⁃ 1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas
⁃ 2 lemons
⁃ 1 medium cloves garlic

⁃ 3 to 4 tablespoons water (depending on the consistency you prefer)
⁃ 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Here on Long Island (NY), the covid numbers seem to be decreasing but I'm still cautious. My Sunday morning routine is go shopping early (just after the supermarket opens) then come home in time to watch your weekly video. While most people in the store are unmasked (the mask mandate is now gone), I still wear my KN95 mask. Too many people go through the store each day and I don't know who might be spreading something. Not just covid... also the common cold, flu, etc. As much as I dislike having to wear a mask, now that it's no longer a "weird" thing to do, it does make me feel more protected from multiple diseases. Hope you stay healthy!

There is a place in mapo next to Gongdeok Station that has the best sourdough bread called Sudeobun. You can even get half loaves. Highly recommended

I live in CT and we just had Omicron go through our area. My niece and great niece have it now because she is in daycare. Plus my niece is vaccinated. They are isolating and recovering. I baked homemade bagels for them. Keep being smart about it. It’s almost time for warmer weather and we will be able to eat at outside restaurants or just go on a picnic.

Instead of olive oil add in ice cubes to keep the hummus hydrated. Also, warm your canned chick peas up remove floating skins. Warm chickpeas blend much better. Just put olive oil on top of hummus. It will be smooth & silky.
I’m glad that you guys are staying safe. It seems maybe the wave you’re experiencing is similar to the omicron wave the US had around December/January. Yeah, since omicron didn’t really start spreading in Korea until around 2 months after it did in the U.S, that’s likely what’s going on right now 😩 Thankfully the weather is getting warmer so we (and people in general) can enjoy more activities outdoors, rather than packed indoor spaces where transmission is rampant.
Just flew into Seoul this weekend. I woke up to a "Emergency Alert: EXTREME" message on my phone and I was like is North Korea invading or what? 👀Finally got it translated and it was like vaccinate and wear a mask. I was like oh that makes more sense, way to overreact😅. I've been watching Juvenile Justice during my quarantine so thanks for the recommendation, I've been enjoying it! Sourdough starter is way too complex for us to tend to and ‘keep alive’ tbh 😩
East coast US here. December and January was super super scary with Omicron. I don’t know how but my family was able to dodge it while everyone around us caught it. (Maybe we caught it but didn’t notice?) anyway even though it was super scary, the numbers went down dramatically within a month. So hang in there. I know it’s makes anxiety worse with this kind of situation but it will get better. Stay safe!
Yeah, that’s when we were in Canada and literally the week after we arrived is when things started to get crazy in Canada and the U.S with omicron. It’s definitely pretty scary seeing 1% of the population testing positive day after day, so really hope the numbers drop soon :(

We missed two years of staying safe then we all got sick right after getting our booster. Our son went to work and came back sick (he was waiting for his booster appt)My husband was sick for a few days. I was sick for like two weeks...just cough, body ache and fever/cold. Son was sick the worst and has a cough that is now ongoing for two months. I think we are all sick of covid. Everyone wants like to back to normal. STay safe.💜

I know how you feel about Covid, most places here in the US are basically acting like everything is normal which is really disorienting and I'm still really nervous, if I'm being honest. But at the same time, our cases have dramatically dropped and at this point it's like most everyone is either vaccinated or has had it or has had it AND is vaccinated, so there's not much more that can really be done, I guess. I had to go to a company dinner 2 weeks ago and it was my first time in an indoor restaurant without a mask in 2 solid years. It was both really nice and really scary for me, lol. We still wear our masks most everywhere we go, as do others in our community, but now it's the exception instead of the rule. It's really weird.
Lol Kyuho is just like my husband, I'll be sitting there in bed trying to read and he'll turn on RUclips on his phone and I'm just like BRUHHHH. I will straight shoot daggers into the side of his head! 🤣😂🤣😂

Same! I’m still nervous and rather be safe than sorry (vaccinated but haven’t gotten it and don’t want it in my body if possible).
But now I’m one of a very small handful in any store with my mask on (especially with it getting warmer!).
I have family with compromised immune systems, so I’m even more cautious of putting my guard down quite yet.
But I’m also like you… what else can be done now?

I don't understand why in S. Korea the outbreak of covid is growing so rapidly when they always where their masks and are more cautious of themselves than here in the U.S. But the numbers are going down here. Hospitalization of covid patients is going down, deaths are way down.

It’s likely spreading because omicron is so contagious, and Korea is a very small, VERY densely populated country. People wear masks here, sure, but when people are still gathering in restaurants and bars indoors with little to no air circulation, then go to school or work…it spreads super fast.

It seems like during this omnicron variant that a lot of Asian and other countries are taking it more seriously than in America. I'm a chronically ill person that is considered immunocompromised so I have to be careful. I'm not paranoid about it because the only thing I can do is control myself. I can't control anybody else (no matter how much I want to. Lol) I do what I can to mitigate risk but I find it frustrating that a lot of other Americans seem to be in massive denial about this pandemic. More and more places are relaxing their restrictions to completely having none. And the ones that do take it seriously experience not only what I call "pandemic fatigue"but also having to deal with less intelligent individuals.

다행히도 3차 백신 접종률이 높아서 중증으로 가는 비율이나 치명률이 매우 낮은것 같더군요. 더이상 거리두기를 강화해도 행정력이 예전 같지 않고, 주위의 사람들이 걸려도 별일 없으니 가볍게 생각하는 사람이 많아졌습니다. 거기다 자영업자에 대한 보상이 적어 더이상 막고 있을 멍분도 없구요. 정부는 애초에 백신접종까지 최대한 시간 끌어 방역하고, 그 뒤에는 점차적 거리두기 완화를 계획하던 차라 더 이상 강력하게 막지는 못할 거 같네요.
규호님이 더 잘 아시겠지만, 한국언론에선 사실보도가 아니라 정치적 이득을 위해 중대한 사실도 비틀어서 보도하기를 주저 하지 않습니다. 세라님이 건강 염려증이 있으시니(제 이모도 그러셔서 충분히 공감합니다) 언론에서 나오는 극단적인 공포유발 기사같은건 잘 알려드리면 좋겠네요.
