"stop languishing in vagueries and fucking say something of substance" what a beautiful sentence
"Are you habitually late?"
"Habitually? No. A lot? No, but"

Best part of the show!

I love how Opie, Anthony and Jimmy completely shut the fuck up to get every ounce of this argument out LOL I wish I was there to see how awkward they looked. These were the best O&A days lol

Loooool great comment
I don't get all the Erock hate. Dude owned the argument except for the late part which he admitted was shitty.
bro he cant even admit that being late is bad and tries to throw random people under the bus so he doesnt have to take accountability. the people on the show are just trolling him to say more dumb shit because they realize how not self aware he is and its funny
But he’s right. He’s paid salary. As long as he gets his job done, everything else is irrelevant. Every time they try to say something is wrong or not done because he’s not there, he proves them wrong and they are forced to fall back on “yea but you are late.” They all seem more than happy to let Erock stay late every day but the when he comes in a little later they get mad? Again, he’s paid salary. He doesn’t get paid more for staying late. He does it because he needs to. These other guys don’t have a purpose once the show is over so they leave after the show. He has responsibilities that keep him there hours after the show is over. If they can’t come up with any real issues that come from him not being there earlier, they should just keep their mouths shut.

Danny wasn’t even in the office that day and still had an on air argument
Team E-Rock he's been with the show this long for a reason in my opinion
This is probably the best segment I've heard with Opie. He actually seems to fully understand in this case that he needs to stfu and allow the funny to happen around him. He even has a couple of good timed lines as well. Like an albino deer.... so so rare.
Opie was good at swimming in uncomfortable situations created on the show. Hate to say it but he was responsible for some of the realist segments on the radio. Absolutely brutal.
Haha, I love it when E-Rock responds to the late comment.
"Habitually? No. Alot? ... no."
I realize that Erock's lateness is perceived as elitist and unfair, but I believe him when he says he puts in more than his fair share in the after hours and at home. I believe his real problem is that he has anxiety about performing under pressure and working under a daily deadline. He's aware of what the show expects of him, and he prepares well for each day (his biggest critics find fault with his lateness, but rarely site specific examples of how his performance is lacking due to it). He clearly does his job better once the time crunch and frenetic pace of each morning in the studio (when everyone else's adrenalin is at it's peak) is over for the day. Anxiety like this can cause self sabotaging behavior (inexplicable habitual lateness) in order to avoid or postpone exposure to the trigger. It's easily mistaken for 'poor time management' because they crave independence and they need more privacy in order to focus. Trying to micromanage Erock's compliance (money jar, daily consequences for tardiness, etc.) will only have temporary results.
Yeah dude they treated erock terribly. people don't get that this show has so much bad karma that it's simply impossible to resurrect their career. only after death will these guys be missed
But if you're contracted to be at your job at a certain time it really doesn't matter what you do after your hours.
If he doesn't get paid for those extra hours, he should just go home each day.
They said time and time again that he stays there late because he does meaningless tasks (i.e. the kind of busy work that you might do when you have nothing going on at work, no deadline, etc.) and ends up having to stay to finish his more important day-to-day work, most likely because it is needed for the next day's show. So basically he fucks around all day, crams his work in at the end, then comes in late the next day, leaving those who showed up on time to scramble to get his shit together before the show. What a nightmare of a co-worker he must be. How many times have we heard about Opie wanting someone in the morning and they scrambled to get it because they didn't know that Erock had it....because he wasn't there to ask. Then he has a smug attitude like, "what's the big deal? That was already done."

O&A were too fucking cheap to pay chump change for their own promotion through Steve’s website. They wanted the company to pay for it all because that’s what they did for Howard. They were never going be treated the same as Howard while working for the same company.
They could’ve put up a few thousand dollars and made their show amazing with a visual element, but instead, they bitched about how the company favored Howard. They didn’t know their own value. Ant had his own studio in his house at the time and he claimed it only cost him around $10k. You can’t tell me that they couldn’t have pooled together $20k-$30k to buy their own studio equipment and rented a studio space. They didn’t look at the bigger picture.
Wow Than lost steam so fucking quick when Erock responded to every point he threw out. Fuckin Spider!

Jimmy's line around 45:46 LOL
All the “oooh”s from Jimmy 🤣
i love the staff fights
This is one of the best staff fights but I find it funny in hindsight. Most of the people raking erock over the coals for not being punctual and/or hard working enough ended up being complete go nowhere failures. Danny for example, got fired from sirius, burned bridges horrifically at rockstar and was last seen trying to start a shitty, generic “pop culture” podcast which failed miserably and led to him being institutionalized and later seen sleeping on his father’s couch. He’s pretty much completely unemployable except as a dishwasher, bartender or street sweeper. O&A both got fired for stupid, unprofessional antics and have been phoning it in for years. Jimmy, by his own admission, would show up right as the show would start and would frequently sleep on air or write parts of his books. The only reason sam is still working is bc he’s a conniving, backstabbing shithead who’s loathed by nearly every former employee/intern but knows how to play office politics. Than tried to become a standup comedian but just ended up working at rockstar. It’s not as if show prep was high rise construction or working as a surgeon. As far as I can tell they were mostly doing audio editing on a deadline. Real hard work. At least erock is content enough to enjoy playing with legos and ghostbusters action figures despite his head ballooning up to rocky dennis proportions.
Jesus dude. That's DEEP!
The whole staff and most of the personalities from this show are like the gas station on the corner. At their height, exactly what you needed. But eventually, gone, replaced with something else and eventually completely forgotten.
but nothing has really replaced o&a, it's not possible to have a show like that today
sam was an evil genius at office politics and fucking with coworkers - but he was also the smartest and most motivated employee
How do you know all this about them?
46:14 the delivery of Opie trying to rework Jim's joke is textbook chipperson

@colino Danny won some contest at Sirius where he got tickets to attend some corporate event and he said on air he was going to bring a porn star . Was warned by management multiple times to not do it and he insisted he would do it. Not sure if he actually ended up bringing a porn star to the event but was fired right after that

40:10 A rare moment of honesty for Opie. He was indeed furious when he was passed up by Sam.

"Oh Wow, shocking line by Ope!"
Lol I cringed when he said that. Not the 'shocking line', him thinking it was shocking.
Well, he has to do whatever he can to build himself up, like when he makes his "fat jokes" line and then later when he keeps repeating "can I get a song" to try to start a bit.

as entertaining and relatable as this is when it comes to workplace issues, the way they handled this was toxic as fuck HAHA. Opie (...and i cant believe im saying this) actually had some pretty decent moments here with being fair as well as bold and showed some diplomacy as a leader. but damn then Opie just shits on himself like always and keeps asking everyone to rate on a scale how much they like/dislike each other?? WTF dude!?!? I get he was pushing it for the bit, but man that is probably the absolute WORST thing you could do when trying to address a dysfunctional department. Jeez It had to be painful for all those guys going into that kind of toxicity every day.

Yes Definitely Than. From what I can gather Erock was surpassed as a producer because of his lazyness. Than and Danny overtook Erock. Danny and Than are both gone. Danny got fired for Trying to take a pornstar to a Sirius-XM 'One Direction' interview. Not sure about Than.

There’s not enough information there to decide who is right. They keep talking about E-Rocks start time is 5am but what what time is his day supposed to finish? If he is paid salary than I believe if he stays late, he should be able to come in a little bit later. As long as he takes care of what he needs to at the end of the day to make sure the morning runs smoothly without him there than I don’t see the problem. Do they want him to stay late by himself to take care of things that THEY don’t take care of and then get there in the morning to help THEM do things they need to do?
Who is yelling at Erock at the beginning? Ive only been listening to O&A for a year.
