It is not a new idea guys! We have had them in the UK for Land Rovers for about five, if not more, years. Good to see it is becoming more widespread for loads of different trucks!

I'd be interested to see how much light those lightbars actually throw out compared to the traditional lights.
I remember driving my brothers Toyota Prado in Dubai back in 2005 and it had 2 tanks. Obviously you could order it with an extra tank and he had no idea it had 2 tanks. I guess they had them for desert driving. First time he was putting gas in it he wondered what the hell was going on and where the gas was going. You could put 180 L in it. That's about 47 US gallon.
(serious question) But did you see any light bars? Love the things you pointed out and another great vid!

Fred, thanks for the props on my #1108 VW. We had a great time racing Baja a week after SEMA. Had to laugh about the lights, 7 HID's on my '69 Class 11 IS high tech.lol. Although BJ Baldwin took overall in his Trophy Truck at Baja with LED lightbars and stated at the finish line he just made round light obsolete.
Love how they had a Chevy LS3 in a jeep.
What don't they have LS's in? Pretty sure they sell LS lawnmowers at this point.
LS engines are GM's engine.

Yes they are, I'd rather have a LS in my jeep than a Hemi any day.
TexasRedneck Jeeps come from the factory with a V6, a HEMI isn't even an option. An aftermarket kit plus the HEMI can get so expensive, you're right, i'd go the LS route too.

I don't know how much those LED light bars run for over in the US, but here they're about $500 each for decent ones, just to buy off the shelf (no fitting). Some people must either take their passtimes _very_ seriously or just have money to burn.
You can make your own, depending on where you live and the age of your truck!
Here they are about $350+ for the big ones. I'm with you, I cant afford them. Even the small ones, say 12" versions are still $130+ for just the one smh
500$ for the decent ones???? these guys are all running rigid and those light bars are about 1500$ each.
in Aus they have been placing LPG tanks instead of the spare wheel in Ford Falcon for a few years now

Hey man nice video! I was wondering if you would have any recommendation about something things for me. First off for my black F250 2011 81 inch bed I am looking to install a single chrome roll bar/bed bar with a light rack, with the bars not going behind my wheel wells, and not taking up that much room in the bed in general. Also, do you have any recommendations of lights where I can have a normal light mode and a bright light mode for when it's dark out and no ones around. If you know anything please reply I could use all the help I can get
Can you do a Dirt Everyday video that examines the benefits of using the light bars in more detail? I've always preferred LEDs over halogen lamp type lights, but it would be great to see a visual comparison. Then after the comparison maybe you could actually use them to go wheeling at night.

CarsonAu Check out the Dirt Everyday video "Desert Proofing the Ford Raptor!", they have a small clip showing what the smaller bumper mounted light bar looks like in the dark.

Thank you dhomevideos, I found it by google searching Stamped Bumper Sema 2013 and I discovered is by American Expedition Vehicles. They offer lots of parts for Jeeps but this is the first time they offered anything for trucks.

Has anybody else noticed that the truck in the background at 6:23 has very odd tint?
Light bars may make lotsa light but look stupid compared to a old or new daylighter. They also have 10x the area to suffer damage from real world wheeling. Great for mall parking lots. Love the vw bug. Extra fuel tanks are cool but what is done to the rest of the truck to compensate for the weight of 100 extra gallons, or even 30? Even 30 gallons weighs around 240 lbs and it is in the very back of the truck.
40" tires on a 3/4 ton truck with stock steering and brakes is just stupid, but hey it looks cool at sema.

+JakeGames That makes no sense whatsoever, I know a "lightning apparatus" when I see one, and THAT, is a "lightning apparatus". But based on your description I have come to the conclusion that "lightbar" is just an other word for "head lights", pretty strange how you can't just call it "head lights".. some people just gotta make words up on the go I guess O.o
