    i feel like what helps me whenever i'm struggling a bit mentally is doing all of the things that bring me comfort. like watching my comfort show, eating some comfort food, and also trying to find the little things that i can romanticize like being reading a book in a cozy spot in some gloomy weather even though i miss the sunshine. sending much love 🤎

    Once daylight savings hit during the fall it def makes me feel some type of way. It gets dark so fast now and it makes me not wanna do anything, feeling unmotivated 😭. I never knew what seasonal depression was until I was in my mid 20s 🙃😂. But I just gotta do simple things that bring me joy that somewhat helps my seasonal depression.

    Sending big hugs Celine 💗 can relate at the moment, for me, I always a little SAD after a big holiday. For sleeping, I find that getting out of bed as soon as my mind is racing and switching it up and moving to the sofa and reading a book until I am sleepy again has helped. Trying to train my body that bed is for sleeping. Canada in fall looks so cozy 🍁🍂 xx

    Really enjoying getting into your videos, your thinking, your growing awareness. FWIW, you're on the right path for you, your decisions seem so in keeping. I've coped with depression and SAD for decades, what works for me is allowing the daylight to regulate my awake time - going to sleep earlier in the fall and so I get to enjoy the early mornings more. (And no, I wasn't a "morning person" most of my life, but I like the seasonal change-ups. They give me a sense of control over my life and allow for some flexibility too.) Also, life has taught me patience in that "this too shall pass" is a saying that guides me into more patience. One thing that used to stump me is my preference for laying in bed in the morning, kinda dreading getting up, and then the negative-thought cycle would kick in. Now I just get up when the alarm goes off and I get going. Drugs/supplements never worked right, except for coffee. Yoga helps enormously. Getting the body active keeps my mind at bay. And I meditate and read books voraciously, those two are essential. I think creating routines in morning and night also help - to wind up and wind down. My body looks forward to them like a dog eager for treats. Hope these help! I'm with you.

      thank you for sharing! 💜 I think your approach to embracing the natural rhythm of the seasons is a great way to handle it and I'm glad to hear you've been successful in managing SAD and depression, it can certainly feel defeating at times. I'm currently working on a better morning and night routine as you suggested, and trying to work in some meditation too. thank you for stopping by, great to hear from you ☀️

    @Celinelikedion Hello Celine, it was so nice to watch another lovely video. 🤗The engagement party looked like fun, especially the food and the drinks. And one definitely cannot go wrong with a simple black dress👍. I feel it is always good to pace oneself when it comes to alcohol because if not, one tends to suffer the consequences the next day, feeling like💩, not sleeping well and waking up with dry skin etc . Also, I have noticed in getting older, I cannot tolerate alcohol as much as I used to, due to slowing down of the metabolism. I loved red wine so much but now I can’t handle it anymore.
    I am so glad that you discussed SAD to make people aware of it. You are doing all the right things in dealing with it especially with walking more with Bean and going to the gym. I always say to people who struggle to get to the gym is to do workouts in baby steps. I run 7 days a week for an hour and if I don’t do it, I notice how my mood changes. Also, one’s diet can affect moods and I have heard that Mediterranean diet is helpful for the moods.
    When I worked as a health professional, I always advised people to take melatonin one or two hours before going to bed😴 , try to take it at the same time each night and try to wake up at the same time each morning if possible. Our body’s own melatonin increases when it is starts to get dark and decreases towards morning. Also, blue light decreases melatonin and red light increases melatonin. So, I advise dimming the lights or trying to minimise light pollution in the home, especially on computers/phones, using the twilight, flux apps which filters the blue light and soothes the eyes with a red filter. Also, don’t go to bed when you are tired, let sleep come on naturally🥱. I hope this advice helps.🙏Cheers Lara🦘🐨

      @Celinelikedion  10 месяцев назад +2

      wow thank you so much for the insights 🥹 I genuinely appreciate the detailed advice, especially about melatonin and managing blue light exposure, it's crazy how much these factors impact our sleep cycle. I think I'll use more caution with melatonin moving forward and will look into the twilight app! and I agree more people should know about SAD, I wish I'd figured it out sooner! so nice to hear from you as always 🐨🫶

My depression for me occurs in Spring and Summer and Fall and Winter are my favorite times. 9:21 hi, Celine! If you haven’t tried this already, I would definitely recommend forcing yourself to go to bed earlier if possible. There’s nothing wrong with needing 8 to 9 hours of sleep. I usually sleep for about 9 to 10 hours and I find it very refreshing. I do have to go to bed very early, but I’ve chosen in my life to prioritize my sleep over most things. Not saying, you don’t prioritize it! Just wanted to give my advice. 😊

    Hiii friend! Let me start by saying you loooook so good with this black dress!! Love the full look!
    I feel the same with melatonin, I feel like I sleep like a rock when I use it. In a good way though. But yes the morning is a bit harder. Maybe do a slower morning, like yoga or stretching to slowly wakeup?
    About the ice cream, we usually get the other one too, didnt try this one!!

    Hello Celine living the dream how are you? Well first I want to say I know this season can be dark literally and figuratively. I hope and pray that plenty of light shines through your window.
    I'm always happy to see my buddy Bean and his handsome overbite. Such a cool dog. You looked 🔥 at that engagement party. The 💥. Can't go wrong with classic black. I love women that have style.
    As far as your sleep. I've unfortunately been a night shift worker for many years so I take melatonin. Here's the thing. Don't fight 8 or 9 hours of sleep. It's healthy. I would only recommend it on off days.
    If you're going to take it and wake up early I suggest you take it at 8pm or 9pm at the latest.
    Melatonin does its job so just surrender to the comforting arms of sleep Celine. Anyway it's always a pleasure connecting with you friend. See you next time.
