Honestly this amp looks like it’s good for people that have been playing for a time. As a beginner I want what I had on my old Marshall tube amp from the 90’s… just using the knobs to experiment. I don’t even own a PC anymore and pretty much use my iPhone 14 Pro Max which has been sufficient for the last decade. Looking into a Roland Micro GX I think

@@wojciech2456 I like the range of effects and its loud enough for home use. Have not had it cranked with a drummer. The headphone jack is really weak, already broke the internal casing which is only thin plastic sadly and its soldered directly to a daughter board
I have a Silverline Special and it’s interesting seeing the differences in Architect for the ID versus my amp. For example, Silverlines don’t have the Cab Rig stuff, but do have power amp tube emulation selectors and can save 120 patches (which seems a bit excessive tbh). Also even though I can adjust Resonance and Presence on the actual amp, I can’t do it in Architect? But you can with the ID Core amp? Weird.
Interesting. It is called Cab Rig Lite, so I wonder if there's a Cab Rig Pro/Premium coming? I have Blackstar's ID Series 260TVP which was superseded by the Silverline Series which is pretty much the same thing as the Silverline Stereo Deluxe (SHARC) with a speaker (Celestion vs original Blackstar OEM?) and cosmetic change. Whilst legacy compatible with my original ID:Core 40 (V1), the more contemporary features like Cab Rig in Architect aren't supported/compatible in its hardware/firmware. So I didn't expect Architect to support the 260TVP specifically either as it long preceded the release of Architect software. However I'm surprised Blackstar didn't provide that support in Architect for the Silverline Series were it possible. Which begs he question if it could be accomplished with a firmware rewrite, or if its a limitation within Silverline hardware.

I can use the software with my first version ID Core stereo 40...I really have no use for the newer features available in later versions.the built in effects are the same throughout the line. I cn go strait out with the amp.s internal speakers, stealth with a good pair of headphones of over the top fby hooking up to my surround sound sys tem from the headphone out into the CD input of the surround sys tem with an adapter cabls for deeper bass and fuller soundstage with the surround speakers. my cuntom built Strat based Stellarcaster. I went way overboard with the build works well and sounds great. the map I got used for under $100 and the guitar build cost a total of around $500 including the guitar purchase. and all the parts and materials involved in the build.. still cheap for what I built.

I'm thinking of something like Valhalla Room reverb but frankly have no idea how to utilise it so i thought maybe it'd be possible with Architect

I really like your great videos about the Blackstar ID Core. But I’m not a huge fan of this kind of combos anymore. I still own a Fender Mustang I V2 Combo, which works fine. But in the meantime Fender has discontinued the associated software. Although the combo works without it, it still feels like they took away a part I paid for. Since then I have a hard time with devices that offer a software extension.
This is a good point. I wonder if this software would continue to be available even if they discontinue doing updates for it. That's kinda shady of Fender to nerf a whole line of its amps like that.

I have Silverline stereo delux 212 combo. I am using the latest version of Achitect...amp is up to date. Now why I dont have presence and resonanace knob in architect, I dont have noise gate "pedal" arcitect shows only tuner, modulation, delay and reverb. I dont have option for cab rig ider. Blackstar makes some good stuff - I've owned both ID:Core15 and valve amp combos from them. However, as someone who has pretty much owned nearly all of the desktop practice amps on the market over the last 4 to 5 years, IMO the current king of the hill overall by a mile is the PG Spark. No question. The previous best in class desktop practice amp is the Yamaha THR series and they're still great. Just at about 2x the price of the Spark and with less features in general. Sorry, at the moment, in this category, everything else takes a backseat to the Spark IMO.

And yes, at around 100-150USD, the Blackstar desktop practice amps are surprisingly good, especially the versions with the stereo sound - lots of fun! But still, I stand by what I wrote - in the desktop practice amp category at the moment, Spark reigns supreme. Cheers and rock on!

I have a question for you since you seem to be FAR more informative than the Blackstar website or even the architect manual, which seems at best extremely Vague. I watched all your architect videos a few days ago, but I see no mention on what the procedure is to recall a patch that has been saved to the AMP (from architect) I have modified a few patches and saved it to Architect AND also used the option to save it to my amp ..But NOWHERE in any of the Info given by Blackstar do I find the technique to recall it from the amp itself. Do you have any insight? I really like the amp but Blackstar has the very epitome of the worst designed and informed website that I have ever seen. thanks much for any response or help .

on my blackstar id core 20, when the amp is not plugged into my computer, it lets me use phaser, chorus, flanger, and tremolo, however when i plug it in to my pc it combines chorus and flanger and allows me to use wah/envelope, so i there any way to use just chorus while my amp is connected to the software?

Architect has issues with Windows I guess, because it is just an exe file, no installation required. Also, it does not allow to update the app, nor does it allow to load the community patches. Any advice/suggestions on this will really help.

@@TheGuitarGeek LOL, yes four to be exact. All the cables I had I used were for my other equipment . Also attempted to connect it to two different computers and tried ever USB port.
let me also specify my comment about it sounding like shit. It sounded almost like it had a blown speaker . that's the best way I can describe it. I took a flashlight and looked through the grill and did not see Any issues with the speakers, but boy my ears told me different. I was really disappointed I had high hopes for this thing.

I love mine, don't have a pc, I think it will benefit with the addition of a treble booster.
I hope blackstar can add keyboard shortcut feature, for example button 1 to select warm clean voice, 2 to select clean bright voice and so on

Thanks. No, it’s not possible to load plugins into the amp. Valhalla would be cool though!
Not into the amp, but you can use bluecat software to load any plugins to use alongside with the amp on your computer

that's not really a bug. It's just not developed to be a app which can be installed. Just use the .exe file

@@TheGuitarGeek LOL, yes four to be exact. All the cables I had I used were for my other equipment . Also attempted to connect it to two different computers and tried ever USB port.
let me also specify my comment about it sounding like shit. It sounded almost like it had a blown speaker . that's the best way I can describe it. I took a flashlight and looked through the grill and did not see Any issues with the speakers, but boy my ears told me different. I was really disappointed I had high hopes for this thing.
