    I’m baffled at the chick that didn’t care she killed two people…like your bad decisions cost two people their *lives* and you’re somehow thinking you can go back to school and have your car returned? I don’t know if she was still way too drunk for logic at this point or just didn’t care. Just awful. 😠

      Her behaviour is totally bizarre. I think maybe she's a psychopath??? Either that, or she immediately went into a DEEP state of denial, which I suppose is possible, and her unusual cheerfulness may actually be evidence for that. Trauma/stress can do crazy things to people sometimes.
      I read about her, and there is another sad thing about it. People HATE her, which is fair, but unfortunately her entire family have been horribly harassed ever since. with death threats against them and everything, even while she sits in prison, and her family did nothing wrong.

      @@consunn2810well she called 911, didn't leave the scene, was cooperative, didn't have a record and she was a college student.

      This is pretty much the mentality of much of the youth today, it's all about them. And screw everybody else.
      I wouldn't be surprised if she blames the victims thinking they ruined her trip to Vegas. Sure it may be partially that she's drunk, but come on, there has to be some part of you that realizes you just ended the existence of two innocent ppl who's only mistake was walking when you were driving, and you mowed them over! She called 911 so she knew she hit one person. And denied there were 2 ppl.
      Just this video alone should have gotten her more than 14 years. She probably has a rich family. Seems like it. And good lawyers. Maybe even important connections. Just speculating of course. But she seemed like a spoiled rich kid.
      It's all such a horrific event. Sad.

    51:04 I think if they are arrested more than once for DUI they should have to do some mandatory jail time. One mistake can be explained by mistake you can get some treatment you can do better but consistently going out getting drunk and driving with the possibility of murdering innocent people is unacceptable. If she’s been caught twice, that means she has drank and drove countless times.

    I’ve seen Stephanie’s video countless times and it still disgusts me how she acts. From her claiming that “it doesn’t happen to her”, her saying they hit her, ever word out of her mouth pisses me off more and more.
    and then the absolutely depraved way she talks and acts while at the hospital. When in college I’d gotten VERY drunk at times and I know if I’d hurt someone, even a minor injury I would be beside myself. I could never get so drunk that I wouldn’t understand the horror if I killed someone let alone 2 people.
    She should’ve gotten more than 14 years she was sentenced to.

      @karidennis6154 6 месяцев назад +3

      No kidding, never mind she’ll probably only serve 7 or 8 years, someones sentence is a far cry from what they actually serve. I started watching parole hearings a while ago and i really think its nuts how fast some people get out on parole. So were sentenced to 20 years because you robbed and killed someone? Go before the board showing all the programs you took and that you don’t have too many write-ups, throw in some remorse that looks genuine and there’s a good chance you could get out after just 12 years. Throw in a place to live and a job waiting for you and your odds are huge.
      I’ve heard parole board members say that there’s no reason to keep buddy in prison because he really can’t get any more out of prison. What happened to prison being a punishment?

    In one report I read about this young lady, Stephanie, her father "came to her rescue" by commenting that "she deals with depression and alcoholism." My answer to that is, so what? Are those excuses for her jolly nature after killing two people?! When I was in my early 20s and just recently married, there was a murder-suicide in my family. But in light of that horrific tragedy, my new wife and I agreed to raise my youngest brother during his last 3 years in high school. I went on to pursue my dreams and do so, in part, in honor of my parents. I never hated my father for what he did, and I decided to live a life of celebration to the great upbringing I had received. I have always tried to spend these ensuing years doing some good in the world. By all rights, that tragedy in our family could easily have brought on intense depression and/or alcoholism. But I chose to stay really focused on a spiritual path that "was given" to me; and now, so many years later, and even coping with severe chronic pain, I am still happy and grateful...

      Shock in the case of a traumatic incident is not uncommon. She just killed 2 people and it's possible her brain subconsciously switched to tune out the tragic series of events. It seems she's in denial, in lieu of how great her life was, and is mentally processing the tragedy. I don't think this process immediately paints her as a psychopathic person, and will have to live with her actions for the rest of her life.

I just recently put $6,000 into this car because it's a fantastic--and utilitarian--automobile for me; it's very comfortable to drive (and it's fast)...and it's quiet. I am the second owner, and I've had it for 20 plus years already. No, I (also) don't see it as a vintage car. It's an interesting car, and I've had a lot of comments on it because it's a bit rare, but it's just an older car that "runs beautifully," like it just came off the showroom floor. At least we need to "hang together," those of us drivers driving cars that are pre-2000! He just knew he had to be swift to immobilize that obviously meth-crazed woman without hurting her. And he did. / I've seen the footage of the third case several times. I don't understand the point of field sobriety tests and they feel very pointless. In my country we don't even have them. If you're suspected of DIU, the cops will either do a breathalyzer or there are several different quick drug tests taken from your saliva that will show almost every normal drug and if those are positive for something, the cops will take you to blood tests to verify the results and a doctor examines you after it.
      Breathalyzer and saliva tests are over in a couple of minutes and are quite trustworthy. Unlike field sobriety tests that feel like a complete waste of time when there are real medical tests that will tell you almost for certain whether that person is intoxicated or not and are not based on someone's subjective opinion, who doesn't have any medical background, if you _seem_ intoxicated or not.

    • @tjtruth4793
      @tjtruth4793 7 месяцев назад +4

      @@stupidityshouldhurt1in America, the handheld breathalyzers aren’t admissible in court because they’ve been shown to not be accurate. Also, we have a constitutional right the be secure in our person, which means our saliva as well. So a cop would have to get a judge to sign a warrant for saliva, urine, or blood. So they do these tests to gather “probable cause” as well as evidence to support the prosecution in court. If they can gather enough probable cause, they can get a warrant signed by a judge and forcefully draw blood. And that’s also why they use a different breathalyzer at the station, because the handheld ones can’t be used in court. Hope that helps!
