As a 55 year old that has played Atari since the beginning, this is almost more than my mind can process. If it plays as expected, this is a grand slam of a device. Thank la for sharing Jon, I looks forward to your CES coverage.
Same here, my friend. I am 53 and grew up with the Atari (all versions) the Bally console, Colecovision, Intellivison, and Commodore 64. Then, on to the consoles that are more mainstream like Nintendo and Sega. I feel blessed to have been here since the beginning of home consoles. I love playing the old school consoles as much as I love playing the PS5 and Xbox Series X. I love that Atari and Nintendo are still here and prevalent today, like they were back when we were children. I only wish Sega would come back with a new console. I am also looking forward to CES to see what this handheld can do.
Trackball? Numpad?? Credit??? Shoulder buttons???? Holy hell this handheld is trying to be the most versatile retro gaming handheld available to humankind. And with HDMI out, it's looking like a fully fledged retro gaming "Switch". My goodness.
Let me qualify my hyperbolic statement: the most versatile retro gaming handheld available to humankind...that isn't highly questionable in its legality. 😅
It looks like it's designed to play both arcade games and Atari's console back catalog. I would not be surprised if there was an attempt to have it run compatible multiplatform games.
As a 62-year-old, who was 15 when xmas-gifted his 2600 the first year of its release back in 1977 (one of the first 2600's originally made in Sunnyvale Ca, including its original near mint box and all of its cardboard inserts, I know, nerd ;), this Atari product has me totally freaking out with excitement! Oh, and your channel totally rocks! 😁 P.S. an actual flippin' trackball?! Woohoo!!
It looks like the versatility this unit is headed towards will be amazing. I hope it turns out to be even more awesome than the preliminary views look. Thanks for this sneak peek. I was more than mildly interested in it last year when the news of its existence first broke. But, now, I am seriously watching this device and anxious to hear more from you next week about it.
Let’s Hope Atari Gamestation Go can play LYNX , Jaguar games and a emulator for Intellivision / Colecovision ( hidden in the software ) . Pass the word to My Arcade , please pretty Jon
Very interesting. The number pad has me thinking it's going to include 5200 and Janguar games. Possibly even Intellivision games since Atari acquired the brand.
This looks AWESOME!! The GameStation Go has been the *Number One* item on my wishlist since you first told us about it last year, and it appears even better than I anticipated. The illuminated buttons and keypad are so freakin’ cool!
I’m sold. If MA were to invest in external controllers such as spinners/paddles, trackballs, controllers, etc. to go along with this, that would be amazing. Future proofing it the way they have, shows the possibility. Thanks, as always!
This is pretty awesome. This was the main handheld that I was looking forward to, back in 2024. Nice to see My Arcade making some adjustments to it, behind the scenes.
This could be the killer device for MyArcade even if it has only half of the features I'm hoping for! I'm going to say it's only going to be Atari by the color scheme but the micro SD slot provide almost unlimited gameplay options. Really looking forward to CES
Finally Can’t wait till it comes out in 2025 A guaranteed purchase Great for on the go and playing at work at lunch and during breaks Thanks Jon for the Update!!!!
This went from „okay, neat“ to „Okay, bring it on, my arcade!“. Could be a great emulation device for all things retro with all these controls, if done right … :-)

This is the handheld machine i'm willing to buy over tons of generic emulation handhelds. I'm tired of generic gamepad layout and want that trackball and spinner to play millipede and missile command anywhere.
Yep, gonna need to get this one. With the breadth of controller options available, I really hope they'll give that thing access to an online storefront. I'd love to play the Recharged games, Neo Sprint, Yars Rising and whatever other retro content Atari acquires in the future without having to shell out for a new handheld.

When i was young i had the coleco vision with the 2600 adapter, it was like having the best of both worlds 👍👊
WOW. I would say it has all the features to be the number one in retro gaming handheld.
I just hope they don't abandon the glorious GSP, updated controllers with a trackball and keypad would be needed
I wouldn't hold out hope for trackball or keypad on the original GSP, but they are still looking at how to improve it.
@@GenXGrownUp Ok I understand. The solution is: buy the new GSG, with all features I want and move my SD into this 🤣🤣
Hope it has jaguar support
Also it needs to change its name to Atari Go.
👌
I love the lighted buttons. This thing is beautiful. Is this meant for retro games, modern games, or both?
Remains to be seen.
I can't wait to see this thing!
This thing is STACKED! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
🔥
That's what I'm talkin about! Thanks Jon!
If it includes the latest Atari 50 Anniversary Celebration game with interactive timeline, original and remake games then I'm definitely picking it up. Of course, if they released Atari 50 AC on android and ios I'd buy both versions as well; I freakin love love that game.
This looks great! I wonder if we will be able to download purchased games? Im excited for this.
Number pad means potentially the Jaguar?
Spinner control and Jaguar = Tempest 2k ???
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Number pad for Jaguar, I hope!
Hopefully this can play Lynx games.
Looks incredible! Has there been any word about the new controllers for the Gamestation Pro, with the 3 buttons all on the base?
There are some new controllers coming.
Go Get Em Jon! I am very interested in this! Can't. Also I l9ve your shirts! I have that Missle Command shirt too.
