Hello Lisa, I am from Philippines, and I want you to know that love the way you are teaching it is very clear. Most of the Love Proverbs that you had said on this session, we were using it also here in the Philippines. We have one proverbs here that I liked the most and I just wanna share, "Love is like a Rosary, full of Mystery".
Hi, great teacher Lisa. Thanks for not leaving us alone at these times. Appreciate it. Turkish proverb : Out of sight, out of heart. Time is the best medicine.
Hi Lisa it's a great pleasure to have you as a teacher ,I'm Moroccan from Marrakech a very fluent French speaker my English is good as well and I'm learning Hebrew. For love proverbs L 'amour est le language des sages . Love is the wise's language الحب لغة الحكماء بالحب نقرب المسافات ونفتح البوابات Love reduces the big distances & opens the big doors L'amour raproche le lointain et ouvre les portails . Ce sont mes humbles proverbes d'amour. They are my humbles love proverbs. I wish you would love them .
Hi Lisa! Here are some love related proverbs Uzbek people use. Love's eye is blind. If you are lucky to have a good wife, good for you. If you're not, you will become Plato. (Meaning, you'll become wiser) Husband is a head, wife is a neck. Beauty isn't beautiful, who you love is beautiful. When you marry a girl, evaluate her mother. (Because she is like her mother) Good wife is treasure. Bad wife - bad life. Thanks for what you're doing. Greatings from Uzbekistan!
"Love is blind" in Persian is very similar "Love makes you blind" Or "عشق چشم آدم رو کور میکنه" Also for "Out of sight out of mind" in Persian we say "Will go out of your heart who went out of you sight" Or "از دل برود هر آنکه از دیده برفت" That was very nice you read similar proverbs in other languages in this video :) Thanks Lisa I like your videos and lessons !
Your videos are always full of knowledge and learning. I appreciate your efforts. I have not experienced personally but seen others justifying both "out of sight, out of heart" as well as "absence makes the heart grow fonder".
Hi Lisa. Thank you for all your videos. I have learnt a lot from you. In Chinese we say ”there are other beautiful flowers somewhere else in the world for you” and “distance makes each other look more beautiful”.
Hi Lisa, I love to way you teach :) I write below similar Turkish proverbs in order: 1) Aşkın gözü kördür. : The eye of love is blind. 3) Görünüşe aldanma! : Do not be fooled by appearance! 7) Gözden ırak olan gönülden de ırak olur : The one who is out of the sight is also out of the heart. 8) Zaman herşeyin ilacıdır : Time is medicine of everything. 10) From a Turkish poet Turgut Uyar : "One kisses the frog, one sleeps for centuries, one lives with 7 dwarfs, one is closed to a tower… Even if you are a fairy tale princess, femininity is hard…"
Hi Lisa, I really love the video. For "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", we have a similar proverb in Chinese. We say "Xishi is in the eyes of lovers" Xishi was an extremely beautiful lady in ancient China, more than 2000 years ago. All Chinese people know about her. She is the symbol of beauty in the Chinese world.
Hi there, I’m Alireza from Iran, there is a Persian proverb says “love isn’t the business of a guy who’s sleeping in his bed” which means it’s difficult for an laidback person from our great poet Saadi. And another one says “the penny less lover should pick up clover” which has that meaning: without money you can’t succeed in love. By the way, I really enjoyed your lessons and hope to see you on RUclips for good. ❤️
Thanks for your videos! They’re always so helpful Now some German versions: 1:30 - „Liebe macht blind“ which means love makes you blind 3:00 - „Schönheit liegt im Auge des Betrachters“ which is the same 5:32 - „Zeit heilt alle Wunden“ or „Mit der Zeit vergeht der Schmerz“ the 2nd here means that the pain passes over time
Hi, I really love your channel. I am an English language teacher in my country Algeria, and use a lot of your videos for teachig my students. There's a proverb in my country that says: : when they're together they fight each other, when they're away they miss each other", which makes your proverb of thinking a lot about a beloved person who's away true. We always miss a dear person who's away, ask what she/he is doing now, what he/she is thinking.... The other one "out of sight out of mind" is more true cause most people who are away are busy with the life they're having in the other side and start getting used to it , rather than thinking about what they left behind them.
"Любовь зла, полюбишь и козла" - "Love is evil - perhaps you will love a goat". This proverb is based mainly on the rhyme of the russian words "зла - козла" ("zla - kozla"). This means that love is an unpredictible thing. And you don't know exactly who you will fall in love with. Maybe it will be a beautiful person, and maybe a goat :) A goat in Russian (except for an animal) is also called a bad person. Another proverb with the same meaning is "Сердцу не прикажешь" - "No one's heart can be ordered" Thank You for Your lessons! Alexander Koryazhkin (Penza-city, Russia).
I loved this one : "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" Here we have another one is like slang and it says: "Entre gustos no hay disgustos“ Cheers from Colombia!
there are plenty more people in the sea= eso es como cuando enamoramos a alguien y nos rechazan, decimos mas para alnte viven gente,o sea que podemos conseguir mas, alguien que nos quiera
Interestingly, we have a similar Chinese proverb for “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” “Love grows deeper when lovers are apart than when they are newly married.”

There is a Russian proverb, "Ум истиной просвещается, сердце любовью согревается" which can be translated as "Mind is enlightened by truth and heart is warmed by love".
I would say: A no caught up love makes the heart grow fonder. "Out of sight, out of mind" is much obvious. There is a proverb in Algeria says: "Love tames the king". and for symbiosis couple: " a pickaxe and its handle".
we always say to people who was abandoned 'sen daha iyilerine layıksın' which means you don't need to be sad anymore you deserve better person who really cares you This idiom has same meaning with 'there are other fish in the sea'. By the way my first language is Turkish

Lisa I m also a communication english language teacher ....... but their is much more to learn from you @least we hv someone like you who can correct us .....thanks stay blessed
Out of sight out of mind is loin des yeux loin du coeur en français. Thank you Lisa for your very interesting videos. I' ve recently discovered them due to lockdown and I've become a big fan.
In Spain we say: what goes without being cast returns without being called, (lo que se va sin ser echado vuelve sin ser llamado) it means when your boyfriend broke up with you without any problem and suddenly it reappears in your life as if nothing had happened.
Hi again! For addition: Love is blind - Someone said - "For the happy life you should keep your eyes widely open before getting married to have them being almost closed after the marriage." Best regards!
In just two weeks time I have already learned twenty English proverbs from ACCURATE ENGLISH. This is amazing!:) Well, in general we do have these proverbs in my language or dialects which is interesting. I would like to share some of my views on these proverbs. 1) There is plenty of fish in the sea. Well, we have something like " Where in the world is there a lack of fragrant grass". It means we are able to find or to see fragrant grass everywhere in the world. 2) Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I figured this is particularly suitable for any couple either married or non-married who are committed to each other, to their kids, or to their family. 3) Out of sight, out of mind It could be used probably to new acquaintances we just met or anybody we aren't that close with. 4) You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince This proverb might not be that suitable for my culture. When a girl starts a relationship she might not be serious or she might just fling it. My two cents.☺
from somaliland:- 1. The eyes in love don’t dare to stare at each other. means “ the lovers eyes are bushfull” 2. you can lead horse in water but you can’t force to drink it. means “you can’t force some one to loves you”
In Russian: ‘Ljubov’ zla - poljubish’ i kozla!’ (Любовь зла - полюбишь и козла!). Word for word translation: ‘Love is evil - you might fall in love even with a goat!’
Hi dear Mrs: we have proverb in persian that say : I AM FALL IN LOVE BUT I DO NOT HAVE MONEY GIVE ME A POT TO BRING YOU WATER( my name is Omid) thanks a lot
you are a great teacher! and i hope that jesus follows blessing to you and all your family forever, with GOD and you i have learned a lof things what i didnt know, GOD bless you dear, take care.

Hi Lisa, This is Minhui, I’m from China, but live in northern California. I have subscribed and watched your channel for quite a while, and I love your teaching, especially during lockdown. Here are some idioms, proverbs , and slangs we use pretty often in Southern China (as I’m from the south). A. about relationships 1-“Domestic flowers are not as fragrant as wild flowers” 2- “Don’t pick up wild flowers along the road” We can even find this song from Teresa Teng ( a famous Taiwanese singer). “Flowers” above mean women. 3- “Tender villagers ” mean brothels. B. about love 1- “respect each other as guest” : the husband and the wife raise their toasting glasses to their forehead to show respect to each other. Sounds a little too much, but very beautiful compared with nowadays’s domestic abuses. 2- “Short absence is beyond the newly wed”. Especially the very first night after wedding party. As a way of observing traditions, men and women are supposed not to sleep together until getting married, maybe he or she could have kissed a lot of fogs:D 3- “(tie the knot ) ( is ) out from the order of parents, and out from the words of matchmakers. No freedom of romantic love, especially in old days. Are they really “happy wife , happy life”? This one “ see the light at the end of tunnel “is from your previous session, I heard Dr. Anthony Fauci said that a few days later after you released. Now I listen New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s press briefing almost every day, he is such a star! From his briefing, I learned more phrases such as alphabet soup, bugle blower... Stay safe and healthy. Thank you. Minhui
ok in Russian we say literally: ''Love of the evil, you would love a goat'' let me make it more digestible : ''love can be so evil, that you could fall in love with a goat''. unless Im wrong it might have 2 meanings, slightly different ones. First is similar to ''love is blind'' or ''love doesn't discriminate'' as if you are so infatuated with someone that you dont realize that it is actually a GOAT. And second is that you dont have much choice, sort of it is your karma to be with someone who is not really a great person but you kind of stuck with this person and love is so evil in this case that you are left to be in love with a goat. second meaning is hard to transmit but it is more accurate. I really dont know how to make it more articulate =SS Im sorry. But the idea is that you admit, accept the partner and say with irony that this goat is my life partner... hah smth like that// a little edition: IT REFERS EXCLUSIVELY TO a male person, i.e. it is said only by women to the best of my knowledge because a goat in this case is ONLY a billy( I mean a father goat). anyway...
Thank you for teaching your lessons for the second time ,again and again. It’s very useful

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" I think is more true
Noorish Parveen Quraishi it varies person to person, and depends on how deep they are in love!
definitely
its true till u break up.
Both 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder' and 'out of sight out of mind' are true in certain ways, depends on how much love the individual has felt.
I have been a good English teacher for many years, but I would be happy to recommend this lady to my students so they can also learn something new.
Time heals all wounds. But I prefer Thai “all wounds heal but it would never be the same again”. You’re the best teacher😘😘😘
It is a great pleasure to listen to you, Lisa!

3) Out of sight, out of mind
It could be used probably to new acquaintances we just met or anybody we aren't that close with.
4) You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince
This proverb might not be that suitable for my culture. When a girl starts a relationship she might not be serious or she might just fling it.
My two cents.☺

Love with a teacher 's style is a prayer for me.
In Russian: ‘Ljubov’ zla - poljubish’ i kozla!’ (Любовь зла - полюбишь и козла!). Word for word translation: ‘Love is evil - you might fall in love even with a goat!’
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. It's perfect
A: Absence makes the heart fonder, right?
B: Er... not really. Out of sight, out of mind.
Perhaps it depends on... if someone is deeply in love, absence will work, if not, she or he will be forgotten owing to pride or dignity.
Am Hope , thank you so much ! I need to learn , what you taught from the beginning is that possible?
This indeed helps us get more interested in using proverbs in our speeches and writings. Thank you lisa!

2- “Short absence is beyond the newly wed”.
Especially the very first night after wedding party. As a way of observing traditions, men and women are supposed not to sleep together until getting married, maybe he or she could have kissed a lot of fogs:D
3- “(tie the knot ) ( is ) out from the order of parents, and out from the words of matchmakers.
Thank you.

Thank you so much Minhui for your effort. I enjoyed reading the Chinese proverbs. I like many of them. : )
ok in Russian we say literally: ''Love of the evil, you would love a goat'' let me make it more digestible : ''love can be so evil, that you could fall in love with a goat''. unless Im wrong it might have 2 meanings, slightly different ones. But the idea is that you admit, accept the partner and say with irony that this goat is my life partner... hah smth like that// a little edition: IT REFERS EXCLUSIVELY TO a male person, i.e. it is said only by women to the best of my knowledge because a goat in this case is ONLY a billy( I mean a father goat). anyway...
Useful and helpful as usual 👍 thanks so much Lisa 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
