I lead a virtual dealership that sells new cars online in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka. We sell a lot of brands, but stopped selling Tata since Sept 2023 exactly because of reasons you pointed out. Every single car that we sold, through vehicles sourced from different dealers had problems.
Cracked MID, cracked front bumper, Tail gate fit and finish was so bad that it just wouldn't close, paint defects towards the rear fender, etc.
It was such a pain getting a lot of these corrected. And we finally decided to just stop selling Tata for some peace of mind for ourselves and our customers.

Similar experience I faced 11 years back with Prerana Motors, Bangalore on Tata Indica Vista. As it was my first car I did not do any pdi etc, I noticed all the problems a week latter on usage and while cleaning. The beige color plastics used look different (faded) between right side compared to the left side door similar to dash board all faded due prolong sun uv light exposure. Later I found my car was an unsold unit pushed to me because of non availability of my ask variant.
In Tata motors you can insert 2 nos 5 rupee coins together between body gaps.
My advise is select the models with all known issues which has work around solutions.
I too faced some issues with Gurudev motors for my tata tigor infotainment.. sorted it out after 2 years after continuous follow up.. also there was minor rust in my car's boot..

Same rust issue I faced at the edge roof and front glass connecting spot. (After 4 of the delivery date) but they fixed it..fine now.

Your vehicle may be parked in yard for long time, check the manufacturing month using VIN number. Also you can book for XZ+ and wait for a month and taken delivery, there is a good chance that you can get the new vehicle.
Hyundai also not allowed for PDI on taking Venue Diesel. After isisting they allowed to see the vehicle but not given the key. taken to yard and just shown the vehicle, we have noted the VIN number and they delivered the same vehicle, Also don't see any issues on taking delivery. Also the vehicle current month manufactured.

Sir you are rightly saying. All spare parts comes in metal later they paint. The point they said is they will take from another car and fit in your vehicle.

Correct ah soninga bro. Naraya dealers ipdi thaan panraanga. First convince pana paapanga, give false assurance to repair in first service and later inda issue iruka daan seiyum nu solitu poiduvanga. Its our customer's right to settle then and there before taking delivery. Unga content is of good quality without any misleading promotions.
I planned to buy tata nexon, liked it very much when i saw the car but after ultimate negative reviews on after sales support, i switched to book a kia Sonet model.

We bought a ford Figo titanium blu version diesel! Which was the last cars they built before closure!!
We had no problem in PDI, now it feels good hearing what other companies do in their PDI!!

Ironically, I did complete my PDI for new Tata Safari. I found lots of glaring paint quality issues, exposed wires, plastic cladding/panel gaps, and interior damages (than too on roof liner). I have captured the images and videos and shared it with dealer and rejected the vehicle.

@@ManojKumar-gh2zh No I did not pay any amount for the vehicle other than the booking amount. I found these issues and rejected the car and told the dealer that I was not taking this vehicle after noticing such teething issues. The dealer in BLR agreed and ordered a new one (fingers crossed)
Don’t buy any car from Tata Motors and feel later. Step away from this brand

கோயமுத்தூர் Tafe ல் 2013ல் Indica vista delivery எடுத்தேன். அன்றே ஒரு side Head light எரியவில்லை. அதன் பிறகு ஒவ்வொரு சர்வீஸ்லயும் மிகவும் மோசமான சர்வீஸ் தான் அந்த டீலரிடம் கிடைத்தது.
10 வருடம் கழித்தும் நிலைமை மாறவில்லை

Bought fearless. Identified dent and rust during delivery. Also, rusting issues with in a month. Better avoid if you are spending too much for high models.

From beginning years onwards TATA car's have different different fit and finish issues. When I purchased Indica Vista quadrajet on 2008 I have faced same type of issue and worst customer service......
My friend's daughter bought TATA car she had the most frustrating experience with the dealers on after-sale service. However good the vehicle may be for a middle-class customer the after-sale service is most important.

These guys have not yet changed. Me and my friend faced a problem in dec 2019. Finally a manager named Balaji he sorted the issue for us. The salesperson will always give false promise…..

It's all about dealers. I took car from True Sai,Hosur. I got enough time to do the PD checks. Right from test drive till my second service they were very accomodative. Did not face any issue till date. Sometimes there could be delay, but quality was never compromised.

My purchase experience during purchase of nano in 2012 was good, and I seldom had any problem in service in these many years Other than that all my purchases, be it 2 wheeler or 4 wheeler were all disappointing. There is no transparency in billing. As it is across dealers and brands, I haven't mentioned the names. Government invoices are also not issued properly. Regulation should be made stringent.

உண்மை தான். நான் நெக்ஸான் XMA Variant book செய்திருந்தேன். ஆறு மாதம் ஆகியும் வண்டி கிடைக்கவில்லை. கடைசியில் அவர்கள் கொடுத்தது XMA PLUS SUNROOF மாடல். எங்கள் பட்ஜெட்டை விட இரண்டு லட்சம் ரூபாய் அதிகம் செலவானது. நமக்கு பிரயோஜனம் இல்லாத சன்ரூஃப் காக அதிகம் செலவானது.
Cars 24 asked my car for 3 lakh..
But under exchange for new car I got 1.2 lakh.... extra....from Mahindra...
24 asked for dead cheap rate...

Yes your thought is correct, but Bolero Neo has 3 cylinder engine and moreover requirement is for self driving small car only.

Same happened me in Royal Enfield.... i waited two days to check the bike, but they said bike not come in this slot and that slot, after two days morning 8AM one person called and telling bike was sent to registration plz come to Mandaveli RTO by 9.30AM.
i asked why u sent registration with out inform me... they said u can check ur bike before Registration but i not even seen the bike while registration.... they ask me to wait in street end and got signature from me.. then registration got over, next day they delivered the bike.... i faced engine issue....
On PDI it is common for all company car dealers... They are trying to avoid the customers from doing PDI...
Even mahindra cars have some issues with fit and finish, painting is good compared to tata but painting of plastic panels is not that great. This is the reason why i recommended japan or south korean brands
Sir, I would like to share my personal experience with TATA motors. In 2010, I booked Vista Safire after test driving. The sales executive said that the car will be delivered within 5 days. I really wondered. Because the waiting period at that time was 1 month. As promised by the sales executive, delivery was scheduled in the very next week. On the day of delivery, I asked them to show me the car before PDI. The sales executive accepted and some how he postponed it time to time. At the end of the day in the evening I straight away went to the showroom. I was shocked to see the car was full of dust. The odometer showed 230 kms. Immediately I refused to take delivery. The negotiations went on till 10.00 pm and was delivered with a cashback of 50000. The point is, cheating the customer if they are ignorant. Later I came to know that it was used for test driving. This was my first car buying experience with TATA motors The True Sai works Salem.

2017 la na tiago vangunen. First car. So no knowledge about pdi. Neraiya broken parts irunthadhu. Oru sila vishayam replace panni kuduthanga. Sila parts innum apdiye damega tha iruku.
1. front mud guard broken
2. boot tray hanger broken
3. Indicators not working after 5 seconda.
4. Improper Air filter fitting
5. Driver side A piller plastic cover bent
6. Co passenger seat is moving/shaking
7. Steering wheel not straight. Always pulling the car to right if i take off the hand from steering wheel.
8. co passenger door bottom corner is touching the body. So it made scratches in the body and causing rusting issue.
I found these problems in 2days myself after the delivery. I dont know about how the pdi inspection was done by the dealer.
I WONT RECOMMEND TATA CARS EVEN THOUGH I OWN TATA TIAGO MORE THAN 6 YEARS.

I just rejected Nexon Fearless Plus 4 days back due to quality issues and manufacturing defects on left side rear door (misalignment). Make sure nobody pays anything except booking amount till PDI.
I waited 3 months after booking but finally had to reject and again waiting.

I purchased an Altroz petrol, and I only had about 2 minutes to perform a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). Within that short time, I noticed a minor issue that is commonly found in TATA cars. Despite that, I am still okay with it. As you observed an extra paint drop, which I am also willing to overlook. However, I must say, this experience might have negatively affected someone's special day. I apologize for having to bring this up, but the individuals involved might not have seen this an issue in their lifetime.
You will feel about your worst decision in two to three years. Trust me . Tata Motors is worst
