I remember listening to this song when my girlfriend got married and left the country. I cried my eyes out for 2 straight days like a wuss. And now years later when I hear this song, a strange feeling overwhelms me.
I have a similar experience with dammit, it was so trippy cus I really did see her at the movies with another guy, so every time I hear that line it bring back all those memories
Every once in a while a song comes along that perfectly encapsulates both the band and the time of the band's existence. This is that song for blink-182. Everything about Carousel, from its initial conception, to the track laid down on Flyswatter, to its popularity at live shows, is just legendary. This song can be stripped down or built-up in so many different energies and styles that you almost want to classify it as primal in nature. Yet to classify it as anything other than blink-182 would be missing the point. Tom's impression of a lonely wolf's howl is at once haunting and inspiring, especially if you look at the context of his life at the time and how he has grown along with the other members (past and present) of blink.
so true haha, aswell: "I need a job just to sleep in sheets" and the misery at working in a store: "Buying food every once in a while But not enough to purchase a smile"
This was always my brother's favorite song growing up, and I just thought it was another Blink 182 song he dumped on me. I loved when he introduced me to new music! But now coming back at 16 to listen to this very familiar song from the age of 8, I know realize why this was his favorite song. The lyrics very clearly reflect how he was living his life at the time, when he was my age now. I came across this song, and immediately thought of my brother. I listened the whole way through (yes, even the intro) and I almost started crying. He moved out of state when I was 12, and so did I. I haven't seen him in over a year because of the distance. We've visited at least 4 times within the span of 4 years, and I miss him so much..
Me and my old band covered this song in 8th grade... The best year and the last good year of my life. Those days were when i could just let loose and have fun. Listening to any blink, mcr, offspring, red jumpsuit, just pop punk in general brings back so much. Thats why i love it to pieces.
something about this song the intro the vocals. pure nostalgy. those days with your three best friends from school having fun and being childish for the sake of being funny. school life is a woken dream
I'm not going to talk about the good ol days.. because frankly I'm just a kid. I'm literally about to go to college. this song has been there in the past, and it will be there when my future becomes the past, and I look back and am like where did it all go
This and M&Ms are my favourite Blink songs. This song always makes me long for my days of being in high school, laughing it up with my buddies and enjoying my life. Now I'm in University and not as close with my high school friends anymore as they feel I'm too good for them. School life is truly a woken dream.
Charles lee Ray buddy tom left again they will only be touring with matt skiba thats if they tour at all im really bummed because i wanted them to come to australia but i doubt that will happen
This was my first CD I ever owned. Bought it when I was in 5th grade and fell asleep listening to it ever night for a longggg time. Brings back good memories. To show how much I love Blink, I'm asking for 182 likes. NO MORE THAN 182!! Thanks :D

wow this song really shows how much Blink have change from pure basic punk rock to Pop punk rock but i think they did a really good job changing and sounding different. I mean there men in their mid 30's and early 40's so its not like there going to be singing about teenage stuff for the rest of their lives. As you age you get wiser and learn more and that affects music....just thought id say that :)
Honestly my favorite Blink-182 song. "A tank of gas is a treasure to me. I know now that nothing is free". I love the way Toms voice almost cracks at free

@sk8erbob86 quote from Mark Hoppus about this song "we wrote it the very first time i met tom. i showed him a bassline i'd been working on, and it fit perfectly with a guitar part he'd been working on. we'd only known each other for less than an hour and the song was fairly formed even then. it was weird."
Dude, nice vid and thanks for putting it up. ou should deffinitely put the buddha version of this song up, its way better and they kept mark's voice in the song.
The guitar sounds heavier and more distorted because the recording isn't as clean. They couldn't afford higher quality recording until Enema of the State, when they started trying to get a cleaner sound in the studio.
you win at getting a targeted amount of thumbs up. someone may eventaully screw it up, so take a picture of this or screenshot or something because this is kinda cool
@PaulGibson100 Ehh probably not since they were both released in Febuary (if you're talking about Dookie) And about half or so of the songs on Cheshire Cat were on Buddha.
The singing starts at 1:20 but who in their right mind would want to skip that intro!?

I like how there is a choice to skip the intro in the description, How About no xD
I think its the entrance that puts the song on the greatest hits XD
It's on the greatest hits because it's the very first song Tom and Mark wrote together when they met in 1992.
