- Disneyland‘s brand new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway officially opens to guests on January 27th. However, MiceChat got to take a first ride on January 25 at a media preview. Take a journey with us as Dusty is first to step aboard!
Wow, very cute. I love the darker night view with the blue lighting at the end. Very relaxing and cozy.
The fact that this stuff can be created and built from nothing is mind blowing.. beautifully done
From "nothing"?..
I think I've found a new favorite attraction at Disneyland. This is exactly what Toontown needed. Bravo, Disney!
We couldn’t agree with you more! 😃👍
The queue is like a mini museum!
Yeap
I Can't Believe that the Queue Line at Disneyland was 100% well done & well-theming than Hollywood Studios has. i wish if WDW does that too in their version of the ride because these Imagineers did the most wonderful job of putting the queue line at DL so perfectly well🤩
You took the words right out of my mouth! The queue alone makes this the superior version, as the ride experience is virtually identical (some scenes are a mirror version of the original room at Hollywood Studios).
Because the one at Disney's Hollywood Studios replaced The Great Movie Ride-they still wanted to use Grumman's Chinese Theater.
I agree but if Mickey and Minnie’s railway does a refurbishment that would be cool but it takes place at a Chinese theater and that’s true.
And Disney world don’t include potatoland Disneyland does.
@@WDI2008 My thoughts exactly. WDW was a re-theme and DL was entirely new from the ground up. Plus, a location in Toontown already makes a perfect fit for an immersive cartoon experience.
The transition from the underwater scene to the city scene is more abrupt. Then there is now a longer transition between the factory to the finale room, with a nod to Potatoland.
he doesn't pick it up in the video but on the right side of the tunnel there is the draining scene btw
@@lancekrenik1784 Good point
True.
It feels like, because you look right, towards the finale picnic, it’s like Disneyland looking right, across the country to Walt Disney World. And in WDW, ours is on the left, as we look toward Disneyland.
Is Daisy Duck present in the Runaway Railway?
I ❤ Disneyland, great imagineer’s work. Cant wait to go one day.
Loved the ride!
Disney hit an absolute home run with this ride. The details, colors and detail in the ride is absolutely incredible. Plus, it is so, so cute! Loved every minute of my ride. Disney desperately needed a big boost and a 'perfect picnic' is it.
I legit love this, in part because I love the new Mickey cartoons but also in part because this is just a straight up new attraction that didn't involve erasing, effacing, vandalizing, demolishing, or replacing an existing ride.
Wow that's really creative
It really is an incredibly detail and imaginative attraction. Perfect for Disneyland!
That que is far better than hollywood's version. It feels like a mini history/museum of Disney and his cartoons and I love the little nods to different outfits Mickey wears. Even Fantasia Mickey is there. It does seem like certain parts are shorter while its nicer the ending with Goofy feels longer. Specially since you don't interact with him that much, so its kind of nice you get a longer extension. Obviously hollywood's feels like it had more space to work with compared to dl's version. Still, I think in terms of which version is better, its looking like dl's version is better in terms of slightly longer narrative. < 3
What do you mean by longer narrative
Actually, Disneylasd's version has quite a bit more square footage. The difference is that the show building at DHS has a square shape, while the show building at Disneyland has a long rectangular shape, making the transitions between scenes a bit tighter.
Ah, to get to be among the first for a NEW ride! So much awesome!
This was so much fun folks. And what a thrill to be first to step aboard of all the media.
Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to ride this ride.
where are the additional scenes?
This looks amazing!!!
Congratulations
I found it interestingly cool that you could start at the front of the train, but finish in a different position.
I hope i can ride this one day. This ride is so awesome
We highly recommend it. It is insanely fun and there are a ton of secrets and Easter Eggs inside 😃
Thank-you so much for sharing!!! I can't wait to ride this. So glad you got to be the first to step aboard. ♥
Probably the closest most of us will actually get to being IN the cartoon!
Those posters in that queue 😂
wow! the queuing area has such a different feel than the one at disney world! i love how bright and cheerful it is. fits right in with the aesthetic of toontown
I love this queue ❤
You know, I really wasn't expecting Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stuff to appear here, but wow!
Love this version more!
Very Impressive !
The Disney use of preshows is my favorite and fondest memory of going to Disney World.
Also, why are people so mad about splaah mountain getting a facelift when this is the stuff they are doing now? Bring on the updates!
Omg they have the Mouskadoer 🥹
One of my little one favorite ride at Disneyworld. We got to ride it twice last August 2022. It was awesome
I like that you go around the tornado in this version, as well as the tunnel at the end. Slightly better version, it appears.
That queue looks fantastic! I would love to see a full walkthrough of it.
Great footage, neat to see the differences in the queue from WDW and Anaheim.
I never had the chance to ride in WDW. So glad it made it to the West Coast!
The queue is pretty awesome. Far more interesting than the DHS version. Very few differences once on the ride. I think the DHS version has a bit better transition from underwater to city, as it's longer and gives all passengers in all four cars the feeling of the water draining away throughout the long tunnel, while this version has that short scene tucked into a corner with an octopus pulling the plug. DL also has that final tunnel before the finale, which includes some great dialog but not much to look at, hindering the pace a bit. Knowing the DHS version so well, I really felt a lull in the action right there. The ride layout obviously dictated the necessity of that tunnel. Only letdown for me, was the fact that there was rumor of additional scenes of which there really wasn't. I love the ride at DHS and was hoping for even more in this version. With that said, this is a GREAT ride and awesome addition to Toontown. (And the queue itself could be an attraction on its own!)
I agree with you. The new scenes were just a rumor, but I would've liked a bit more changes to make it stand apart from the original. The tunnel at the end is odd, but I like it and the final scene is set up better than the original. Still would've been cool to have one big completely new scene. maybe the fairground couldve been replace with toon town itself
@@unknownuser7542 they said they were going have more to this ride, seems like they lied to get our hopes up.
Because people would've been pissed if they touched the queue in the great movie ride
@@DarkDoge maybe they were reffering to the queue? idk
@@unknownuser7542 that makes sense.
8:47 - I can see the difference between Disneyland and DisneyWorld: Disneyland version you can see Mickey, Minnie, & Pluto having their picnic from the right side of the vehicle while in DisneyWorld, you see them from the left side!!
I noticed that pretty cool how it’s mirrored the Disney land queue is really cool!!
True.
Same scene, just on the opposite side the room. No difference.
Congratulations on being the first one to ever post a full ride POV on RUclips of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland!
Great video skills! :)
Pretty awesome, but I just wish they'd done a better job resolving the world with the floor and ceiling to make the illusion more complete.
There is a new version of the pre-show cartoon as well. It has an explosion overlay to help cover the screen transition.
I dare say this is actually better than the Hollywood Studios version. It's Chugga-Chugga Too-fun!
PS WHY DID THEY NOT PUT THE JOLLY TROLLEY ON DISPLAY IN THE QUEUE? That would have made some good addition! Also I really like the addition of a lot of historic Mickey short references. I literally got taken by surprise when I saw the Mouskedoer in the queue.
I wish there were audio animatronics, but I'm impressed with everything from the queue line to the ride (animation resembles the RUclips shorts - I'm fine with that - because this is a cute ride!) Mickey's Toontown looks clean, let's hope it stays that way 💜
There are lots of them. The Mickey and Minnie in the car. The Mickey and Minnie in the Carnival Scene. Mickey and Minnie in the Jungle/Underwater scene, Daisy’s Dance Studio, and even the final scene at night. Plus lots of other animated props and things.
@@MiceChat I work in an animatronic company and yes, there is some, but not to the degree that most of us are missing, like Pirates of the Caribbean, Carousel of Progress, Country Bear Jamboree, etc. Too much of the rides are going projection, which is fine for some portions, but can be overused. I admire the art and use of color. Reminiscent of the Mary Blair days.
The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse thing caught me way off guard. I never thought I'd see that thing in real life, whatever that thing is.
It’s the Mousekedoer
@@JennNofficial Yeah thank you. I forgot it's name.
Great footage! The ride I’m sure is fun, but it seems overwhelming.
The design looks really good and it’s well placed in Toontown. I must admit that the Nothing Can Stop Us Now song is gonna get stuck in peoples head real quick and that can get annoying lol. “Nothing can stop us now! I don’t know how there can be any trouble.” 😂😂😂😂
So happy I found your video! Had to skip over BLAB, thank you! 🎉
There's a continuity error I noticed- on the Disneyland version at 8:29 you see goofy face and wave to the left, when Mickey is actually on the right. This seems to be a re-use of the animation from Disney World without any changes, which is unfortunate given the segment right before has seemingly new animation with the pots falling on Goofy.
There doesn't seem to be any new scenes that were rumored in the community, but overall it looks like the showrooms are more purpose-built instead of fitted within an existing building. For instance, the segment with Mickey and Minnie's Car looks longer, showing them running into the track switch, which is a better visual representation. The front train segment that you detach from goes forward into a tunnel instead of swerving to the left like you did before. Also at the end, the final scene is long enough that you can listen to the entire song, which is great, though I think the new ending tunnel segment is a big of a dead spot.
Overall I think the Disneyland version is better, especially when factoring in the queue, but both are awesome rides!
I didn't notice that the first time but after rewatching it; I saw it. They're having their picnic on the left side at WDW. I wonder why everything is on the opposite side at Disneyland. Lol! 😂
Dude...Did goofy just say the N-Word?
@@artic562 After watching it a few times, I realized he says, " picnickers". As in, people that are picnicking. Gonna raise some eyebrows for sure!
Looks like that picnic scene is the main difference from the WDW version… I kinda like this one more :)
Picnic scene is exactly the same, just mirrored
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
I can already tell that Toon Town looks a million times better way less dated and tacky! And that queue! It's incredible! I cant wait to go in April! 😍
Looks cool.
0:44 - That’s the Mousekedoer from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
No way! So awesome!
What was the difference between this one and DHS version? I have only been on that one once so I wasn't able to tell what was different, if anything. But that queue and the entrance are amazing.
This has an added scene of the octopus draining the water and Pluto gets stuck in the drain and extended dialogue for Goofy at the end (he talks about Potatoland for example) between the transition of the factory to the park and when you encounter Mickey and Minnie at their picnic. Those are basically all the differences from Disneyland's version and some scenes are mirrored then the one at Hollywood Studios.
very small differences, the ride is a bit more compact in ths DL version, with the octopus pulling a plug rather than going through the sewers, and the last scene is mirrored
@@theskullspookychannel6343 I heard there were some differences between the two, I just couldn't tell what they were. Thank you for that, I appreciate it.
The perfect addition to ToonTown!
It truly is. Not only that, but an incredible addition for Disneyland! 😃
The set-up is kind of confusing now as the original point of the ride was that we're entering the cartoon world. But since we're already in Toontown, this is us entering ANOTHER cartoon world within a cartoon world. Kind of wish they changed the setup so it could feel more organic, but eh.
I get what you mean 100%, but then again, the idea of cartoon characters from one world entering a different cartoon world is the exact kind of fourth wall breaking hijinx that fits for Toontown I think.
I agree. At DHS you're literally ripped out of the real world and pulled into the cartoon world, but again, I think that point is lost on most guests. DL is just lucky they didn't have to rip out an attraction to put this in.
@@sdboutet It was a gift shop and a bunch of backstage area. Although with the overall remodel ToonTown has lost Chip and Dale's House (keeping the rollercoaster) and a lot of interactive elements that weren't working right anyways.
Where is this ride in Toontown...Did it take the place of another ride?? I can't wait I'll be there in April for Food/Wine Festival !!!!
It’s at the very back of the land. The brand new show building was actually built back stage. So Roger Rabbit was not removed. However, the Gag Factory store was lost in the process.
Cool! Thanks, Dusty! 😀
2:15 that employees lack of enthusiasm though lol he would be better off as a janitor instead
Great job filming this! I believe this was recorded in 0.5x lens on your iPhone!! Can’t wait to ride and record this with my iPhone 14 Pro Max for my channel!!
There's definitely some differences in the DL version. It seems just a little shorter.
its not by much so its fine, and either way the que makes up for it.
It’s actually just a bit longer than Florida
Voice Cast:
Chris Diamantopoulos as Mickey Mouse
Russi Taylor as Minnie Mouse (Final Role at Walt Disney World)
Bill Farmer as Goofy and Pluto
Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck
Tress MacNeille as Daisy
Jim Cummings as Pete
I dont care what anyone says, i think this ride is beautiful.
It’s amazing. We absolutely loved it
wow toon towns looks great
Is it me, but is there some small differences between this version and the version in Hollywood Studios? The queue in DL is fantastic!
Almost the same as the one at Hollywood Studios in Florida but the trackless vehicles going in a different motion.
Awesome ❤
Broooo I can’t be the only one😭😭😭
8:30
Their all here, every stunts when you enter the theater you can spot lots of Easter eggs from every Mickey Mouse movies and series.
Great ride for romantic adventure
I’ve witnessed the original one in Florida and that experience was great (kinda sad The Great Movie Ride got replaced though, I miss it). However, this California version makes it look more natural since this is the state where Walt Disney himself went and created many Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts in his lifetime. Plus in Toontown? That suits them too.
It does fit Toontown better, like Tiana's Bayou Adventure will fit DL, as it's by New Orleans Square but I'm not sure it will fit WDW, as it's in Frontierland. Food for thought! Lol! 😂
Did this replace the rogger rabbit ride?
Nope, it’s an all new ride built from the ground up. Nothing was replaced
No. Roger is still there and will reopen with the rest of ToonTown next month!
So the ending is a bit different with that tunnel
Yeah, that's the only difference I noticed.
Plus Minnie & Mickey having a picnic is on your right side as with the one in DHS it's on your left 😊
I went there with my son a few days ago. HAd to pay 15 per person to get in. When I was in I was so surprise they were NOT at max capacity. AT ALL! The seat was half occupied and there was no lines at all. Then I realize this is the exact scheme Disney does to charge more. So many people could have ridden this ride if they would just let stand by. But instead they resort to the elite class first. How sad Disney have become this money hungry corporation.
There’s a free virtual queue. You don’t HAVE to pay to ride it.
I can't wait to ride Mickey & Minnie runway railway in September 11th to the 15th
Hey long time n happy new yr. I will be there march 29 to apirl 4th
My bday
I'm gonna be there this weekend for the opening
If you get a chance to answer this, which lens on my iPhone 14 Pro Max do you think I film ride with, in 0.5x lens to get a wide angle of the entire ride or regular lens which is 1x?! I thought the 0.5x to get the details of the setting!
Bro do whatever you want
I used the wide angle
Do you know why some folks from just a few days ago were not allowed to video/photograph any parts of this ride but they allowed it later & just days prior to its opening? Just curious! 🙃 Thank you for posting! So excited for our trip in April! I’ll spend $25 to get on it if I have to - don’t care! ✋🏻😏
Once the media was allowed to ride (and film), Disney allowed everyone else to film as well.
We were at a press preview and were allowed and encouraged to take photos and video. Prior to this were cast previews which had different rules.
@@MiceChat I see! That makes sense then because the one I saw prior to this was a cast preview! They went on it & gave their opinion about the ride without giving away any details & were not allowed to video or take pics. Thanks for the clarification! 😁
I will be riding this March 29th
It is just like the ride at Walt Disney world
Looks incredible
I think Disney does queues better than rides now.
i agree
OMG you actually go around the tornado in this one
I am riding this at wdw and Disneyland very soon
Well that's different...I guess. was the fall legit or just faked? The projection screen animatronic mice are kinda freaky and scary if you ask me if I was a kid I'd be freaked out. Not something I'm dieing to ride for sure.
“If I were a kid id be freaked out” 🐈🤡
Its shorter then floridas version it looks like. Also faster paced it seems?
It’s a bit longer than Florida
It’s pretty much the same as the one in Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World
I still can't figure out how they did that exploding screen effect.
Thanks for this
When did they Micky Mouse's face, I barely recognize it's supposed to be Mickey.
So the only differences between Florida and this one is this one’s missing the splashy sewer tunnel, Minnie’s dance studio exits right instead of left and a pointless covered bridge with moonlight showing between the boards. They said it was going to be much different but it’s not at all.
Aside from the queue it’s mostly the same experience
0:56 I love how DW and Disneyland once again have a different version of rides it reminds of Tianas Bayou A-oh wait a second
I don't get it, what is this ride supposed to be about?
The premise is that you are watching a brand new Mickey Mouse cartoon at Toontown’s newest hometown movie theatre and you magically get transported inside of the cartoon. Goofy invites you ride a train ride with him and Mickey accidentally hits the track switch derailing you and sending you on a wild adventure as Mickey and Minnie try to save you.
Interesting that the ride layout is different. Suppose it has to be being the building isn't the same size and shape of the original.
It’s nearly the same layout, except for the end. The buildings are indeed shaped differently. The CA version is slightly larger with a much more extensive interior queue
It looks the same 😱
The differences are the queue, and ending being mirror. I think disneyland has the slight edge for the queue. And being in toontown
Still has the glaring error of the screen at the back of the locomotive. The doors that open to show Goofy are curved at the top, but the screen is flat. Looks like they just stuck a TV monitor in there and it was too small for the opening. And, since this was a ground up build, They REALLY should have made the cars spin around in the tornado room, like in the finale of Mystic Manor in Hong Kong.
In 1973, this would have been an "E - Ticket"
The ending is different from Disney world goofy in Disney world said well that concludes my guided tour but in Disneyland he said that’s why they really called it potatoland I hope 🤞 that you had a relaxing time they took out that concludes my guided tour I like Disney world version because it came first but I like the queue at Disneyland.
Where the additional scenes ?
Theres pretty much no additional scenes as rumored besides the long barn
What did goofy say @8:30? 😱
Bro he didn’t actually say it 😒
2 days to go
I think you meant, Months.
@@AMSalley94 the attraction opens on Friday. The rest of toontown opens march 8z
@@AMSalley94 No bro, the ride opens this Friday
@@1ROCKET- oops! Sorry! I was a little confused.
Hope there's stuff from House of Mouse that will be in the queue line.
The ride looks awesome. Still not a fan of the new animation they've been using.
Is there a shop at the exit?
There's always a shop at every ride exit.
There is, but it isn’t ready yet. Curtains hide it
Does anyone know if Mickey Mouse is voiced by Russ Hanneman in this attraction? "This mouse fuuhx"
Chris Diamantopoulos
