I enjoy your videos. Your style is so laid back. It's relaxing. I have the CSB PSQ in Tuscany and really like it. The leather is breaking-in nicely and starting to take on character. Like you, I like the note paper in the back. I've set this Bible up for visitation and evangelism by writing out the Gospel plan on some of those blank pages and by adding some vinyl adhesive pouches in the back for tracts and things. I'm praying for you and your family as you prepare for your move to the UK.
My wife and I recently got CSB PSQs. She got the Tuscany and I got the black goatskin zipper and I was a little jealous of hers. I’ve pre-ordered the Tuscany ESV stridon and I’m super excited for that thick calf skin.
Hi A. Enos. Just stumbled on this video and recognized you immediately. I was looking for a review on the Bible i just got laurie for Mothers Day. Schuyler NIV Quintel Black Pearl Calfskin Full Yapp. She doesn't yet know what she has. Lol. Nice video and review. God Bless Robert and Laurie Cherry Valley
Such a beautiful Bible 😊! I made a suggestion that they use some kind of a violet or purple hue under gold for the art gilding and also the same color for ribbons. I almost feel like the colors that they chose is almost a little too monochromatic. There needs to be a contrast.
Fabre Castell Pitt Artist Pens are the best highlighters in be found! I’ve been using them for years and they are amazing. Some of the darker colors will make it difficult to see the text still, so I stick to lighter colors, like the green gold is my favorite! The pigma micron peens 005 and 003 are my favorite for my note taking. Bless you, brother!
Hey brother, I’ve seen many amazing reviews of this Bible, but a few people talking about the red in a part of Matthews being almost pink and unreadable. Have you noticed this or any other issues? I really want one of these but that’s kind of keeping me from pulling the trigger. And the 28 gsm paper.
Looks really nice. I’m not a massive fan of “red letter” either, mainly because there are some sections where we are not totally sure if they are actually the words of Christ or of the writer of the book. And so the “red letter” verses can vary from Bible/translation to Bible/translation. It is better to be black so the reader can decide for themselves. A
I’ve heard that some people don’t like red letter text from a theological standpoint. Where does it say, or even assume, that the red letters carry more weight than the rest of the Bible? I don’t get it. To me, the red letters are exactly what they are said to be I.e what Jesus directly said. It’s nothing to do with some parts of scripture, being more elevated than other parts. Anyway, please let me know if I’m missing something here. Nice review btw.
Great question! I agree, it’s not something the Bible says or implies. Part of what’s troubling is that people, sometimes even pastors, are emphatic about the red letters above the rest of the Bible. I’ve heard many people say things like, “that’s why I stick to the red letters.” I do think red letters can be very helpful in distinguishing what Jesus said, when he was speaking. I just personally don’t prefer words of Christ in red, but I know loads of people do. Thank you for your comment!
Great video. I don't think I've seen any of your videos before. I just subscribed. Personally, I'll read either red letter or black letter. It doesn't really matter to me. I do wish companies like Thomas Nelson, Holman, Crossway or Zondervan would come out with a black letter option in their non-premium Bibles. It seems like the only way you can get a black letter option is in a premium Bible and I can't afford it. By the way, Jesus' words didn't start appearing in red until 1899. Dr. Louis Klopsch, the owner-editor of the American edition of the Christian Herald magazine was writing an editorial for the magazine when he saw Luke 22:20, which read, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood". He realized those were the words of Jesus when he instituted the Lord's Supper. He thought to himself that all blood was red, so why not a red letter Bible with the words of Jesus in red?
There are definitely a variety of opinions on this matter. At the end of the day, it’s translation methodology, “thought-for-thought” vs. “word-for-word.” An argument can be made for translating according to authors’ intent rather than sticking to words over meaning. Many prefer going for original wording rather than meaning. I don’t personally believe either is wrong, I praise God for the variety and scholarship that has gone into making the Word accessible to people according to the way they best understand it.

Thank you so much, brother! That’s a great idea having all of those resources in the back of your Bible!

I think that would have been an awesome addition to this Bible for sure! The accents would be really cool.
Do you like the 11 point font?
Amazing video ❤ your video just popped up I'm a new Sub 🎉
So kind! I really enjoy your videos as well, my friend!
What kind of pens and highlighters do you use so they don't bleed through? Would love some suggestions!

Yes, I totally agree!

Such great history! Thank you for sharing. I agree, reading both is truly an honor!
THE NIV HAS GONE WOKE , BY CHANGING WORDS THAT ARE MORE GENDER NUETRAL

The NIV has gone gender accurate.
I farted.
And you're sharing that on a Bible review video?
