But I do think if they keep stacking the defence with Ginbey, Hunt, Hough, Duggan, Baker into 3 spots then players will be forced out. Noah Long is already a better footballer than Owies let alone he's also a possible future captain and we're rebuilding. People always assume recruits are stars...carlton have two coleman medalists and still don't score much. Owies was part of a highly dysfunctional forward line. They were gonna sack him
Disagree. He is quality. I reckon they missed a trick moving him as a defensive forward or mid later in the season. You know the guy will tackle and give 100%. It also sends a message to the glamorous forwards and front running mids that don't man up and give defensive pressure. They see Cole playing there, when they (Brockman and co) are playing reserves. It can have a sobering up reaction. A guy is getting a game in their place and actually tackling. And Mini can back that up and say thats what he's actually after. I reckon it can make a big difference if a guy. is being replaced by someone (Cole/Baker/Graham) who is clearly doing what the coaches want.
@BDub2024 doesn't matter, he doesn't get enough of the ball to he effective, watching a different game to me, watch how many goals get kicked on him, tackling doesn't mean shit if your player is kicking goals on you
@@brettgleadell3576 i reckon he's an important player, but look spots will be limited with Ginbey and Baker down back. Especially if they're also wanting to expose another kid or two. I think criticising defenders isn't exactly fair when the mids and small forwards are giving no pressure at all. I'd be giving the games to the guys that are wanting to create pressure and let the guys that are slack learn a hard lesson which is a season in the reserves. Cole didn't really benefit from Simmo only playing him in one role, which was one of Simmo's flaws in pigeon holing players too much.
@@brettgleadell3576 if he is to survive in the list he needs to prove versatility. In recent years he has been an important role player. Schofield missed a trick last year not playing him across half forward when it was bleeding obvious in some games that guys like Brockman Jones Ryan Petch didn't want to chase and tackle and play "team defence". Put those guys back to reserves immediately. Play Cole and similar types in their positions and then tell the slackers that if they don't do the same, then they won't be getting a game. Can be quite a powerful motivator, Especially when their replacement is so obviously is and is getting rewarded. The other trick missed was not putting Hough on a wing for the last 5 matches or so. The season was gone, hough played great as a shut down defender and got good experience. It was a chance to grow another young shut down player and at same time give Hough more time on the wing to show if he had what it takes. I suggest he does.
@BDub2024 I agree he needs some time as a full time ruck, but I don't see how that happens at West coast when Williams and Flynn probably can't play in the afl team together like Jesse says, so one of them takes the wafl spot, and there are other young guys who also can play ruck. so it wouldn't surprise me at all if in a year or two Barnett hasn't really had a proper go and the crows go for him. we were heavily linked during his draft year and he is clearly talented.

Backer is getting 3 apprently
Trade oscar/ let Oscar go to free agency.. Will get some decent picks for him
I agree, just too many forwards right now.
Gee our team is poo on paper
Matt Flynn is in the 22
if he gets his body right.
I agree
hopefully. But that means Barnet will ruck in the ressies (which he should), and A Reid Livingstone and B Williams are playing in the forward line. Which ensures that Shanahan will be in defence with Jamieson and Bazzo. Truly our midfield at WAFL is atrocious
@@BDub2024 yep, land of the giants. Shanahan learning down back will work out I think. I agree our midfield last year was awful, then take out trew, culley….replaced by chesser, hall, gross and Davis. Oh boy!!
@@deanbeissel2807 Remember Nelson and that other guy from Collingwood has left to East Freo.
Bailey Williams and Tom Cole shouldn’t be in this team at all
Who else will ruck though
@@jogon9649Flynn
Cole does alot of work that you don't see . Williams despite his best efforts isn't a ruckman probably a good WAFL player.
Tom Cole is a very important defensive pressure. I would definitely have him in. But I do think if they keep stacking the defence with Ginbey, Hunt, Hough, Duggan, Baker into 3 spots then players will be forced out. I reckon our midfield is too weak and they'll need to have Baker and Duggan in there.
Noah Long is already a better footballer than Owies let alone he's also a possible future captain and we're rebuilding. People always assume recruits are stars...carlton have two coleman medalists and still don't score much. Owies was part of a highly dysfunctional forward line. They were gonna sack him
Baker got 3
I think you should add Jobe Shanahan as sub not Bo Allen
Jobe needs a year or two at WAFL playing in defence. Allen needs time to develop midfield craft at WAFL. What's the rush with any of those guys.
Bo Allan in the 13
Noah long was given 13
@user-cp4os6ws1t dam I forgot lol well I like Allan at 23
Never been Tom Cole. fan.....not a lock down or running defender and gets a lot of goals kicked on him
@BDub2024 definitely our best young player at the moment (hough)
bruh if Barnett is playing key back he'll definitely leave
Where, i don't think anyone would want him. He had like 4 waffle games with 1 kick. if I was him, I would play in any position to improve.
@therealHarleyReid crows need a young ruck, it'd actually help his performance if he was played in position
Barnett has another 2 years. He spent a lot of the year forward pocket. a bit of an inconsistent year. He needs 12 months rucking full time.
@@anappropriatehandle BWilliams needs to play as a forward or defender at WAFL. Or alternatively they need to loan him to another WAFL team. I think Livingstone is taking up valuable time, but he seems to have more intensity and is getting rewarded.
Long for Cripps
