Was Hoping to See my Grandfather in one of these! His first race out there was in 1957! And he raced for over 50 years there!

Raced at autocity from 2000 to 06. factory stock.loved it.i just can't explain the excitement of going to race track. I only one i only one a few racees but i tell those stories to anyone who will listen. I just recently went and watched a race at Dixie brought back so many memories. Thank you for putting this video up.i asked a ton of people out there if any one had old footage of autocity ( when it was dirt) but Never found any.

Glad you liked it .... I grew up at Auto City, the owner lived right across the street from us and my Mom and Dad worked at the track every weekend for years. The best part of a Saturday night was opening the car door and smelling the race track.....I loved every minute of it.

Gary ,Benny Parsons did in fact drive the #98 and I believe you are correct on Smoky Yunick, my father got to meet him in the pits, I was to young to get a pit pass! If I remember right Iggy Katona #30 won that night, and Bill Bilby wreaked the #22 Chevelle trying to qualify for the ARCA race. Look close at the front fender (Bills Speed Shop Flint, Mi. My father worked on Mels car and I also spent every weekend at Auto City. I'm Jeff Geiserts' brother-n-law and now spend every weekend at Owosso Speedway with the "Area 51 Motorsports" Grand Prix owned by Jeff & Vicky!!! It's in our blood :)

Gary thanks for sharing!!! Brings back awesome memories. Chad Fleming, did your father drive the # 411 '57 Chevy? It was owned by Carl & Darryl Hayes and later driven by Mel Householder. If you look close in the video the white w/black top '57 Chevy # 69 is the same car repainted after Mel started driving it full time. There is also a pic of it without any numbers or lettering...didn't have time to letter it before the race!

Hi Gerald.... The only Riviera I remember racing there was a 1964 painted yellow.....it's in the video but its hard to tell what it is because the front fender and passenger door have been ripped off.

Gary, check out our facebook page, Area 51 Motorsports. I do remember that '67 Camaro pace car because my dad had a '67 Camaro SS!!! Good old days! Oh yeah, Jeff still cuts his hair once every two years....lol
