How to Open Your Locking Petrol Cap, a Simple Guide by a Simple Bloke (C1/Aygo/107/CityBug/Car)

How to open a locking fuel cap on a Citroen C1, or opening a gas cap if you’re in most other parts of the world,.. or even how to unlock a locking diesel cap if you’re driving a truck.
I’m just chasing algorithms and trying to open the search criteria here. Locking fuel caps are pretty much the same on any car/van or lorry that has one and this can usually be accomplished using basic common sense,.. however they can be fiddly shitters so here’s a not so helpful video filmed on a windy day to help anyone who’s struggling conquer their cars gaaaaaas caaaap.

I call this "The Aygo test". I work in an auto repair shop and has yet to find a C1, 107 or Aygo that has the fuel cap locked. Owners don't know how it works ^^

I’ll be honest, the first day of owning mine, it was definitely locked as it just rotated. Unlocked with the key. Great. BUT I’ve never managed to get it to lock again! 😫 until the second half of this video. 😎👍🏻

the bondage restrain on the filler cap goes over the little lug on the open door to prevent damaging the paintwork too ... got to look after your investment in what may be a future collectible.

That’s one way of doing it. Just edited and reuploaded cos on my mrs’s car you just turn the key back and forth and open, it’s piss easy 😂

You can also turn the key left to unlock, then back to where you started. Remove key then twist the cap to remove 👍
