    A wash 'n go is my favorite style as well. I wear my hair out on a Sunday/wash day, and then Monday through Saturday I wear a bun when I'm up and I wear my hair down when I go to bed. I have tailbone length wavy/curly hair. It is thanks to women like yourself that I have discovered great routines, and great products for my own hair. I have learned that I can use the very same products as tighter coiled ladies, just a lot less of it. That is really key. Thank you. And may you continue to do well on your journey. Lots of love, from a viewer in Belgium.

    The Sage is back!! I adopted and slightly modified/personalized your routine about a 8 months ago and it had made such a HUGE difference in the strength, length and definition of my hair and curls. My wash n go's literally last 10 - 14 days. I even pushed it to 3 weeks once just to see (it shedded like an old cat though LOL so that was a 1st and a last for 3 weeks) - the curls were still poppin though!! I am forever grateful for the day I found your channel. It has seriously changed the life of my hair and for that I say thank you sooo very much!! Subbie for life!!

    Glad to see someone else who doesn’t protective style their hair. I love my wash n gos! Just about every curly girl says that’s the key to length retention but what’s the use of having beautiful curls if you can’t show them off.

      I may redo the front high porosity section on the same day or next day if necessary by reapplying the product. But that's only when I don't get good hold. Other than funky pieces, I do not re-moisturize, I do not spritz my hair. I cover at night with a silk scarf in order to maintain moisture. I have shown what it looks like with I redo the funky pieces of hair in a previous video. I will reply with the link when I get another moment.

    i loooooooooove the fact that you stick with your products to give them a chance. I notice that a lot of us naturals with decent length have this in common. We stick with the same products long term. Have you considered shea butter as a replacement for some of these gels?

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 лет назад +1

      Thank you! Shea butter is a common ingredient in my moisturizers. As a holding product in place of gel it would be too light for the level of definition I like. If I want my hair big and fluffy I may consider.

    I heard another stylist say that eco styler is horrible to use on the hair because it coats the hair and is nearly impossible for people who use it all the time to get it off the hair (basically you can only cut your hair to completely get rid of it). What are your thoughts?

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 лет назад +3

      I would not have used it for a full year if that were true. If that were true, I would have no hair. Eco Styler does not break your hair. Lack of adequate moisture dries your hair and excessively dry hair becomes brittle. Brittle hair is extremely fragile and weak and it eventually breaks. This can happen to anyone using any product incorrectly or ineffectively. Please join me on Periscope or Facebook Live and hear me talk about topics like this pretty much on a weekly basis. Many thanks!

    This is helpful to see your other styling combos like the kinky curly. I recently cut my hair again and the knot today is a two in one leave-in and styler. Now have you tried Aubrey Organics conditioners for your low porosity section? I used to use them when I went natural in 2007 and have started again. Their "GPB" Balancing and "honeysuckle rose" deep conditioners soak immediately into my wiry texture and improve elasticity.

    I just started using sulfates every wash day(once a week) I actually mix moisturizing shampoo with a little sulfate shampoo. I LOVE SULFATES and HAIR GREASE.

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  4 года назад +1

      You will get more benefit out of your wash is you cleanse with the sulfate based shampoo first. Rinse your hair so it can remove what it needs to. Apply the moisture shampoo on freshly cleansed and rinsed hair to restore the moisture and softness. May you have a blessed day.

    Your videos are really informative. I’m a wanna-be wash and go girl, but every time I do this style but day 3 my hair is super dry and prone to single strand knots😕 Do you have any advice?

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 лет назад +1

      Sounds like you may be due for a trim to get rid of split ends...in terms of moisture retention are you styling on soaking wet hair?

    • @daniellechambers2711
      @daniellechambers2711 7 лет назад +1

      Yep, Im soaking my hair with water, Paul Mitchell leave in and then Eco gel. My hair shrinks to almost twa, my hair is collarbone length. I just can’t get my hair to elongate🙁

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 лет назад +7

      Try squeezing the excess water off your hair before applying the leave in so that it is applied to damp hair instead of soaking wet. This will allow the leave in conditioner to adhere to your hair and eventually absorb into the hair strand for better moisture retention.

    Great video as usual. But I had a question, I follow your wash and go routine but I can't keep my wash and go for more than 3 days, and washing this video made be realize than I actually don't use a moisturizing shampoo and a conditionner after the shampoo. The main reason is that I have low porosity hair and I don't want to put too much products in my hair. I use a clarifying shampoo (everytime I wash my hair) and after directly the deep conditionner. Do you think that is the reason I can keep my wash and go for more than 3 days ? Do you think I should incorporate them to my routine ? thank you in advance

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 лет назад +2

      Thank you! Actually, it can be any variety of factors that you are only getting 3 days since you are not the first person to mention this. The outcome is determined by the process, products and technique. If you add the other steps that would be a change in process and products and if it's still not yielding better moisture retention then you will need help with your technique. So give it try and let's see what happens.

    Great information. Love your videos. I love love love wet line xtreme gel for my protein sensitive low porosity hair. I just found out that it contains triaethanolamine. How do you feel about gels that? Some of the eco gels contsin that. I'm afraid to continue using gels that contain that.

      I have been questioned about the ingredients in Eco Styler several times. But have never seen any information with specific data that demonstrates a cause of concern. Is it true that deep conditioning plays a huge part in defined curls when you had your Gel? I noticed I tend to have more frizz at the beginning of my hair strand. Even after going over the hair strand with gel several times. It seems the hair does not want to absorb the gel. I have low porosity hair I think all over. So I'm not sure if I'm conditioning too long which does not allow the gel to enter the cuticle or I'm using the wrong conditioner? Please help...thank you

    I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong in my routine... EVERY morning (since I've gone without heat) I have to completely drench my hair and reapply my products because my hair is a matted, dry mess when I take my scarf off. I recently started cowashing to see if that would help with no such luck. I've used the mielle organics line and worked for the first 2 days but had a reapply daily until my next wash day... Can anyone help me? lol

    • @12MrBo

      alexis nicole well usually heat opens cuticles so the hair can better absorb product and moisturize it. Clarify your hair and use a steamer to deep condition

      Have you figured out what your hair likes? For me, my hair gets very dry when I use products with silicones and drying alcohols. I use Uncle Funky’s Daughter Extra Butter moisturizer (or the Deva Curl Super Stretch) under the UFD Curly Magic. At night you could band your hair in 6 or 8 sections before tying your hair with a silk scarf. This might allow you to refresh and reshape with water the next day without worrying about tangles.

    I have low porosity hair and gel dries my hair out to the point I don't wear wash and go's. What gel would you recommend that doesnt dry out hair so badly or product combo or what you have you used to avoid extreme dry out. I would like to wear wash and gos again. I have noticed with me that the gels that make my hair dry have protein in them. So it may be that you are protein sensitive which is common with people with low porosity hair. If you want to try gels without protein Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic is good. Also the Wetline Extreme is good too that she mentioned, but I can't use it when the humidity is high because it has glycerin in it which causes my hair to swell in high humidity weather. Hope this helps.

    Question my crown area is growing back and I want to try a wash n go. Just don't want to over manipulate that area.

      Interesting. If the style you currently wear is working for you, maybe try the washngo only occasionally.

      I may use it again. As evidenced by my use of Mielle Organics, when I know a product is good I am likely to return to it. Right now, these are the products I am using.

    Your name is spelt like a girl born on Tuesday in Ghana. Except you pronounce it different. In Ghana, the 'E' in Abena is silent.
