It was cheesy.. His entire look with the jacket duster, jeans and cowboy boots wasn't rocking. He just walked out to the ring all boring. The lame effects in the storyline etc just wasn't 1998.. We wanted the Warrior to run down and beat everyone then leave lol That's all.. Instead we got some Russo pile of ilk

There was no bigger Warrior fan than me. I was a big fan of Sting and the nWo angle with Hogan, Hall, and Nash....but I watched a shit ton of WCW waiting for Warrior to show up. It was rumored he was coming in at Halloween Havoc 96, which turned out to be Piper. There were rumblings he was going to show up as the “impact player” that turned out to be Curt Hennig and Raven. Then word got out that WCW had finally signed him and were waiting for the right time to debut him....
The big rumor was that he was going to show up on Nitro as Sting’s tag team partner. Sting was 1/2 of the tag team champs and he promised to name a new partner on Nitro. Sting does a “who is it gonna be” promo and you could hear the crowd chanting for Warrior.....but it turned out to be Kevin Nash.
Then of course a few months later, Warrior finally did make his debut.....and I agree with Bischoff. It went on too long and he was talking nonsense. You can hear and see that the crowd is fucking amped when he shows up and he gets a few pops after he finished his sentenced, but little by little he starts losing the audience.
I feel like his debut was disappointing, but that it could’ve been salvaged. But I do blame WCW for what they did with him afterwards. The only real match he wrestled was against Hogan....even he said that it made no sense why they didn’t put him in the ring more often.
He had history with established history Savage, Rude, and Sting besides Hogan. They also could’ve had a dream match with Warrior vs Goldberg, although the right thing at that point wouldve been for Warrior to job clean to Goldberg and idk how willing Warrior would be doing business like that.

If you're ever curious how important organizational leadership and management are, consider this: WCW had at one time or another from 1994-1999, Hogan, Goldberg, Savage, Flair, Piper, Bret Hart, Sting, Luger, Nash, Hall, Steve Austin, Cactus Jack, The Giant, DDP, Booker T and Stevie Ray, the Steiners, Rick Rude, Bam Bam Bigelow, Jericho, Chris Benoit, Guerrero, Vader, Warrior, Jarrett, Sid, Raven, Konnan, Norman Smiley, Wrath/Adam Bomb, Ultimo Dragon, Juventud Guerrera, Meng, Psychosis, Brian Pillman, Arn Anderson, Scott Norton, 20 other cruiserweights, any Japanese wrestler they wanted, a strong mid-card division with Marc Mero, Disco Inferno, Perry Saturn, Hugh Morris, William Regal, Billy Kidman, Buff Bagwell, Kanyon, Crush, Rey Mysterio, the Nasty Boys, Jimmy Hart, Mean Gene, Bobby the Brain, Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, Jim Ross, Dustin Reynolds with no face paint, an extra hour of broadcast TV, a bonus Thursday night program, and the best gimmick (the nWo) in wrestling history and LOST the Monday Night Wars.
Several of them had career-ending injuries in matches that weren't shoots, several others had serious nearly career-enders, many were misused, squandered, unappreciated, or otherwise buried. Vince beat them with Steve Austin after a broken neck, turning Rocky into The Rock, Cactus Jack wearing a mask or tie-dye t-shirt with a sock puppet finisher, HBK addicted to pain killers, the Undertaker conducting satanic rituals wearing guy liner in the 90s, the Road Warriors with a cobbled together tag team division from ECW and new talent like Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz, and his own version of the nWo in DX with just 6 members. He took Jericho from a "cruiserweight" to Y2J and the first Undisputed Champion in history. He turned Dustin Reynolds into Goldust. He later turned Benoit, Guerrero, and Mysterio into heavyweight champions. He humbled himself, stepped off the microphone duties he loved, let JR become the greatest announcer in wrestling history, and after crushing WCW, welcomed back Hogan, Hall, Nash, and anyone else who could draw money with open arms, at least long enough to take a Pedigree.

Warrior seems to be saying that WCW had a lot of problems, same as all the other wrestlers. Granted he had a decent run in the WWF for 4 or 5 years but featuring him more wasn't the answer. He lacked the political influence in that company. Also lacked any allies amongst the other wrestlers. Someone like Piper had issues with other wrestlers in WCW but he could always fall back on working with Flair and some others. Don't hear any of the WCW guys kicking themselves over not working with Warrior.

Hogan rarely lost, was basically invincible, and had clean image.
Flair lost as much as he won, was flawed in more ways than I can count, and has an image that was far from perfect.
Which has aged better (and I’m talking about in terms of legacy here)?

They lost ALOT... of money getting Warrior into WCW and didn't care about making it back and profiting big time by building up a remach. Even the average wrestling fan knew this. They all did it to make Hogan happy and got rid of Warrior as soon as Hogan won. Forget the money as long as my buddy Hulkster is happy they'll do it even if the Company goes all crashing down and it goes bankrupt 😐...???

Wcw was notorious for doing the same with other wrestlers especially Bret Hart. Never used him to his fullest potential in the company. He did have some really good matches and feuds with Piper and Savage but he never was the wrestler he was in WWF. Same with the Warrior only his short end of the stick was much shorter and was only there so Hogan could say he beat Warrior. Hell their match at Wrestlemania was one of the Biggest and most memorable moments in the history of pro wrestling while both wrestled for McMahon in WWF. In wcw the rematch was pure shit and it was not anywhere near the spectacle that their original was. WCW let everyone down with a lot when it came to certain wrestlers, story lines and just matches in general much like “the finger poke of doom” the rematch between hogan and warrior was just another major disappointment!

WakeUpDead2021 I disagree. I think Bret was the exception, plus I don’t feel like he was a guy who could carry a company into the mainstream like Hogan, Austin, or Rock. In Bret’s documentary, Vince talked about he would’ve built the entire organization around Bret....I found that funny because Vince never even did that when he had him.
During Bret’s initial run, the belt was taken off of him for Hogan. Then Vince tried to make Luger his guy and only gave the title back to Bret when the Luger experiment failed. Then almost immediately after, Vince tried building Diesel. When that failed, Vince had Bret drop the title to Bret so he could give Shawn Michaels a 5 star match. Then Bret gets the title only to lose it a day later bc Vince was trying to build Sid, then when he won it for the last time, the wheels were already in motion for Austin to be the face of the company.
Plus, when you compare WWF and WCW, WCW had a much better track record of appreciating former WWF stars than WWF did with WCW stars. For all of the bitching Bret has done about his time in WCW, youd think we’d have heard a lot more from Dusty Rhodes, Vader, and Ron Simmons.

If you want to see wrestlers do actual wrestling moves, you have Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit and Bret Hart for those reasons. Not everybody has to wrestle like that.
