That child actress is absolutely amazing, she moves me to tears EVERY time.
Agreed.. 👍🇺🇸
Came here to say this.
Not a fluke, either. Her filmography is STACKED with ridiculous performances for someone her age.
What are you TALKING about. She has just few things after this movie or before and nothing really you or anyone would know of.
Yes the daughter had me in tears at the end. I never feel for any of the characters in 28 day or world war Z the kids were just annoying.
I don't care how badass you think you are, how tough you act, nothing. If you get to the final scene of Seok-Woo turning into a zombie and his last thoughts are the memories and the love for his daughter and you DON'T at least choke up.... you lost your soul long ago.
Well, I was offended he didn't just throw the villain off the train...he had all day to just throw him over the railing before he turned fully. I mean, here he is, dealing with that exact situation all day, knows what's up, seen it a billion times, and he just waits? At that point, I saw what the director was doing and just felt resentment. Great film, wouldn't mind daddy dying if it made sense, but it doesn't
@@porkfrog2785 Yes, his death felt "forced"..
He also fought his foil, what he would become if he didn’t change attitude
My thoughts were 'How the fuck can you be so stupid, Jesus Christ'
Normally, a scene like that would have floored me. But I ended up hating him so much I didn't care. He left his kid unattended multiple times and could have easy threw the guy from the train at the end. Instead, he actually put his hand in the guys mouth. Absolute douche of a dad.
no matter how many times i watch this film it still gets me emotionally, even now watching you guys react to it i'm in tears hahah
Same haha, the little girl crying over her father at the end. Everytime ! 😭😭
As a dad to two little kids i have a really hard time watching this. But I hope that's how I die, remembering the first time I met them
Yes..😭😭😭😭😭
Same 🤣😭
youre not alone girl
Here I am, still crying even I already know the story line 🥺
If they are bitten on an extremity (the hand or wrist) it takes a while for the zombie juice to circulate and enter the brain. If they are bitten on the neck, they turn almost instantly.
I would also think the thigh because of the femoral artery.
@@am-ranth8955 I think the location of the bite does make a difference. Say, rabies for example, it is a lot deadlier if the bite is closer to the head. But rabies work on the nerves tho. Guess I'll just leave the explanation to creative liberties that have been reused and recycled that people now take as a rule unless given a proper explanation within the movie.
@@rianne-1719 Yeah I think its more because of the nerves. Like skin cancer often spreads to the blood which easily circulates throughout the body causing the spread of cancer if I’m not mistaken. As far as I know, blood would circulate too fast to let it make that much of a difference.
Zombie juice lmao 😆
One more thing, He' trying to fight for it.
Shaun: "I think a lot of people will be pleased that we're watching this finally."
Yes sir. And I would be one of them.
This movie surprised me quite a bit. I was getting pretty tired with zombie stuff but had heard good things about the movie, so I gave it a watch, and, oh boy, I did not regret it! It easily rocketed to the top spot of my favorite zombie movies list. I don't know what sort of magic they used, but they got you to genuinely care for every character, which is very unlike western-produced horror movies. In those movies, you either really don't care or are happy to finally be rid of their insufferability. And Train To Busan has character arcs, holy sh*t! If it wasn't obvious enough the antagonist was pretty much a representation of what the protoganist was on the road to becoming; this super self-centered a-hole that only looks out for number one. All it took is a zombie apocalypse for him to realize how awful that future self truly is... And I cried at that ending. I never cry watching movies, but that little girl's wailing certainly touched strings I forgot I had, lol.
It's also interesting how the antagonist told the little girl that if she doesn't behave or study well (don't remember exactly) she would end up like the homeless guy and she told him off and then at the end you see how the homeless guy was a better person than the antagonist despite being homeless and him being rich.
@@doriluz94 Yup, that was a bit of irony, because obviously, being educated doesn't automatically mean you're a better person, or vice versa. There's more to being human than just that obviously.
@@xen0bia exactly, I love that they captured those little details in the movie
You know it was actually the protagonist fault that the zombie apocalypse started in the first place
@@ihatetwitter8644 It wasnt the protagonist's fault, he didnt know what his company was doing. He cant be blamed for the corrupt actions of his higher ups.
I watched this before I was a dad and it got me sad. Now I am a dad I find the ending so hard to watch. The little girl is so good
Yep, that's a proper *right in the FEELS* moment.
a man's life is divided by B.D and A.D.
ya know props to the stunt man who just jumps up and slams his face into the train window, that couldn't have felt good lol
The badass guy that played the husband of the pregnant woman will be in The Eternals.
That moment you realise if you just hid in the train toilet you might survive...
I mean that's how I deal with TFL ticket inspectors anyway...
@@aidanfarnan4683 brilliant 😂
Well at least until the train stopped, because how long can you stay in the bathroom without food/water.
@@tbirum Since the film took over the space of a day the i think you'll be alright hiding in the toilet for that long. When they stopped, just get food from the cart or any nearby vending machines, then go back and hide.
@@nocturnalcove9736 That is assuming you do not come into contact with a Zombie when searching for food (or multiple Zombies) and then how long do you stay in the bathroom? 2 days? a week? a month? With fast moving Zombies the entire country is going to be overwhelmed in a matter of days. At some point you need to get somewhere where you have a VAST stockpile of food/water, and your shelter is near impenetrable. A bathroom stall on a train is NOT a permanent solution.
It's definitely fair to say that Koreans do cinema VERY well. I would recommend "The witch: Part 1. The subversion". Great review as always👍
yes! i loved the film, it surprised me honestly
"The Man From Nowhere" might be more up their alley, but yeah, definitely.
Busan 2 though.....eeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhh.....we don't ever bring up that sequel lol
@@krismarshall3803 sequel? what sequel /j
The witch...definitely watchable.
The action and the 3rd act...wow.
Really great writing...i hope there will be a sequel to this.
The child actor in this was beyond amazing she made me ugly cry when I first watched this movie
I don't think there's a film I want to see on a big screen in a theater more than this one. That little girl just rips my heart out at the end no matter how many times I see it.
I don't think I'll ever be able to watch this movie without crying
This movie takes you on a emotional rollercoaster you're just not prepared for. I cried again.
I really love how this is a true hero arc... where Seok-Woo is contrasted by the Husband (the Hero) against the Corporate Man (the Foil). He had the positive and negative traits of both men, but ultimately chose the Hero's path.
Not me crying watching this with you guys even though I’ve seen the movie three times because it’s just so good
literally same
Same
Not your fault, it's the DVD subtitles fault actually, but I think you guys missed a lot by not having subtitles for the song the little girl was singing at the end. I remember I cried my eyes out with that final scene. This is my favorite Korean movie ever, it even tops Parasite for me.
You should watch "Snowpiercer" and "The Host" by Bong Joon-Ho
Don’t forget Memories of Murder
Definitely memories of murder
I STILL haven't seen Snowpiercer. Keep telling myself I'll watch it later, and when I get the time it's off Netflix or whatever.
I have like five streaming services now, should be on at least one of them.
Maybe not Crunchyroll
And "A Tale of Two Sisters" from 2003
Snowpiercer is terrible
As a Korean, I would like to recommend these korea horror, thriller movies as well.
Thirst(2009)
The Chaser(2008)
The Yellow Sea(2010)
A Tale Of Two Sisters(2003)
Epitaph(2007)
R point(2004)
Yes!! Also I Saw the Devil is a favourite of mine too
@@is2JR And I would add Memories of Murder to the list. And Asura: The City of Madness.
A Tale Of Two Sisters was my first Korean horror film I ever watched so many years ago and it is still my favorite.
A tale of two sister was my first Asian horror movie for me when I was a kid, lol that traumatized me as a kid oof
Ma Dong Seok, the actor who plays Sang Hwa, the husband of the pregnant woman here, is one of my favorite Korean actors. He's filmography is prolific and pretty amazing, including, "Kundo: The Age of the Rampant", "The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil", "The Flu", and 2019's "Ashfall". He will be playing Gilgamesh in the upcoming MCU movie "Eternals". Can't wait!
"Parasite" is a must watch! it's a korean film that won an oscar
And the baseball player is in there too, also in The Witch.
FUN FACTS:
Baseball Boy is Choi Woo-Shik, who played Ki-Woo (Kevin) in Parasite
Awesome Dad-to-be is Ma Dong-Seok, who will be playing Gilgamesh in MCU’s Eternals and will go by his American name Don Lee.
Ma Dong Suk (Don Lee) : eteranls
Baseball boy's girlfriend is Ahn So-Hee, South Korean idol singer member of Wonder Girls.
Gong yu and Kang dong won( Main character in 'Peninsula' ) are in-laws
The dad now hands out invites for the squid game
@@HimeGamer Yup. binged the entire series in one night, lol!
I made my cousin watch this in the cinima, she hates horror movies and I lied to her about it so she would go with me. She ended up loving it and became a huge fan of Gong Yoo
I am so, so glad that you guys watched this film! It's one of my absolute all time favourites. And how well the movie was shot, from beautiful angles and scenes to how they developed their characters in such a short time, I honestly admit that I usually end up crying a lot in this movie, which I normally don't do XD
This movie still has an intense effect on me. Never cried so much during a movie the first time I watched it.
This movie had me weeping at the end haha
Train to Busan is such a good movie that if your "friend" watched it and didn't convince you to watch it immediately, you must question if they are really your friend.
I made everyone I know watch it lol... watching them react was hilarious every time.
I think you guys would love Memories of Murder, if you haven't seen it yet. Amazing South-Korean move based on a true story.
This movie destroys me, every time, no fail. I even cried during your reaction. Hands down the best modern zombie film. So happy you finally watched it!
I always cry because S.K dramas and films period are just so got damn good. Inwas alrdy distraught from pops dying but when his daughter starting singing Aloha Oē I lost it completely. That song holds so much meaning to Hawai'i and it was so unexpected to hear it. Urgh so good
You’ve officially made my girlfriend extremely happy with this one. And that’s saying a lot since she loves your videos already. Great reaction guys!
"Kingdom" on Netflix, also korean is the best zombie series and should be your next. Beautifully shot and set during Joseon Dynasty, the last korean dynasty, before the criminal japanese occupation. If you study Korean history, you'll understand the emotion. 1000's of years of being constantly invaded by their greedy, war mongering neighbours, Korea somehow managed to survive not only as a nation but as a culture. Absolutely beautiful country and beautiful people who are just getting the recognition they deserve for their perseverence, determination and hard work.
The guy saying that the government would solve it reminded me of my government saying the exact same thing before doing nothing when dealing with covid
This movie was so well done. Made me extremely anxious as well as emotional.
Great reaction. This is my fave zombie film! It's an emotional roller coaster that'll hit you in the feels, great actors, really well made movie.
i honestly cannot express my appreciation for this channel enough. you lads are helping me through tough times, this channel is so cozy and such a lovely relief. thank you so much for what you do !!!!
I never expect to cry when I'm watching zombie movies and this is the first time I cried watching one. It was so heartbreakingly beautiful I couldn't stop crying. Love this movie so much!
Really made me smile to hear y’all wonder about character development in this film, that’s when I knew you guys had a real treat coming your way
There's an animated movie called "Seoul Station" that takes place in the same timeline as Train to Busan which is worth checking out!
It's a prequel to Train. I'd advise to watch it first before Train because it's a huge letdown watched the other way round.
@@piehard136 pretty bad lmao even the animation felt very subpar
Yeah I enjoyed that one
I did not know that thanks have to check that out.
I didn't know that, thank you for letting me know! There is also Pennisula which isn't a sequel but takes place in the same cinematic world as Train to Busan (it's set in the future after Train to Busan)
The build up to the 2nd act was amazing, the deer, the burning building, the man being attacked outside the train window, this movie is amazing in more ways than one.
“If this was our country....”
“Go to the Winchester, have a pint and wait for this all of this to blow over.” 😏
I hope that little girl won some awards. Brilliant performance.
All it took was this film to declare myself a Ma Dong Seok (aka "Badass") fan. I´ve seen nearly everything he´s made, and he has made some stinkers, but everything´s better just by virtue of him being there. He´ll soon be appearing as one of Marvel´s "Eternals". Here´s hoping it´s his big international break!
I didn’t know he’ll be in it...I’m so happy now! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
bro that guy who was like a worker in the train with the messed up eye legit worried about the other people more than himself
that man deserves a legit award for sacrificing himself just for strangers
Just preparing myself for the tears that I know are going to happen, this movie gets me everytime
No matter how many times I see this movie and the reactions to it, I always cry.
Gotta be one of the best zombie films ever. And the dad's arc is incredible. The badass with the pregnant wife acts as the angel on the dads shoulder, the good side and what he wanted to be, and the business man who serves as the main human antagonist is the devil on his shoulder, the bad side and what he believed he had to become to make all the right decisions for his daughter. He listens to them both at some point in the movie and until he see the sacrifice the badass guy does for his wife and unborn child is the moment he realises everything he done for his daughter has been wrong and that he's got to change into a better man, not only for others but for his daughter as well and that stays with him until the very end. Bra - f*cking - vo, this film is terrifying, heart wrenching and a true pleasure to watch every time.
This is by far one of my favorite movies of all time! Just 10/10 for me it’s so well done. Alsoooo... Ma Dong-seok, aka the badass husband/dad is the best character to come from a horror/thriller and he is the DEFINITION of a Zaddy 😂😂 ahahah never knew I could fall in love in such a bloody ass movie lmao
Yes he was fantastic, my favourite character in it
Can't wait for him in the eternals
I hope not only me appreciated the heroism of the Homeless guy not just once, but twice. First, when he covered a cloth to the zombie's head who's attacking Gong Yoo's character, second when he sacrificed his life for the pregnant woman and the little girl. :((
One of my favorite characters in this masterpiece.
Watched this in theaters with my tough as nails dad. I’m his only daughter. He was in tears at the end.
Korean cinema is probably the best cinema of (at least) the last 20 years. Bong Joon Ho's ''Memories of Murder'', ''The Host'', ''Mother'', ''Parasite'', Hong-jin Na's ''The Chaser'', ''The Yellow Sea'', ''The Wailing'', Jee-woon Kim's ''A Tale of Two Sisters'', ''A Bittersweet Life'', ''The Good, The Bad and The Weird'', ''I Saw the Devil'', Jeong-beom Lee's ''The Man From Nowhere''', and Chan-wook Park's ''Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance'', ''Oldboy'', ''Lady Vengeance'', ''Thirst'' and ''The Handmaiden''.
That's a great list. I would LOVE to see them react to The Yellow Sea. That movie is undeniable.
Thirst is one of my favorites. It's so different, but I feel a lot of people wouldn't "get it". I think Tom and Shaun would though, they seem to analyze and understand things that other reactors don't.
@@tk421zz
The Yellow Sea is great! Watched it 3 times in one month!
That music that played when the father fell off the end of the train, that was heartbreaking and so many great shots in this film!
I think you both would like the Korean movie "The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion". It's a 2018 thriller mystery that has won several awards and actually has the same actor (Choi Woo-shik) as the baseball boy in Train to Busan. The sequel is also supposed to come out this year!
the dad's death at the end was SO very animé, with the shadow falling. ♥
Congrats. You are the first reactors who didn't cry :D
I sobbed at this movie. Along with my girlfriend.
This is the most beautiful zombie movie that will ever be created.
When this came out, it became my favorite 'horror' movie and I had to show it to everyone I know. I love watching people still discovering it!
3:19 "Oh deer..." Ok, I will give you that one :)
10/10 for me. “Train to Busan” transcends all genres’ excellency and tops it all. This movie will go down in history and will be a legend.
Another South Korean film you MUST watch is "I Saw the Devil"!!!!
Gong Yoo who play Seok-Woo, he's also in kingdom in netflix another korean zombie genre but it's a tv series and in my opinion one of greatest show then walking dead. it's take place in ancient time and gong yoo play as crown prince. there also kingdom: ashin of the north. hopeful you guys would love it.
Yes the Dad dying was heartbreaking but for me the teenagers who showed such maturity and strength losing their fight was so fucking devastating.
I would love to see your reaction to the scene, where the younger sister of the old siblings saw her older sister turning into zombie and decided to open the door and released the zombies, which eventually killed everyone in that car because they couldn't escape from it since they locked themselves up. In my opinion, that scene is pure class and iconic and those people had to pay the price for their own selfishness. Brilliant scene I have to say
I haven't watched the sequel, Peninsula, but they do have an animated prequel called Seoul Station that shows how the infection started and it's really good! I'd reccomend giving it a watch even if it's not something you'll post to the channel
The sequel is awful, I was hugely disappointed. However, Train to Busan is Amazing!!!
My daughter told me not to bother watching Peninsula bc it was so bad. So I didnt
@@kimberlyjeanne9456 it's not "bad", as such. It's just a completely different style and tone of film set in the same world as Train. It's also 100% *not* what people want from the property, so naturally it's disappointing.
As a standalone zombie actioner, it's..."fine", I guess. And that's about it. People expecting another T2B from a film that isn't even remotely trying to be that are naturally going to be upset. 😀
I didn't know about the animated prequel ! o_o THANK YOU !
Seoul Station is amazing... Peninsula is s good zombie movie but can't compare to the sequels.
no matter how many times I see this movie, it never fails to amaze me. it has everything a movie should have and then some. zombie movies always lack character development but this movie has it for damn near every single character. it has amazing actors, it has an overarching plot that everyone can understand, and of course it has the action and gore. train to busan cannot be beat imo
Yes! This is one of the best zombie films of all time! Good choice guys! Another South Korean film you two need "I Saw the Devil (2010) and "The Man From Nowhere (2010)." I'm loving these South Korean film reaction, please continue to watch more.
YES I Saw the Devil is AMAZING!!!
Yeeees! Both of those are divine top notch cinema! My faves 🖤
Both of those are so good. The little girl in the man from nowhere is as good as the young girl in train to busan.
not me still crying even with just seeing bits and pieces of the movie
I hope you guys get around to "I Saw The Devil" at some point. Amazing flick!
Now that you guys love Korean films, if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend "The Raid" and "The Raid: Redemption". Excellent action and jump takes, awesome fight scenes and a great ending!
I would love to see you guys react to more foreign language films. The man from nowhere(2010) is one of the best action movies ever made. You'll see some of the most well choreographed fight scenes ever. I guarantee you guys would love it👍
Ugh yes!!!! Lol, I’m definitely a fight scene snob and this will always remain top five for me. Fabulous choreo.
@@maegena818 it is. imo the greatest knife fight scene ever
Shabeeb P lol, in my opinion too! I’ve seen it at least a dozen times and it never gets any less exciting or awesome
Won Bin's last movie *sobs*
Made for $10 million, made over a $100 Million around the world. Try that, Hollywood!
Bruh when the dad got infected/fell off the train, it was soon emotional.
i love how su an calls the homeless guy Old Man
Such a heartbreaker in my opinion the best zombie film. It is such a good movie!!
I watch this movie last night after having seen your reaction. OMG What a movie, love it.
SO excited about this one!! Please check out two other AMAZING South Korean movies I Saw the Devil and Memories of Murder!!
Add The Chaser to the list! :)
The song at the end, what the child sang was the song that she had to sing in school in front of their parents. But her father was busy and he never had time to listen to that song. I guess she is singing it for her dad at the end of the movie.
I love this movie and honestly I was crying like a little baby by the end. At a zombie movie. Sigh. It gets me every time.
Also I don't how many times I screamed kill that business man!
I know you don't do TV shows, but a really good zombie TV show from Korea is Kingdom. Fantastic and on Netflix!
I really liked your comment of Embrace it, as a Korean trait. Acceptance of ‘other’ and allowing one’s self to be led by a film, rather than requiring a film to meet one’s requirements or expectations, is another aspect of ‘willing suspension of disbelief’.
As explained by my introduction to Korean Cinema, My Sassy Girl (Which i highly recommend a reaction to), Koreans love their melodrama.
This movie featured about a third or fourth of the gore of what is expected from a zombie flick yet managed to surpass a lot of those films in terms of how effective it was
The sound design though. Those crunchy squelchy sounds certainly made it seem more gory in a way lol
Oh my God, I was waiting for this one since I saw a comment in another video. This is such a good way to distract myself from what's going on in my country, so thank you 😭❤
Your reaction when that hobo guy stepped on a can was hilarious! 😂
Very happy to see you guys reacting to some Korean thrillers. I highly recommend I Saw The Devil and A Bittersweet Life.
I Saw The Devil is amazing
Also 'The Yellow Sea' and 'The Man From Nowhere'
@@sadmachine7486 The Man From Nowhere is great. Haven't watched The Yellow Sea yet, will have to put that one on my watchlist.
I saw this on RUclips a while back, out of curiosity as a YT recommendation. I HATE Zombie movies, but this one had me hooked after the Deer got back up. The Roller Coaster of emotions from Fear/Dread/Anger/Sorrow was really something. Kudos to the writers, director, actors, and especially the stunt performers who created this modern classic movie. (Hollyweird is going to remake this? Dream on.) South Korea can eat their Lunch and show them how to make movies, since they've forgotten the craft. Another reviewer, living in South Korea has suggested that this train is retracing the flight of refugees fleeing the North Korean invasion in the Summer of 1950.
Just watch the films starring Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun or Choi Min-sik and you won't go wrong. Also 'The Chaser'.
I saw the devil!
@@massimoblanco2132 I saw the devil is fucking incredible...Choi Min-sik is just a bloody God in everything I see him in...
Every time I've seen this film I am astounded by the performances of the zombie background actors!
The cast of characters and their subplots / jobs always reminded me of the characters in the original "Posiedon Adventure" from the early 70's. The whole idea of being stuck on the train moving to another section with zombies instead of a boat and water slowly overtaking the ship is also similar. I wouldnt be surprised if the writer used that movie as inspiration for Busan.
It's the way they introduce the characters. Very 1970s.
This is easily in my top ten favorite movies of all time, I'm so glad you two finally reacted to it =)
South Korea produces some of the best, exciting films these days.. please, watch Parasite, Memories of murder, the host, into the fire, the beauty inside, the admiral:roaring currents, along with the God, ode to my father, veteran, assassination, masquerade, a taxi driver, taegukgi, Haeundai, silmido.
You forgot about Oldboy
@@Silv3rXsFor your information, Cinema Rules watched Old Boy
The zombies in this film hands down are the scariest cause everything about them is monstrous and creepy when you’re bit by one and undergo the infection it’s like watching a demon possess someone right in front of you as they contort and convulse wildly with the haunting sounds of cracking bones accompanied by their screams of fleeting humanity being quickly replaced by the sounds of the shrieking roar, as the process completes they become monsters with only one desire, to spread and move on as quickly as possible.
And the speed of transformation depends on where you got bit-In the extremities, it takes a few minutes. But in the neck, INSTANTANEOUS!!!
I’m so happy you guys watched this one, it’s one of my favorites!

I just saw this and i really love watching you both reacting to this. The scenes you include in here is perfect, you really include the highlight scenes. Hope you react on more korean films.
