Gary Cahill's contribution to Chelsea was massive. He went from a relegation battle with Bolton in January to an FA Cup/Champions League double in May! Never looked out of place, always 100% on the pitch. Won the lot. Legend!
We weren't relegation bound beforehand, he was 1 of 3 players we lost for various reasons which doomed us. I enjoyed watching his Chelsea from afar though he was underrated even at chelsea
Gary Cahill…Top player. What a player he was for us. A great defender who pops up with important goals. His goals contribution was massive. Good to have him on the ObiOnePodcast. Well done guys
I think I read somewhere that Gary Cahill has the record for the player who won every club major the quickest, Prem, fa cup, league cup, community shield, UCL and europa league. Two him until 2015!
brother...don't said that....someone who trully knows football, is really enjoyed the way you played. to be honest, you came as a young man with Kalou, coming into squad like there were Lampard, Makelele, Ballack, Essien, Geremi, it's also an achievement for you. and after you retired, I realised that you are really unique. no one playing like you anymore these days, sometimes I really miss that too! I'm one of Chelsea fans that really understand how you read the game and it was really enjoyable to watch!
Carvalho left nearly 2 years earlier and Gallas left nearly 6 years earlier. May not have still had Alex either. Hence why they signed a new CB then lol
People forget he came from Bolton and immediately won the CL and the following year and won the Europa League. He was sold. Quiet but effective operator. Very underrated.
Gary Cahill wasn’t considered a great player but such a great defender for us. Value for money and will always be a Chelsea legend. Got the most out of himself which you can only take your hat off to him
The disrespect to Sarri was very unnecessary, this is a manager who worked his way up from Serie D to winning trophies at Chelsea & Juventus 👍, you dont do that without being a good coach
@@Wiintb lies. We finished out of cl spot year before he joined. He won us euorpa league and finished 3rd behind two of the greatest teams ever in city/liverpool that year. Your clueless
Nah, he deserves it. The way Sarri treated Cahill basically ghosting the captain at that time and longest serving player of our club, that heartwarming backstory of working your way to the top does not excuse anything. Just look at the difference the way Conte handled Terry in his final season and Sarri with Gary Cahill its night and day.
He might be a good coach but to pull out the captain of the team when you just came into the club is a really big call. Love David Luiz but he wasn't the answer, for some reason the guy didn't even play Christensen much. Big respect to the guy for getting us another European trophy but he made a few big mistakes.
List of next appearances I think us Chelsea fans want next in no order and of course missing lots….. Ramires, Oscar, David Luiz, Drogba, Ivanovic, Ashley, Matic
Nice show 💯 Obi and Chris.❤ Always giving out a wonderful podcast. Would like to join your team. I got lot's to offer. Thanks would appreciate the opportunity.
Maybe a 6 month loan deal as Vidic was injured for the whole 2nd half of that season but really no we still didn't need GaryCahill lol...plus our defensive record was still much better than Chelsea, he was lucky because he came in when they were having a bad season which could've only got better especially with the luck they had with the FAcup draws etc...mostly because the 2 best PL teams were drawn to play eachother first round ManUtd beat City at the Etihad which Chelsea simply wouldn't have done (even with MartinAtkinson officating) and ManUtd then had to go to Anfield so in just 2 games ManUtd had harder games overall than Chelsea's whole tournament and ManUtd won them the FAcup they didn't win it (and Chelsea helped lose ManUtd the PL by Chelsea cheating Wigan 2-1 in April 2012 due to how everyone felt sorry for Wigan after that game said small teams never get decisions against big teams and Wigan need the points they're fighting relegation and deserved to beat Chelsea but Chelsea win with 2 illegal goals to Wigan's legitimate goal and then Wigan actually cheated ManUtd the next game which shifted the momentum with ManCity in the title race) Chelsea were around that time the most favoured PL team in terms of decisions so often they would be bailed out when they've played badly but if he'd come into 1of the 2 Manchester teams who were more reliant on consistent performances were both way ahead of everyone else I doubt he would’ve handled that pressure and ManUtd are even more scrutinised than Chelsea and he mentioned about Chelsea being scrutinised. Chelsea were the type who get decisions and people didn't make a big thing about it because people would just try to make ManUtd the scapegoat all the time just because of their stature & success instead never forget anything that goes their way like every team get but Chelsea were crybabies if they didn't get their way so they'd played victim and make many remember when they were robbed more which takes the pressure off. So they should win because they've spent enough on players who can win them games but they'd often be bailed out if they didn't play well and also they were allowed to make up excuses more than ManUtd if they didn't get good result.
Gary Cahill's contribution to Chelsea was massive. He went from a relegation battle with Bolton in January to an FA Cup/Champions League double in May! Never looked out of place, always 100% on the pitch. Won the lot. Legend!
Proper centre back.
He was the junior version of John Terry.
Played above his rating and with his heart for Chelsea.
Exactly, what happens when you have experienced players around you.
Unlike now.
Top drawer Comment 👍
He was good when paired alongside Terry. Terrible when Terry retired.
I honestly love Gary for one thing. No goal went in without him putting his body on the line.
He was the last inch tackle man.
He was one of the best blockers of the ball iv ever seen. Especially for a big lad, he would always come flying at the ball. Really liked Gary
Didier Drogba's episode will be massive.
Anticipating...
Well done, John, and tell Chris that I love his voice so much!
That his Scottish accent 😊
We need Oscar on this podcast ^^ He's disappeared from media!! Miss that guy.
Will never happen
He might just do this in Mandarin/Chinese 😂
Same
Cahill signed for us in January 2012 from relegation-bound Bolton and won every major club completion within 2 and a half years. Absolute chad.
And he was a starter. UCL 2012, 14/15 season
We weren't relegation bound beforehand, he was 1 of 3 players we lost for various reasons which doomed us.
I enjoyed watching his Chelsea from afar though he was underrated even at chelsea
Most underrated player for chelsea. I used to love him when he was playing for bolton and wished chelsea sign him and they did. Man he was so good.

Man I didn’t know what to expect from Cahill but what a guy. I really enjoyed his interview.
Always liked Gary at Bolton, watch him raise his levels at Chelsea and grew to love him.
Gary Cahill…Top player. What a player he was for us. A great defender who pops up with important goals. His goals contribution was massive. Good to have him on the ObiOnePodcast. Well done guys
Gary Cahill is an absolute legend! I didn't even know who or where he came from at the time. His service to the club was massive!
What a legend, I missed the good old days, we’ve actually enjoyed a lot of memories with Chelsea 💙💙
Absolutely lovely. Top professional in Gary. Love you Obi
Bring on Didier
Gary scored so many important goals in big games. What a player!

Gary, Chelsea Legend 💙
I agree about the Paulo Ferriera underrated statement by Obi
I don’t remember any Cahill interviews or content during Chelsea this was a cool change up
Proper bloke Gaz!
Enjoyed the interview
Underrated player
Gary Cahill was underrated for that Chelsea squad basically he was your poor man's John Terry when Terry was injured and declining.
An absolute wall Cahill was! Strong, good in 1 v 1s, that aerial extra you get with him, thank you, Gary 💙
Very underrated centre back. Absolutely bossed it for Chelsea between 2012-2017
We love you Gaz! Thank you for everything!
Cahil was quality for us and definitely underrated. Legend
Great Shoutout to Paulo Ferreira. Seasoned Pro

Thanks you Cahill. You did a massive job. Mikel, bring in Drogba/ Essien/ kalou and Adebayo
Beside his defending, I also adore his shooting and goal scoring capabilites!
Gary Cahill was a guy I admire so much at Chelsea. During his days, we were very sure of ending our games with clean sheets.
Great episode with Gary, an unsung hero of the Chelsea glory years. Please bring our Portuguese friends, Paulo Ferreira and Ricardo Carvalho!
Love Gary Cahill pillar in the cb position
Obi one podcast is the bomb 💣
Class player Cahill
To all young Chelsea fans, listen carefully what he said about JT. I don't see Enzo or Reece James doing this that's how far we've come 😮
I think I read somewhere that Gary Cahill has the record for the player who won every club major the quickest, Prem, fa cup, league cup, community shield, UCL and europa league. Two him until 2015!
Underrated legend ❤😢
Gary Cahill, one of my Chelsea favs. I love you!

Gary got better and better as his career went on with Chelsea. He was as solid a center back as you could find.
Top top leader 😊 one of unsung heroes of Chelsea 🎉
Enjoyed this
People forget he came from Bolton and immediately won the CL and the following year and won the Europa League. He was sold. Quiet but effective operator. Very underrated.
A real song this one🕊️💔
Gary a true Chelsea legend and HERO OF MUNICH
Class player cahill❤🌶
Cahill a Chelsea legend people forgets his contribution remember UEFA triumph he was very instrumental. Bring in David Luiz too.
DavidLuiz also knocked out Chelsea in 2015 with PSG when Chelsea had a numerical advantage for wasn't it 90 minutes at Stamford bridge 😂
THERE'S ONLY ONE GARY CAHILL 💙💙💙
Fernando Torres in the interview next should be intresting
Almost 10 mins of chat before the interview is quite frustrating. Make it quicker pls. Quick intro and get into the substance
We love the intro. This is a podcast and they’re great at what they’re doing.
Start your own podcast
When are you bringing Salomon Kalou to the Obione podcast?
Sarriball was in full implementation when they (Chelsea), beat Arsenal 4- 1 in Europa league final in 2019.
John Terry is a legend
Brother don’t be afraid of the mic get up on that thing and you’ll reduce the echo
Such a great player!
Hi Jon, you should invite Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen for a podcast together. That will be great!
Gary cahill was one under rated centre half 💙
Love Gary LEGEND

Gary Cahill, my JT 2.0
He was cool and great
Love the pod, I think you should skip the intro bit you do and do it at the end.
Well, Sarri was right in dropping you mate.
I miss those days so much seeing what Chelsea is now hurts me so much
They weren't that good then they just spent more than everyone and got away with cheating before VAR.
Don't forget Gary was Bolton captain, massive player for Chelsea
I remember he was bought from Bolton, as a United fan I needed him at United
