- In this Taking the Mikel episode, John Obi Mikel looks ahead to the brand new English Premier League season. He gives his verdict on Chelsea’s pre-season form, makes an impassioned plea to Blues target Victor Osimhen and questions the club’s desire to get rid of two players who “bleed blue”: Trevor Chalobah and Conor Gallagher.
Mikel also calls on African Football Associations to up their game if players are to entice talent in the future to pledge their international allegiance to them. Hard-hitting stuff from the man who led Nigeria to African Cup of Nations glory back in 2013!

damn, i think what john said about african nations fa, similar like indonesian fa from the past. a couple years ago indonesian fa change their president from a person who typically just took the position because it generates a lot of money and it comes with fame and power with someone who actually loves and knows football in term of business and industry. he may be not an ex player, but he is the ex president of inter milan. thats why he can change and develop the system and the culture of not only the national team, but also football in general in indonesia. after that the government, the fans, the players are started to get on board and in sync with the fa.

I like your take on the Chelsea transfer policy, to be honest watching our games these days is so painful. The board is still buying for the future, they probably want to have 100 potential players and finish mid table every season. I also refuse this, the young players are now enough, we need world class players to blend and give these young lads something to look up-to.
