      I noticed watching his film to make this video he doesn’t flop at all. He’s so strong and holds his ground on every drive and the refs don’t call it half the time. Other superstars flop everytime there is a little bit of contact and get the calls way more.

      @@analyticswithchrisI watch all of the pelicans games, he hasn’t been known to flop or anything untill recently he’s been selling the call much more. The only way he gets the foul called and it still isn’t a 100% that it gets called. The Zion officiating is insane. If you gave zion the same exact calls they give Giannis,Embid and Shai he would be up to 30+ ppg .

      😂 Yeah I noticed that too. Point Zion started when Stan Van Gundy was coaching (incidentally his healthiest season). Then it came back last year when the Pelicans were clearly the best team in the West for that month/six week long period. We were yelling for it to come back this year, but I think his conditioning just wasn't there yet to run it consistently.
      Now he's clearly in better shape. I mean look at how active he has been on defense

    “When you are as young, fast, and athletic as Zion, the number attached to his weight shouldn’t matter” I mean, maybe. I would love for an expert on kinesiology or sports medicine to weigh in. I have always thought of the human body as a machine in some sense. A very complex machine and excess weight stresses the weight-bearing joints in your hips, knees, and spine. Maybe he is built different and his body is designed to operate optimally at that weight without long term ramifications.

    • @Bestever22688
      @Bestever22688 8 месяцев назад +2

      Weight does not stress joints, FAT does , he’s maybe 12% body fat..people joke about zion but he’s actually really lean, if he was fat he wouldn’t be that explosive at 285 (44 in vertical) that is beyond freakish.

    • @CB-yh3db
      @CB-yh3db 8 месяцев назад

      @@Bestever22688 - I’m not sport medicine expert but I have a few technical degrees. Even if you think of F=m*a. Force = mass times acceleration….it’s basic physics. Let's look at weight and your knees. When you walk across level ground, the force on your knees is the equivalent of 1½ times your body weight. That means a 200-pound man will put 300 pounds of pressure on his knees with each step. The force on each knee is two to three times your body weight when you go up and down stairs, and four to five times your body weight when you squat to tie a shoelace or pick up an item you dropped. If you take into account they are running and jumping it is a tremendous force they are putting on their knees and joints. Which weighs more a 20 lb bag of feather or a 20 lb bag of rocks? The answer is they weigh the same. Your knees see that impact of weight as F = m*a even whether it’s fat or muscle. I will say that fat can probably lead to inflammation so it has its own host of issues. But I think you might be mistaken on this one. Many NBA suffer from sore knees and it’s not just the constant pivots, it’s also the impacts over time as they jump and land. Even if you were a physical specimen but had to play basket ball with a body suit that evenly distributed 50 extra lbs of weight across your body, that weight overtime would probably contribute to additional wear and tear on your body. No?

  • @Epiha

    I disagree on his weight. I want Zion to play forever, a heavy body won't allow him to play many seasons and it's clear his injuries were relate to his weight. He's amazing, he's starting to look hungry and really wants to play. He's not the show he used to be and Wemby is becoming the show stopper who clearly wants to win and is passionate about the game more so than any hype.
    On edit I believe it was fair to lose faith in him and to lose hope after two years of hit and miss, I must admit all my fingers and toes are crossed that he can stay in the league and dominate. He's was so exciting in college and I hope he can return to that weight and fitness and blow up the league.

    Game will slow down for him… and has been. He has high IQ and has been meshing in with the Pels system this year and shown great improvement. He’s an elite finisher yes but he’s also a good and willing passer and team player… His defense has been improving if only slightly as well.
    I do think he should lose 10-20 pounds just to make him less injury prone and increase his speed a little more; back to his duke build for instance.. I think that + working on a 37-38% jumper + being above average on defense would make him mvp caliber as early as next year

    I doubt that Zion Williamson mobilizes the shooters as effectively as a traditional 1 or 2 position would do though. Once Williamson tears open the D, his instinct is to attack the basket for 2 pts, which the style of play costs him immense energy n its proven to be one of the least efficient way to play offense.
    Pelicans really need to sit him down to have talks with him pertaining the kind of players that best suits him in order to make his style of play even work in the league today. Also his durability is still a big question mark,, he will need a lot of rest, or some horrific injury is ready to take him out anytime .
