New to your channel I love you’re tutorials you are a wonderful instructor for folks at home learning a new hobby. I love you thank you for what you do. I am going to attempt to try to make, you give such information and encouragement. I look forward to seeing more of what you have to show us grannies at home.
Neat ideas! I like the simplicity of keeping to similar sizes. You say you like to do plants. Have you done succulents? I have a windowsill garden going, then found an embossing folder with them I forgot I had. I think it would be neat to do succulents in quilling. I'm still in the beginning stage, so don't know they will turn out.
I do have a succulent tutorial! They’re 3D and you can find the video here 👉 ruclips.net/video/UgB_yUpFBg8/видео.html I also have a 3D cactus project that you might like too 👉 ruclips.net/video/0uVM_lRr58Y/видео.html
Everyone has their own style. Some like a lot of swirls. Some like to fill up every space with a shape. I like to use some negative space. I do have a video with ideas if you're stuck. You can see that here 👉 ruclips.net/video/kUnQjhPk4Nc/видео.html
The good thing about quilling is that you usually don't draw lots of details, so you don't need to be a "great" at drawing when it comes to your templates. You're going to add the details with paper. Also, drawing is a learned skill, just like anything else that gets better with practice.
I bought a few plastic templates that people use for painting shapes on fabrics. Taped the design to one edge of a cork board, then worked within the shape. If your shape is in the middle of the template, you can either use a larger cork board or cut out the one you want to work with. Thumbtacks can also help hold it in place.

Thank you so much for this! I totally forgot how to do this from art class in high school :D
The same tracing tip works great for writing on chalkboards, too!
How do you decide which shapes, type of quill etc. you will use to fill the design?

What kind of frames do you use?
Most often I have used deep set frames that I buy at a Michael's craft store, but I've framed many without glass, too.
What if your not good at drawing? What do you suggest then?
