it. It all boils down to whether you want to keep up the blonde color or not. Do what pleases you!!!
I am nearly 74, and my greying hair 's original color is very similar to yours. I only started getting grey hairs about 12 years!ago, and the process is happening so gently and gradually, that folks think I have an awesome colourist! I do: God Almighty! I think it looks beautiful! It suits you so well and absolutely doesn’t age you. Sometimes, when we mix blonde with grey, it makes the blonde look yellow. This colour combination looks rich, glossy and natural. I love it on you 💕

I’ve been grey/white for 20 years and at 78 I can hardly remember anything else! I think growing older gracefully is very freeing and I love your new look. Honestly you don’t look any older, give it time and don’t let negativity rule your decision.💚☘️

OMG, I think it is beautiful!! You looks years younger. It really makes your eyes pop. I'm a natural blonde and started greying at 23. Since then, my hair has been every color in the rainbow trying to keep those greys covered. Now at 67 my hair is natural, very grey and yet very blonde. I feel washed out and going to the simplest of places need to do a full makeup and really don't want to. A lot of mascara and little bronzer and a light color lipstick. I think changing the hair color might do the trick. You are fabulous!

Your hair is beautiful and your hairdresser is very talented. Having said that, you should do what makes you feel best. I’ve been highlighting my hair for years and recently went back to my medium brown color. It just wasn’t “me” and I’m back to blonde. I’m happy again. Either way, you’re beautiful inside and out. ❤
Patti I think it's beautiful, it takes time to get use to it...I stopped coloring my hair and the caramel highlights when I turned 62 and had my hair cut to a A-line bob...finally it all grew out and it is a pretty silver color that people asked me where did I go to get my hair color, even my grand-daughters, they're in their 20's, hope that they get the same silver color when they my age...I 'm 72 now and glad I did it❤😊❤
Your hair fits right into the "quiet elegance" styling. I went back and forth a few times until I finally said I'm done coloring. I had it cut really short and layered. Lots of silver showing, and I used a spray shine to enhance it. Everyone loves it it, as do I. I think your new color looks very natural and complimentary. But this may not be your time. If you aren't comfortable with it yet, just wait and try again later.

(I was going to mention your youthful blond look a couple of months ago🤗) It lightens your face and makes you look 10 - 20 years younger. I loved how you rolled it up and how you wore the blond hairpiece buns, so pretty 😍. I know " gray" is now sold in a box color in all stores , lol. I am 59+ and color my hair as a brunette, my natural hair color to cover my gray/ white hair. Everyone tells me they think I am in my ' 40s🎉😮😉🎉, so why not pass your mirror feeling younger, especially if Jim loves your pretty blond hair🤗😉🌞. I honestly love it, it looks gorgeous, you absolutely suit it. My mum has finally made the decision to go naturally grey at 73 and she looks beautiful too. I’m 51 and don’t have any grey hairs yet and I can’t yet say what I’ll do but you must always do what makes YOU happy. ❤

I am 72 and my hair has been pure white for at least 10 years, I get compliments on it almost every time I go out. So much easier and no more white roots to color. ❤️
My girl, this look is STUNNING, its so luscious and glossy looking, and it makes your face pop! The luster makes me call this color "silver" not "gray," its *gorgeous*. As long as its affordable, I'd keep it up! But of course, in the end, its up to you--YOU need to feel happy with it ❤
This color looks classy and bright eyed on you. I’m 79 and within the last few years have gone all silver. It was hard to look at myself and realize that was the new me but I’m really happy with it now. Lots of people tell me it looks so fab and the others don’t say anything al all. Which I appreciate. Yes the makeup will change but that’s kind of fun too.
10+ years ago I had chemo treatment and decided that whatever colour my hair was when it grew back, that's what I would live with. I was so tired of dying my roots every 3 weeks. My natural hair colour is very similar to yours - white in the front, mid-brown in the back (okay, more salt-and-pepper now). I love it. I get compliments on it all the time. So, of course, I LOVE your new colour. You say it makes you feel old and I get it but, frankly, Patti, I find it makes you look perfect. I found the blonde made you look (and forgive me for this...) like you were trying too hard to stay young. The fact that hubby likes it should tell you something, too. Of course, I had months to get used to mine (as it grew back in after chemo) while yours changed in an afternoon but I think you'll like it, especially once you get the number of compliments I'm sure are coming your way.
When you’ve changed colours it’s really no time to makes decisions on the resulting colour because it’s going to fade so quickly. Then you’re going to have to keep the roots upkeep to an extent, so u colours the roots again then u need to get use and adjust your thinking again on the results. I’ve bleached and toned since I was 16. My Aunt I was very close to was a stylist specializing in colour so once she taught me how to formulate colours I had a blast. But just turning 74 Vi have reached the point where like you said, I’m focusing only on the colour I’ve had for years being what Gi liked most and I’ve got to get use to having a new me and settle for a “tri” coloured white, no yellow at all, white, using a very light ash toner then pulling hairs thru a cap in 2 more diff coloured grey, maybe needing to only colouring twice a year. Say goodbye to the blonde yellow toning shades, it time I’m telling myself.
I also had chemo and came back and beautiful salt & pepper. I've had so many compliments on it. It takes a bit of adjustment..but who cares...I have hair!
I had a bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy finished 8 months ago, I always loved my beautiful long dark blonde straight hair, losing it was tough, it grew back in dark grey and super curly which has been ridiculously hard to deal with, but being 48 years old i didn't want to stay full grey so i recently opted to dye it back to similar to my natural dark blonde color, its true what patti says, hair is just hair its like painting the walls, but i never knew the huge emotional impact it had on me and my self esteem until it was gone, I look forward to going full grey at some point but felt it was too soon since it was chemically induced, i feel much better having some color back but I'm still dealing with the chemo curls which are tragic and a big change for me, I have to constantly remind myself of the sacrifices that had to be made for my health, its still hard to deal with though lol
I don't know how old you are, but right now I'm going on 68. I stopped dyeing my hair when Covid hit. My sides are white, the rest is a mixture of steel gray and blackish. I also have a blackish medium streak in the middle of my forehead that refuses to go away. I loved my lavender hair when I had it. But my hair starting thinning and I started getting some balding spots, not noticeable as I do my best to cover them up. Long story short, I get so many compliments. Some ppl even ask if I had it done professionally. Can you imagine? I love the way my hair looks. I love my white, steel gray and dark hair. I can't wait til it turns all white. I hope it blinds everyone 😅.
Patti, honestly, it looks so uh…sophisticated I think is the word. The front is a beautiful color. I’m like you, my grey is white and it’s around my face. Yes, I was wondering if you felt that way. My husband asked if I wanted grey because it’s so in fashion, and I too had the “concern ”, that it would age my look. We had the conversation a few nights ago if we thought others thought of us as “elderly”. Bill said, “ya think?” But I said, aside from my aged body, I don’t feel old at all. He agreed, we feel perhaps in our, not teens, but certainly 30’s or 40’s. We’re both in our early 60’s. Age, as we age, grows to be a frame of mind. There is so little about people who are in their wiser years in the media, that we really don’t know what to expect. However, I do see this trend beginning to change. You’ve already been in your house that long! ? Time certainly passes quickly. We were fortunate to see circus solei (sp) in LasVegas once, and the theme was The Beatles. I also, was on the edge of my seat. Such talent. Your hair is yes, your decision. Mine is blonde and the grey in a white color. My maternal grandmother had all white hair as her grey, naturally. I once colored my hair dark brown, as a change. The very first fhing I said was, I look like my mom! I also felt old. Thank you Patti for being so honest. Patty, I love the new look. I color my hair (blonde), and I can say that no matter what, I'm always a bit dissapointed. It takes about 2 weeks until I'm happy. With that being said, I would suggest that you give yourself a 2 week window before you make your final assessment. Also, I think that the current color looks younger on you. It is normal to make changes to your makeup when the hair color changes. You have beautiful facial features and at 80 you are stunning. I think a little more deeper blush is what you might be looking for. So, love your new look. Take a bow!
I am 62 and have decided in the past month to let my grey grow out. Now my husband and one son wants me to continue to color and am just tired of doing it. I quit hiding my salt and pepper gray back in 2019. I don’t regret it at all!! I get many compliments on it- when I do it LOL. Go for it! It takes time but so worth it!!!
Patti you are a beautiful woman!! I'm 74. This year in July I will be 75 years old. I tried letting my hair go natural when the gray/white hairs started coming. I'm Italian. Both mother and father were Italian. Grandparents came to America on a ship to Ellis Island in New York. I had very dark hair all my life until I was in my 40s and decided I wanted to become a blonde. My mother and all her sisters did the same thing. I loved being a blonde! Well just 2 months ago when I was getting whiter and whiter every time I looked in the mirror I gasped! In my mind I'm still a young 20 year old woman lol 😂!! I was starting to get depressed so I called my hair dresser and said "Nicole I want to be blonde again". I'm so happy I did it! I feel great with the beautiful color and I believe I look younger. Nicole did not have to use bleach on my hair. I found your RUclips channel because of Nanny and Moosie. I have watched some of your older videos and you were absolutely gorgeous as a blonde! Don't get me wrong. You are a beautiful woman no matter what. But if you're looking for some honest opinions I like you with the blonde hair much better. As a hairdresser… you can add a little dish soap ( like dawn) to your shampoo and ‘ scrub it out and it will lighten up….follow with a conditioner. Savings:$50-100 bucks

Retired barber here-most people have darker hair in the back when they start graying. The weird part is some people get darker in the back even more than their former natural color was.
Yup! I’m 77. My hair has turned mostly turned gray, but the back of my hair is as naturally dark as the day I was born. Not ONE gray/ white hair! Looks pretty crazy when I put my hair up

Love it! I gave up coloring my hair 14 months ago and still have about 8 inches of the old blond at the ends. I had to completely change my makeup colors. Mine is white around the front and darker gray at the top and back. I chose not to use a toner or gloss because I wanted to see what my natural color and texture were going to be. There have been days when I just wanted to run to the drugstore and get some hair color! It took me a year to get rid of all my hair coloring paraphernalia. Again, love the color!❤
I love your hair, looks great!! Compliments your skin tone, looks natural, your hair looks healthier. The blond can look brassy and fake...your beautiful no matter what so its what makes you happy but love this look!
You look great with either hair color. But the silver in your hair looks fabulous on you and I think it compliments your beautiful eye color so well! Unfortunately ( I just turned 60) 80 percent of my hair has turned white and not this beautiful silvery gray that you have. So for now I am sticking to a silver blond color.
Just seen the new hair, was unsure it was so different, then I went back to your previous video. This looks so much better because the old hair was all pale grey at the front and the blond looked like a separate ponytail. I still liked the blond but it needed more coverage at the front. However let’s see how it fades but looking good so far.
Patti, try adding a silvery wrap piece to your bun part..at the back or crown… wherever you like your bun to be. You will then see the lighter color blended in with the darker. It would be stunning I think! 😍😍😍

I have used original Prell shampoo to strip dark color off my hair many times. But really, I think you should leave it. Looks great!

Honestly I think this hair color is more becoming on you than the blond. Your eyes look amazing! I laughed when you said there's nothing wrong with being old... but I don't want to feel old. At some point, we have to embrace the fact that we are old. Anything over 65 is considered old age. Its just a fact. And I think you look amazing, whatever your age is. This color makes you look polished and classy.

Hi Patty, first of all, it looks beautiful. When I looked back at your more recent videos you actually look younger now with the new color! This new look adds much more depth to your color than what you had previously. I am going through the exact same thing in letting my natural gray grow out, I’ve got the same gray pattern as you, my hair is dark in the back, silver around my face. I’ve got about six more inches to go, but now that I see yours, I’ll be making an appt. with my stylist! I give it a two thumbs up!❤❤

I am nearly 74, and my greying hair 's original color is very similar to yours. I only started getting grey hairs about 12 years!ago, and the process is happening so gently and gradually, that folks think I have an awesome colourist! I do: God Almighty! I am loving how gradually it is softening with my skin and features... and YOU look amazing! OMG, I think it is beautiful!! You looks years younger. It really makes your eyes pop. I'm a natural blonde and started greying at 23. Since then, my hair has been every color in the rainbow trying to keep those greys covered. Now at 67 my hair is natural, very grey and yet very blonde. I feel washed out and going to the simplest of places need to do a full makeup and really don't want to. A lot of mascara and little bronzer and a light color lipstick. I think changing the hair color might do the trick. You are fabulous!

I’ve been highlighting my hair for years and recently went back to my medium brown color. It just wasn’t “me” and I’m back to blonde. I’m happy again. Either way, you’re beautiful inside and out. ❤

Patti I think it's beautiful, it takes time to get use to it...I stopped coloring my hair and the caramel highlights when I turned 62 and had my hair cut to a A-line bob...finally it all grew out and it is a pretty silver color that people asked me where did I go to get my hair color, even my grand-daughters, they're in their 20's, hope that they get the same silver color when they my age...I 'm 72 now and glad I did it❤😊❤
Your hair fits right into the "quiet elegance" styling. I went back and forth a few times until I finally said I'm done coloring. I had it cut really short and layered. Lots of silver showing, and I used a spray shine to enhance it. Everyone loves it it, as do I. I think your new color looks very natural and complimentary. But this may not be your time. If you aren't comfortable with it yet, just wait and try again later.

(I was going to mention your youthful blond look a couple of months ago🤗) It lightens your face and makes you look 10 - 20 years younger. I loved how you rolled it up and how you wore the blond hairpiece buns, so pretty 😍. I know " gray" is now sold in a box color in all stores , lol. I am 59+ and color my hair as a brunette, my natural hair color to cover my gray/ white hair. Everyone tells me they think I am in my ' 40s🎉😮😉🎉, so why not pass your mirror feeling younger, especially if Jim loves your pretty blond hair🤗😉🌞. My girl, this look is STUNNING, its so luscious and glossy looking, and it makes your face pop! The luster makes me call this color "silver" not "gray," its *gorgeous*. As long as its affordable, I'd keep it up! But of course, in the end, its up to you--YOU need to feel happy with it ❤
This color looks classy and bright eyed on you. I’m 79 and within the last few years have gone all silver. It was hard to look at myself and realize that was the new me but I’m really happy with it now. Lots of people tell me it looks so fab and the others don’t say anything al all. Which I appreciate. Yes the makeup will change but that’s kind of fun too.

10+ years ago I had chemo treatment and decided that whatever colour my hair was when it grew back, that's what I would live with. I was so tired of dying my roots every 3 weeks. My natural hair colour is very similar to yours - white in the front, mid-brown in the back (okay, more salt-and-pepper now). I love it. I get compliments on it all the time. So, of course, I LOVE your new colour. You say it makes you feel old and I get it but, frankly, Patti, I find it makes you look perfect. I found the blonde made you look (and forgive me for this...) like you were trying too hard to stay young. The fact that hubby likes it should tell you something, too. Of course, I had months to get used to mine (as it grew back in after chemo) while yours changed in an afternoon but I think you'll like it, especially once you get the number of compliments I'm sure are coming your way.
When you’ve changed colours it’s really no time to makes decisions on the resulting colour because it’s going to fade so quickly. Then you’re going to have to keep the roots upkeep to an extent, so u colours the roots again then u need to get use and adjust your thinking again on the results. I’ve bleached and toned since I was 16. My Aunt I was very close to was a stylist specializing in colour so once she taught me how to formulate colours I had a blast. But just turning 74 Vi have reached the point where like you said, I’m focusing only on the colour I’ve had for years being what Gi liked most and I’ve got to get use to having a new me and settle for a “tri” coloured white, no yellow at all, white, using a very light ash toner then pulling hairs thru a cap in 2 more diff coloured grey, maybe needing to only colouring twice a year. Say goodbye to the blonde yellow toning shades, it time I’m telling myself.
I also had chemo and came back and beautiful salt & pepper. I've had so many compliments on it. It takes a bit of adjustment..but who cares...I have hair!

I had a bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy finished 8 months ago, I always loved my beautiful long dark blonde straight hair, losing it was tough, it grew back in dark grey and super curly which has been ridiculously hard to deal with, but being 48 years old i didn't want to stay full grey so i recently opted to dye it back to similar to my natural dark blonde color, its true what patti says, hair is just hair its like painting the walls, but i never knew the huge emotional impact it had on me and my self esteem until it was gone, I look forward to going full grey at some point but felt it was too soon since it was chemically induced, i feel much better having some color back but I'm still dealing with the chemo curls which are tragic and a big change for me, I have to constantly remind myself of the sacrifices that had to be made for my health, its still hard to deal with though lol
I don't know how old you are, but right now I'm going on 68. I stopped dyeing my hair when Covid hit. My sides are white, the rest is a mixture of steel gray and blackish. I also have a blackish medium streak in the middle of my forehead that refuses to go away. I loved my lavender hair when I had it. But my hair starting thinning and I started getting some balding spots, not noticeable as I do my best to cover them up. Long story short, I get so many compliments. Some ppl even ask if I had it done professionally. Can you imagine? I love the way my hair looks. I love my white, steel gray and dark hair. I can't wait til it turns all white. I hope it blinds everyone 😅.
Patti, honestly, it looks so uh…sophisticated I think is the word. The front is a beautiful color. I’m like you, my grey is white and it’s around my face. Yes, I was wondering if you felt that way. My husband asked if I wanted grey because it’s so in fashion, and I too had the “concern ”, that it would age my look. We had the conversation a few nights ago if we thought others thought of us as “elderly”. Bill said, “ya think?” But I said, aside from my aged body, I don’t feel old at all. He agreed, we feel perhaps in our, not teens, but certainly 30’s or 40’s. We’re both in our early 60’s. Age, as we age, grows to be a frame of mind. There is so little about people who are in their wiser years in the media, that we really don’t know what to expect. However, I do see this trend beginning to change.
You’ve already been in your house that long! ? Time certainly passes quickly. We were fortunate to see circus solei (sp) in LasVegas once, and the theme was The Beatles. I also, was on the edge of my seat. Such talent.
Your hair is yes, your decision. Mine is blonde and the grey in a white color. My maternal grandmother had all white hair as her grey, naturally. I once colored my hair dark brown, as a change. The very first fhing I said was, I look like my mom! I also felt old. Thank you Patti for being so honest. It made me feel less guilty knowing someone I admire felt similarly.

Patty, I love the new look. I color my hair (blonde), and I can say that no matter what, I'm always a bit dissapointed. It takes about 2 weeks until I'm happy. With that being said, I would suggest that you give yourself a 2 week window before you make your final assessment. Also, I think that the current color looks younger on you. It is normal to make changes to your makeup when the hair color changes. You have beautiful facial features and at 80 you are stunning. I think a little more deeper blush is what you might be looking for. So, love your new look. Take a bow!

I am 62 and have decided in the past month to let my grey grow out. Now my husband and one son wants me to continue to color and am just tired of doing it. I quit hiding my salt and pepper gray back in 2019. I don’t regret it at all!! I get many compliments on it- when I do it LOL. Go for it! It takes time but so worth it!!!

Patti you are a beautiful woman!! I'm 74. This year in July I will be 75 years old. I tried letting my hair go natural when the gray/white hairs started coming. I'm Italian. Both mother and father were Italian. Grandparents came to America on a ship to Ellis Island in New York. I had very dark hair all my life until I was in my 40s and decided I wanted to become a blonde. My mother and all her sisters did the same thing. I loved being a blonde! Well just 2 months ago when I was getting whiter and whiter every time I looked in the mirror I gasped! In my mind I'm still a young 20 year old woman lol 😂!! I was starting to get depressed so I called my hair dresser and said "Nicole I want to be blonde again". I'm so happy I did it! I feel great with the beautiful color and I believe I look younger. Nicole did not have to use bleach on my hair. I found your RUclips channel because of Nanny and Moosie. I have watched some of your older videos and you were absolutely gorgeous as a blonde! Don't get me wrong. You are a beautiful woman no matter what. But if you're looking for some honest opinions I like you with the blonde hair much better. As a hairdresser… you can add a little dish soap ( like dawn) to your shampoo and ‘ scrub it out and it will lighten up….follow with a conditioner.

Retired barber here-most people have darker hair in the back when they start graying. The weird part is some people get darker in the back even more than their former natural color was.

Love it! I gave up coloring my hair 14 months ago and still have about 8 inches of the old blond at the ends. I had to completely change my makeup colors. Mine is white around the front and darker gray at the top and back. I chose not to use a toner or gloss because I wanted to see what my natural color and texture were going to be. There have been days when I just wanted to run to the drugstore and get some hair color! It took me a year to get rid of all my hair coloring paraphernalia.

You look great with either hair color. But the silver in your hair looks fabulous on you and I think it compliments your beautiful eye color so well! Unfortunately ( I just turned 60) 80 percent of my hair has turned white and not this beautiful silvery gray that you have. So for now I am sticking to a silver blond color.
Just seen the new hair, was unsure it was so different, then I went back to your previous video. This looks so much better because the old hair was all pale grey at the front and the blond looked like a separate ponytail. I still liked the blond but it needed more coverage at the front. However let’s see how it fades but looking good so far.
Patti, try adding a silvery wrap piece to your bun part..at the back or crown… wherever you like your bun to be. You will then see the lighter color blended in with the darker. It would be stunning I think! 😍😍😍
