The "I call him Skittles" line was from an episode of Friday Nights where you all were building a cube and Graham wanted to add Skithiryx The Blight Dragon.
It makes him more approachable :)

For people watching this in the future, the name at 21:43 looked like ⼕ㄩ尺讠ㄖ丂讠七丫. If RUclips breaks the unicode on this comment, it's a bunch of Japanese characters (I think) that sort of look like the latin alphabet.
The "other name" for the Fair Basilica that Graham refused to read at 1:08:16 was "The Fair Cloaca"
Not only did this set have a Phyrexian Bat, Phyrexian Cat, and Phyrexian Rat, it also had a Phyrexian Vat, Phyrexian Hat, and Phyrexian Tat

For Skrelv, my playgroup has begun to use Mother in Law. It's a Toxic relationship dealing with one in real life for many, and sometimes they can be helpful. (As well as the "Only I can give you issues, anyone outside of the family can't." type flavor of Skrelv's effect.)

The fact that Cameron went for the Princess Bride reference on Prologue to Phyresis when I submitted “Count Tamiyo Rugen and Wesley, the Dread Pirate Gobberts” makes it clear I played to the wrong audience on that one. :P

I'm here pretty early, pretty happy to see Graham looking a lot healthier.
Karumonix nickname is from the streamer Jerma985. He made a short called "The Rat Movie" with some old movie maker software for kids way back when he was just doing RUclips. It's so popular with his audience that he released a reanimated version of the movie on RUclips just a couple years ago, I think.
The audio for it has become very popular on TikTok too
I submitted two nicknames for Infectious Inquiry: Sign in Oil and Blight's Whisper. I'd really hoped Blight's Whisper would win, since it's _definitely_ the better joke, but more people are familiar with Sign in Blood than Night's Whisper, so I kinda knew it wouldn't happen.
The nickname was actually, "♫Take these broken Broken Wings references, and learn to nickname again.♫" There were two "broken"s; i.e. The Broken Wings references were, themselves, broken.
"Eat these teeth, for they are my teeth" got me good
Aspirant's Ascent got me. I love Tim Curry's delivery of the original line so much.

Normally I'm not surprised anymore when the crew miss a reference. There's so many things out there, it's impossible to have heard of all things, especially when you're busy making things!

I love that the location at the beginning of the video is a card not from ONE, not from Scars of Mirrodin, but from original Mirrodin block - but still a Phyrexian card. LRR does their homework. =D

I do wish the nicknames that referenced the flavor text would add in a note to read the flavor text as a few that Graham says sound like they need that extra touch of explanation to make the joke land.
Given the new character limit - a good change IMO - hard to justify while trying to make the joke work, we need to develop a shorthand or acronym to append that takes minimal space but gives G context, maybe FLV or FTR - flavour text relevant

JoinedTwitchForDesertBus here. This was a lot of fun like always, although I must say the whole nicknaming process had a weirdly horny vibe this time around. Now, I don't have any problem with that, and I will admit I was definitely 'part of the problem' on this one, it's just a little odd that a set with so much body horror unleashed so many thirsty nicknames.
