So I made this video before Catalyst came out. The book actually goes into more detail on the construction of the first Death Star, stating that the meridian was the first completed part. So my assumption that the first followed the same process as the second would be incorrect.
Well that's a bit odd. I was just going to say that the book said they built the Prime Meridian first at Geonosis before building outwards. Why start a video like this so early on, that was almost 3 weeks ago now. I didn't think these videos took that long to make usually, but maybe I'm wrong?
But then the lightsaber can still be turned on by any user post-owner. Example: Anakin Skywalker executing Dooku, General Grievous, Luke Skywalker with Anakin's saber ANH and ESB, Rey with Anakin's saber, and I think Obi Wan with Qui-Gon's saber. Do you know why this can happen? Do kyber krystals quickly form new bonds with the next user, or is that connection only through turning the lightsaber on and keeping it on through the force? If that is the case, why would owners add on/off switches to their lightsabers when keeping them switch free would make good safeties from any potential wielder? I'm just curious.
>Material Mine asteroids. Have unmanned probes bring the asteroids to unmanned floating factories in space. >workers Robots. The whole thing should be done in five years.

I think that after this Rogue One week you should explain a little about time perception and time parameters for the people in the Galaxy. I heard they count as "day" the 24-hour rotation cicle of Coruscant, and even considered as "Standard time". Can you confirm if that's true? Love your channel and your content, keep up with the nice stuff!
For those confused about the timescale of the construction of the first death star, the inconsistencies were explained away in the novel appropriately titled "Star Wars: Death Star", which stated that there were multiple false starts on the project and long periods of time where construction was halted so that the Empire could focus on other issues. Some sections weren't entirely planned out within the original blueprints and designs were changed on the fly to accommodate construction, which also slowed things down. The frame being assembled at the end of Episode III was likely disassembled at some point before the project was moved elsewhere for security reasons. That's why it took the Empire nearly twenty years to build the first Death Star, while the second one was already about half complete after only five years.
As a theorethical question - How would the outcome be if the Deathstar One was tossed against Deathstar 2 (If completed) and had a face to face combat based on the hardware capabilies? Johan.
Hey I am new to your channel and I think u are great. Could you pls do a video on what happened to the dead clones after each battle, was their armor reused and what kind of medicine did the clones use . Thanks 4 ur attention!;)
They actually detail a bit of the construction phases of the first death star in the book catalyst and also go into the research and development of most of the different components. if you haven't read it yet I really suggest it.
I remember reading the novel “Death Star" which goes through a lot of the construction of the station that after building the shaft and equator they started building a large section down like with the second Death Star, except they used it for workers quarters and other such facilities, they couldn't install the super laser until the final phases because it was still in development. With DS2 they didn't need to wait for the researchers to work out all the bugs on the giant laser.
How did the crew of the Death Stars go from one place to another? Was there any sort of transportation system or would you have to fly from one end to the other?
Can you make a video on this? What Palpatine's plan was for the empire assuming he would destroy the rebellion, turn Luke to the dark side, and then complete the second Death Star. I think this would make an amazing two or three part series and hope you will take this into consideration.
I always did assume that the 2nd Death Star had the laser operational early on. My guess is that it was never intended to have the full power of the original, but was going to be used in large battles against capital ships. Endor was going to be the test run.
found this very informing must say but its Equator, one word lol not Eee_ quator. sorry, couldn't resist. but still, cool video. I'm in full star wars mode now waiting for Thursday. though does it get released on the Wednesday night at midnight on your side of the pond?? because in Britain we're getting showings from 3pm on the Thursday??
from what i undesternd of catalyst, the development of the super leaser was not complete yet, so may be that is why it was the last part to be assmeble in the first one.
I wonder where the gravitional center of the Death Star lies, in other words, where do the people on it have their feet? Are they standing on platforms that are aligned from pole to pole, or does it work like on a planet, where they stand on the surface/slightly below it.
Can you make a video on how the Bothan spies got their hands on the plans for the second death star and why many of them died during their theft of the plans? :)
1:09 If the Galactic Empire had made the polar column exhaust shaft zig-zag from the north pole top to the southern pole, the Death Star would be immune to two Photon Torpedoes, leading to the reactor core. If anyone disputes that, I welcome a debate with whomever would want to talk about my theory you may.
+Star Wars Explained why do you think they put a death trooper in this movie when he's not in any of the others?& why make this movie didn't they tell in episode4 how they got the plans to blow it up,&why are they going out of order they made 7& now they're putting rouge one between 3&4 then Nex year have8& who is this evil in 7& why does all the darkside have to only come from this one family?

scientifically speaking they would have to build it like planet due to its size as instead of having horizontal levels from the polar shaft it would have to be a small sphere then a nether layer and so on. other wise the gravity on the death star would kill everyone
I doubt we'll see another super weapon, one of the biggest complaints about TFA was that it had "another Death Star" which apparently made TFA unoriginal. i think it would be safe to blame it on the arrogance and complacency of the empire/emperor who thought that having an army on the moon would suffice. although depending on how rogue one will turn out, they're not very good at learning from their mistakes
Yeah, I just thought that maybe a secure bunker miles deep would be good. One so deep unless you fell or used the transportation (Obviously with a deactivation switch at the bottom) it would take one day to go down would make a rebel attack on the one day and winning on the same day would be impossible. And a hidden hatch in the middle of the woods would be like someone with ridiculously heavy weapons being invisible.
That would make the generator construction far more expensive and would take more time to build it. Empire couldn't spend too much resources for the construction that was going to be used only during the construction of the station. On the other hand, the Empire could just build one more generator (it doesn't even need to be operational). So, when rebels blow it up, they believe that the shield is disabled, while the real generator still working.
The superlaser is nice and all, but imagine if it was just one huge moon-sized battlestation with thousands of Star Destroyers and trillions of soldiers to be deployed en mass. Like High Charity from Halo, like the capital of the whole Imperial Military.
Is Vaders super star destroyer pronounced like 'Eh-g-zec-u-tor' or as 'Ex-eh-cute-or'? I've heard it pronounced both ways on multiple videos across different channels, and it's really started to bother me; I just want to know how to say the ships name properly xD
Step 1: Become emperor of the galaxy. Step 2: Spend tax money on materials. Step 3: demand that the construction crews "double their efforts" step 4: fall down the reactor shaft and explode
SpockBorg5 rotation could be how it makes its artificial gravity: Centrifugal Force. After all thats how the International Space Station does it and presumably how the Earth does it

Sakari Sikari because a kyber krystal has connections with its user and when the user dies that connection is severed.
