Hi @Ail - I have an interview for a NOC Engineer positions and these questions are just on time - I hope to be relaxed and just answer to the best of my ability and work experience
Hahaha yup these outages, I feel you. I work at an ISP and we encounter outages daily. Layer 1 is more prevalent in large networks. First week after I was on-boarding was a 1000 customer outage, had 10 engineers on the bridge with me, all were looking for a solution from me. At that time I only had 8 months of experience, and was a network engineer 2 (got lucky) so I kinda freaked the hell out. But luckily I found the issue some how, I should have engaged the vendors faster, just got lucky.
@@AliMKRaja question? A small data center interface is flapping do too the antivirus team updates going out to 1000 hosts. What teams are you getting involved and what triage steps are you taking?
I was asked about SD-WAN and I didn't know what the SD was so I was honest and told them I didn't know and that I know WAN is wide area network. I was honest, thanks bro!
Hey Ali, I’m Israel from Ghana, been into networks for over 5 years. Built computer laps from start to finish. Now I want to get into NOC. What do I need to get me started in that direction.
For the question about checking DNS, you said check Triple A records, but there is no such thing correct? It is only A and AAAA. Can you please explain what you meant?
Being a firewall engineer providing MSP for clients the most annoying for me was when they ring up telling me they are experiencing packet loss and i should investigate it. I'm thinking it cant be the firewall. I later learnt that half the time these IT managers ring up everyone supporting their infrastructure to try and resolve the issue when they are not sure themselves where the problem is from. I usually end up sitting through webex sessions just listening to the client argue with the ISP provider.
I’m preparing for a Data center technician job interview so i’m watching and reading anything that have keywords like :Network , IP, DHCP,DNS#Cloud and so on😂😂❤
Thoughts on panel interviews? I did the phone interview with HR and did a zoom with the hiring manager. I now have a 3 person panel interview I believe with peers. Do you think these will be technical questions or more behavorial? My last Network Engineer interview was 10 years ago and it was seperate in person interviews :). I did recently interview for a part time cybersecurity position and the panel zoom part was not really technical.
I have an interview for a NOC/SOC tomorrow and my friend has one the day after that it's round 2 of the interview so we are both nervous. He sent me this and said it should help me with the nerves and it did really help me. I know something about what they might ask and I know how to answer some of the questions that they might have. I'll be honest and tell them that it's been a dream of mine to work in a NOC and I just always imagine myself doing that one day and that's why I want this job cause if I don't apply for those types of jobs then I'll never get them.
Thanks for the video, had an interview for a NOC engineer position and this video helped a lot.
Thank you!
yes bro really helpful , not only for me but for the whole Networking community . goodwork
Thank you

You are most welcome! Thanks for the comment.
Love the mic!!!!

For the question about checking DNS, you said check Triple A records, but there is no such thing correct? It is only A and AAAA. Can you please explain what you meant?
Your A record will map the domain to your physical IP. AAAA are only used for ipv6.
@@AliMKRaja Correct, but you said AAA and there is no such thing. Unless this was an error?
is there any future for noc engineer ,now a days everyone merging their application into cloud right ???
Where do you think cloud resides? Cloud is based on a full mesh network. Cloud doesn’t exist without networks.
@@AliMKRaja We might all end up working for the Big cloud providers in however many data centres and NOCs they run around the world
Great!
Thanks for the info. I have an interview in an hour 😄
Good luck

Lol that is hilarious but very true.
So true!! I just started a year ago as a tier 1 interviewing soon for tier 2

Having interview in next hours, will update you with the result 😅
Hope it went well!
Noc engineer and network engineer are they same?
Network engineer is a broader term. NOC engineer is a network engineer with narrowed scope of work
Thoughts on panel interviews? I did the phone interview with HR and did a zoom with the hiring manager. I now have a 3 person panel interview I believe with peers. Do you think these will be technical questions or more behavorial? My last Network Engineer interview was 10 years ago and it was seperate in person interviews :). Panel interviews will either be all technical or be part technical.
How many days they contact you after interview?
It depends on how busy they are, how many candidates etc sometimes timing is everything
@@AliMKRaja How about your experience?
Watching your Videos before my INTERVIEW Hahahah, Thank you Bro . Are you Pakistani Raja Bhai ?
Thank you and goodluck!
Thx❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

How did it go? I have an NOC interview in about 4 hours and in the same boat. This is their third interview so terrified.

@@michaelslabolepszy4736 it went great, I got the job but sadly had to leave it cause of some in house politics.
