    You can actually build a plasma window ON TOP of the gravity anomaly (literally on the same tile of the anomaly) to completely block off radiation, and so only having to use 2 plasma glass. It's a bit tricky to build since the anomaly will keep pulling and reset your progress, but if you are careful and keep inching back to your original spot while it's pulling you, it's completely doable.
    Same going for Ice and Heat anomalies, although the reason as for why you'd want to build a window on top of them is not radiation obviously (so doesn't necessarily have to be a plasma window), but to block off the heat and cold that each constantly emits at each pulse. Though for the heat one, there is also indeed that spacing set up shown, which is arguably even better.

    The gravity anomaly is pretty safe when the rads is contained with plasma glass.
    What is not safe is the angry mob that's yelling at sci for having themselves and their things thrown around by the pulses.

    After being a complete anomalist twice, looking out for two anomalies at the same time, not letting them go crit, and always watching for them to provide points, and those shifts were going almost in a row, I just feel completely different, watching this video...

      embarrassing as hell when i had an RD shift and had no clue how to put better parts we were given into the anomaly vessel, but i guess it was marginally less embarrassing that the only other scientist also had no clue

    The only time my science team was able to contain a flesh anomaly for a long period of time was having an artifact spawn it in a artifact chamber. We were able to just space that room and have the mobs die in there. For some reason the mobs were only spawning within the chamber as well. It was interesting.

    if you put an APE directly next to the rock anomaly with no tiles between them, will it ever be blocked by rock generation? If not then you could keep it fully automated in the right spot like that

    • @Liltenhead
      @Liltenhead  11 месяцев назад +2

      rocks can spawn on the ape itself.

  • @Pasakoye

    Once we can dye or paint individual objects somehow, I think a color spraying one would be cool. everything on the selected tiles the color changed. Chaotic and I would guess harmless.

    Had fun with a rock anomaly in sci on marathon. Anomaly psawned in artifact room and the rd decided to go put an artifact in chamber just as it pulsed. The sci was in a race against time to free the rd before every space in that chamber became rock and the rd suffocated. In end it was a massive task with sec helping out but as i was mining the last rock i died to my wounds and the rd suffocated encased in rock. I think 5 of us died in that rescue attempt including an engineer and it hadnt even gone supercrit. We had pickaxe as well but mobs are quite dangerous. My advise is to ignore the gemstone rocks as those have potential to contain mobs unless u really need to break rock.
    Also once seen a liquid anom go supercrit and kill 20 crew members at the bar.

    Does electrical anomaly provide free power to station?, can you attatch a wire to it or something to tap it?
    Need a Tesla coil, where when not fully charged, it becomes priority target for lightning and electricity,
    When fully charged. it zabs nearby valid target. But can set up to drain from to harvest elec anomalys.

    They should definitely let you contain the meat anomalies with railings again. Just walling anomalies off is usually boring but in this case it was fun both to build and to try slipping through as a shortcut.

    If you could keep a cold and a heat anomaly contained relatively close together, you could make a pretty nifty zero-resource-consumption TEG engine!
    ...Or just a heat anomaly and radiators, I guess.
    ...but AFAIK we have gas miners on all current maps, so I suppose infinite fuel/oxidizer and infinite room temperature coolant coupled with the infinite void of space to exhaust to kinda make gaming alternate heat/cold sources kinda moot.

    20:24 It's more fun to not space the tile so when a random person goes to remove the glass, 🔥
    As for keeping the meat anom, if it spawns in a good spot, glass off the area and lazer or space the area. They will sufficate to death and earn free meat. I'm always down for a meat anom.

    I've spent what was like an entire shift trying to get rid of a meat anomaly in the observatory of salturn, i managed the mobs by spacing the room. I've never done this before but in theory if it spawns in a very open area, if you space the room you MIGHT be able to contain it but at that point it's probably too much work/hazard to keep.

      @@agustron2479 this was before RCDs were round start gear and had to be researched, I'm not completely sure if it's true or not, but the mobs spawn around the anomaly in a way that it's hard to not have them spawn outside of the spaced container without obstructing a large portion of an area

  • @catfoodbob1

    Proper containment for a liquid anomlay is getting atmo to box it in, and space the tile its on.

  • @iskyline1299

    What's funny is that I was using the remote signaler strategy on that shift with Hammy's funeral and the star seminar next door. (Turns out hamsters absorb radiation very well, especially when the anom isn't being watched directly...)

  • @Pascij
    @Pascij 11 месяцев назад +2

    One big advanced tipp more:
    When a anomaly is "growing" it will produce alot more points, means you can make them "grow" and about 20 seconds before it pulses you stable them, after that let it grow again and repeat, it's more effort but you get like 25% up to 50% more points.
    A really good video!
    Thanks for the great content and i hope you will keep it up :D
    I think you are the biggest and best content creater in english speaking videos for this game

    • @MrFizz27
      @MrFizz27 11 месяцев назад

      Every time you hit it with containment particles it loses health though right? So you'll eventually kill the thing this way.
      Short term would be worth more points though for sure
