I have the K4v2 plastic frame white LED with gateron browns, and I have to say that this is the perfect budget mechanical keyboard. I‘m a Windows user for work and a Mac user for personal use, and I also use this on my iPad. I love that I get to switch between all three profiles no problem and almost instantly. I agree that the typing experience is really good, and I also have almost nothing bad to say about it out of the box, but I am going to switch to PBT XDA profile keycaps because I want a more thocky sound, wider keycaps for my sausage fingers, and more legible letters without having to use the backlight.
Just ordered mine! From all the videos out there you were the one convincing me! I am a radiologist and typing reports all day long killed my wrists! I’m a pretty fast typer (around 140 to 150 wpm) and just decided to mechanicals! Went for the rgb aluminium and hot swappable if one day I decide to mod it! Again! Good job mate!
Amazing! Mods: noico, one layer of foam, 3 layers of tape behind the pcb and noico inside the long keys! Also did the band mod It came very well preluded and the stabilisers were already flat and very steady! Love it! It’s my first so I can’t tell the difference between abs and pbt so I’ll wait for them to release some isoazertt keyset for the k4
I got the K4v2 last week and I love it. I'm a lawyer so I have to do a lot of typing and honestly this keyboard has made me enjoying typing at work so much. I wanted a num pad in a compact keyboard since I have a lot of papers around my desk, but I'm honestly struggling with the 96% layout a bit as well. I end up hitting the 0 key instead of the down arrow a lot but I think there's just a bit of a learning curve since I'm so used 100% and TKL keyboards. If it woke up quicker that would be great but I've gotten used to it already, hopefully I'll quickly get used to the 96% layout as well.
It took me a little while to get used to it but when you do it's fantastic. I am actually typing this reply on the K4v2. I would buy another in a heartbeat if it ever dies.
Great video, I ordered mine and am waiting for it to arrive! Can I ask, when using it for gaming, is there much lag using it through bluetooth or would you sugest plugging it in via the cable?
No if there is lag you can hardly notice it, it definitely looks like it’s wired. I use it for over watch 2 and it’s just fine. If you have old Bluetooth and you are using 2.4G Wi-Fi, remember switching to 5G if you want max download speed. I’ve been using it for almost 2 years now and no issues at all.
I am getting ready to buy a Keychron K4v2 and I just bought the MX3 mouse. The MX3 is amazing and I hope this keyboard is too. Thanks for the vid. Earned a sub.
I never understood why people would spend money on a KB until I got one. I've never had a keyboard that makes me want to type so much. I got the Gateron browns
I have pretty large hands and long fingers so I may not be the best person to ask. I don't use a palm rest and I type on it for 8-10 hours per day 5 days per week with no discomfort at all.
I plan to buy one but currently confused between keychron and mx keys, usage is normal office work. I want to try mechanical keyboard but mx keys funtionality along with master 3 mouse is quite good to overlook.
I can't really comment fully as I haven't tried the plastic version but I can tell it's quite heavy due to the metal frame which gives it a really premium feel. I imagine this also helps with sound dampening to a degree too. Personally I would only buy the aluminium version again after seeing how amazing this one is.

Sounds great. I haven't started really looking into customising yet but I sure as hell do want another one. I love them so much!

One month later, how is it? Happy with your purchase? I released a video of me modding mine too just FYI.

That's my ultimate combo right there! And welcome to the family glad to have you here.
@@TheGeekZone Appreciate it!
i think the blue ones are the really clicky ones ... and reds are the linear ones.
Yeah you are correct.
I never understood why people would spend money on a KB until I got one. I've never had a keyboard that makes me want to type so much. I got the Gateron browns
Yes something I can’t explain to people until they try it.
Do you think the plastic frame will have a not as good typing experience, or purely durability and aesthetics?
I use on Linux and totally fine. Only need to tweak a little bit since it would be recognized as MAC for the FN part.
Nice
I heard K4 is very high. Do u need palm rest to type comfortably?

the main drawback is the 0 key, not large enough.
You do get used to that. Like anything you adapt and muscle memory takes over etc.
I plan to buy one but currently confused between keychron and mx keys, usage is normal office work.
I want to try mechanical keyboard but mx keys funtionality along with master 3 mouse is quite good to overlook.
Can you use it on linux? (Edit: I bought it and it works)
Hi mate is this keyboard also good for gaming?
Is aluminum frame worth the extra money?

I saw a vid that showed a way to keep Bluetooth on always
That's interesting. I will have to find it.
Where did you buy this kb for $115 shipped??
I just ordered one from mwave. $122 shipped to sydney. Stoked!
I had a coupon. But yeah they aren't normally that price.
Fn+PgUp = PrtScr I believe
Will have to try it out.
👍
Number 1 supporter.
I take mine to work ..has anyone come across a decent budget friendly case for this, or something to use as a case?
If anyone has an answer let me know. I’ve been looking for the same thing.
@@TheGeekZone I’m sure this is way too late but if you just look up ‘Keychron K4 carrying case’ you’ll find a perfect one as the first result :)
