either way the ps5 and the ps4 models are both great machines made for gaming and none of them should be dubbed “not worth it” because they all do the same thing with small differences

Yeah but if u can afford a PS5 you should just get a Gaming Laptop. A gaming Laptop is way better and games are cheaper on Steam. The PS5 is practically useless if you can easily afford it. Just get a laptop, it's way more customizable. And the PS5 pro is way cheaper than the PS5. Lil' bro, both are powerful consoles, don't try to instill the idea that the PS4 PRO is useless into people's minds

@@zahra4nnn If you want an affordable gaming option, then go for the PS4 slim. If you want to go for 4K gaming, the PS4 PRO is your best bet. But otherwise get a PC or a gaming Laptop, no reason to get a PS5 unless you have a lot of trophies and a lot of games on your PSN account. As I said, a PC is highly customizable so you can change the GPU, RAM, CPU, etc. The PS5 has 16GB of RAM, you can install a 32GB of RAM in your PC. You can have a good GPU for your pc to generate good graphics and images, some GPU's go far beyond than that of a PS5. A CPU is like the brain of your PC, so get a good one. But unless you are stinkily rich, then I recommend a PS4 pro, gaming Laptop or building you own PC Setup with customizable GPU and stuff. Remember, games on Steam are way cheaper than games on the PS Store. But since you're looking for a cheap second-hand option, I highly recommend a ps4 slim, it's still a really good console.

I agree, I am a 47 y/o gamer started gaming early in my life. I like to get the absolutely most out of each generation of consoles. Yeah I own an Xbox Series X and Xbox One X. Yes I prefer to still play my old Xbox 360 Slim Star Wars edition even still till this day in March 2024. 360 Library is still very large and so many great games I never had to time to get to play. I work full time and an Engineer in the Seattle area 60 weeks. yet still find time to play my games somehow.
Now- here with this PS4 Pro. It is such a magnificent wonderful console. I honestly play this more than my PS5. And play my reverse compatible 60GB model OG Fat PS3 console to play PS2 software in glorious 1080i/p.
Point is. enjoy the older consoles while you still can. no need to solely play only on the latest and greatest hardware. HAVE FUN. He’ll, just tonight me and the homies brought out the old original Wii controllers and played Wii games on the WiiU!!
Yeah! still having fun with the WiiU. lots of fun to be had on that failed dinosaur. but we LOVED the WiiU. And I still take my Modded PS Vita to work and remote play GTA 5 from the PS3 Lol. and about 10K emulators on that Vita damn fun handheld doesn’t get the respect it deserves!

why play ps4 games on a Ps4 console if you have a Ps5 console ?
The Ps5 has faster ssd loading times and locks tighter to the game's framerate .

I've played on both and I prefer the PS4's UI, menu, navigation sounds etc... over the latter. It's just so nostalgic.

I haven't played video games for about twelve years. And as far as I'm concerned there are so many great PS4 games and even many of the PS5 games are still playable on this console. I also don't want to pay for a 4K tv and buy an expensive console as I'm busy working and studying at the same time. So I think buying a PS4 pro is a very good choice for me.

I'm quite in the same situation as you plus I really don't like the ps5 gamepad. I'm just wondering if new released games (like for the next 2-3 years) for ps5 will be playable on the ps4 pro, too (or, at least, whether they will be released for ps4, too). But I think for now, not needing 4k graphics but a good performance, a used ps4 pro might be the right choice, and the price seems not to be that high (around 130€ for a used pro with two gamepads)

Ps4 pro 1tb (2tb if you find someone who upgraded it) is around 200 ish dollars. Definitely gonna stick with my ps4 pro until they shut everything down. It might even be the last console I ever get. It'll be retro emulation from here on out if the gaming industry doesn't improve.

Just say you broke... It's only maybe 400 for a Playstation 5.. Sell your ps4 for 100-150 and all you have to do is spend 250 if you don't got that then you should stop gaming

Ive always been fortunate enough to be able to buy new hardware but I completely agree with the guy, I'm sticking with older consoles and won't buy another new one unless something drastic happens in terms of the gaming industry because its currently on it's arse! Deciding not to buy something does not imply that someone is broke.

The only reason I would recommend this console is for PSVR. Because setup is dumb on the PS5. You need to get an adapter for the PS camera which you need to use PSVR on PS5.
I just got a 2019 Pro (7215b) full setup, VR, 2 tb drive and I'm satisfied. It's a PS4.5
Got 50 games with new ones still coming out. Plenty.

to be honest, i would go for the ps4 pro if you only play like story games like assassins creed or red dead , but if you want to play on multiplayer or just want better graphics then go for the ps5 ( also you save more if you buy used, just be careful )

To many new games out now that the ps5 can play and the ps4 can not .
The much faster load ssd load times to Respawn and Fast Travel makes the games much more enjoyable .
I replayed my old ps4 discs of Mass Effect ,Witcher 3 , Jedi Fallen Order, Horizon Zero Dawn with the free 4k/60fps patch and it feels like a remake compared to playing it at 1080p/30fps on my ps4 console .
Its nice to know that most any new AAA game that comes out you can play it if you chose .

I have the 2nd model of the PS4 Pro with the figure 8 power input. I think those are only 5 years old instead of 10 like the origin Pro.

@gr4v_qc487 nah it's the smart thing to do every gen of console and phones has a year where the difference isn't major. The upgrade from ps3 to ps4 pro was def worth it. The upgrade to Xbox 360 to Xbox 1 wasn't worth it until they came out with xbox one X. Same thing goes for iphones not worth to upgrade from an iPhone Xr until the 13 came out or even 14. These companies will rip u off if u let them upgrade when necessary. Ofc anyone can do what they want with their money to each their own it just isn't smart unless u a guy who likes to collect every console

Big facts, still playing my ps4 pro like it's brand new.
Fps is the reason if you play shooters. Also some singleplayer games are not smooth enough on ps4/pro. But yeah ps4 is still a fine console with many great games to play and it doesnt look very outdated. I actually enjoyed few games on ps4 coming from 165hz pc gaming.
I feel the PS4 has a great library of games just like the PS3 did. It’s ironic though from 2020-2021 not be able to find a PS5. Now trying to find a reason to actually buy one. Then rumors of the PS6 for 2028 & a new handheld PS console?

I was an Xbox guy until I got the PS4 Pro! I absolutely love it! There are so many great games, for cheap. Now I have a PS5 and Xbox Series X, but I still play the PS4 Pro on occasion. The PS5 is my favorite though!
I was a 360 guy and wanted to stay in microsoft but ps4 pro obliterated Xbox until they came out with xbox one X than things started getting competitive still playstation is better but I'm waiting until ps6 ps5 isn't worth imo but it looks dope can't lie
I'm bought my ps4 pro from the Facebook marketplace for a steal, 90 dollars and its brand new basically (1tb) there are only a few games on the ps5 that i want to try but not enough to spend over 300 dollars for. Plus I never buy consoles on release year, i always wait at least a few years

PS4 pro with ssd is almost as good with loading times as a PS5. Highly recommend. I have a white version. So awesome.

@@poseidonzoidzenzone4621 It makes loading times very fast. The fat PS4 and the slim version do not support SATA 3 speeds, only SATA 1. The PS4 Pro does support SATA 3 speeds. When you upgrade to an SSD on a PS4 Pro you get way faster loading times than the fat and slim versions. You will not get load times like ps5 because the ps5 has an M2 SSD drive, which has a significantly faster read/write speeds than a regular SSD that the ps4 pro supports.
TLDR: it makes your ps4 pro faster is you install an SSD and it's 100% worth it. I'm suprised sony didn't include one from the very beginning. It would have sold them more units.
Unlike the fat and slim versions, ps4 pro supports sata 3 read/write speeds. It’s not as fast as an M2 ssd drive like a ps5 but it’s night and day compared to the slow 5400rpm drive in the slim and fat versions. Trust me it’s definitely worth it. I did it immediately after purchasing my ps4 pro.

I still play and owned my PS4 Pro console due to financial reasons the same time this economy inflation will not leave no time soon until either they cut the price or they will stop making ps4 games that’s when start transitioning to the PlayStation 5 console.
just got my ps4 pro this week $100 for 16 games 1 remote and wireless headset. Being an Xbox household i didnt want to spend a ton $ on secondary console hooked up to my pc in the bedroom.
Crazy, i haven't upgraded because modern games arent interesting to me and there are still a shit ton of ps4 games i haven't finished. Besides brawlhalla will run like butter on any device.

Honestly sold all of my next gen consoles, every time had a ps5 like 3 times and sold it and Same with the series X, honestly feels like I wasted money, can’t justify spending 500 dollars when I bought a ps4 pro today for only 200$, why go to next gen when I have a perfectly fine console that plays next gen just fine, honestly I just can’t justify it, it seems like next gen isn’t next gen, feels like gaming isn’t the same anymore 😅
Ur not wrong the upgrades aren't as major like the older days. Playstation to ps2 was major ps2 to ps3 was slightly less major but still major ps3 to ps4 pro was very solid ps4 pro to ps5 is just decent nothing special. It's harder to keep upgrading and getting major changes and improvements because we kind caped out on technology. We reach our limit on technological advancemts and until a new discovery is made gaming won't break barriers like before.

a normal one? sure,but at least upgrade it,i watched many tech videos about upgrading consoles,first at least add 1 or 2 tb,make it sure it's clean and has no dust whatsoever,bcs that's why most ps4's overheat or dont work anymore,if you can mod the chip or even the motherboard to make it even better than the original,just do it,if you dont know how,the internet is fulll of passionate people about this stuff and many of them can do it for money,you maybe think now: Ok but why should i do this,is it really worth it?
