    Today, we are going to install the best Integrated Bidet toilet money could possibly buy. We're installing the Toto Neorest NX2. Now, this same installation process will work for the Toto Neorest NX1, as well and we're going to walk through all the steps. Now, my name is Daniel Johnson, I'm your Bidet expert and I'm the owner of ManyBidets.com, where over the past eight years, we've sold over ten thousand bidets.
    If you're interested in buying one of these particular units, or any of the units that Toto, or a variety of other brands carry, reach out to us. We're happy to offer special pricing and get you a great deal on your new Bidet toilet, or Bidet seat.
    These bolts come with your flange, so you should already have them. Toto does not supply them. We're using a “Better than wax” seal, but you can also use a wax ring, or a silicone seal, depending on your preference. Toto says silicone in the manual. We're going to need a manual screwdriver, a drill with a drill bit and a screwdriver bit, a wrench and a little bit of plumber's tape, everything else comes with the unit. The first thing we have to do when installing the Toto Neorest NX1, or NX2 is determine where the mounting brackets need to be installed. To do that, we're going to use a template. This is the template that Toto provides, with their unit, you would just want to get it centered. There is wording back here, “back wall side”. Make sure that when you're putting it on the back wall, the side indicator is pointing towards the wall, not towards the main bathroom and then line it up. You'll have a little perforated piece that you'll need to rip out, but then line it up, so that the flange is basically in the middle of that template. Once you've got it lined up as best as possible, take a little tape to hold it in place. We're using painters tape, because it's easy to take off and all we really need is a little something to help hold it in place. It's not something that we're going to need any real strong adhesive on, so there we go. Now that we have the mounting plate in place, we can see that there are screw holes here, here, here and here. We're going to go ahead and screw those out real quick. With those screwed out, now, we can go ahead and take the template off. Now, we're going to go ahead and install the flange adapter. Remember, these bolts come with the flange, so that's not included. We're going to slide it over, we want to make sure that this manual flush cable is pointing backwards, otherwise we know we have this flange adapter on backwards. Also, these little bolt impressions are not used, so don't let that throw you for a loop. If you're using a silicone sealant, you want to make sure that you're connecting that sealant to the bottom side of the flange adapter. If the flange is metal. If the flange is plastic, you want to connect the sealant to the flange adapter, to the flange itself and then put the flange adapter over top.

    Thanks for the great video, this was super helpful! I had two questions: (1) From what I could see in the video, it seems that you did not trim the flange bolts - is there anything under the toilet that this could interfere with, or is there sufficient clearance? (2) Is it normal for the plastic seat to make a “creaking” sound when leaning on it? Many thanks again!

      Thanks for the great questions!
      1) there's a lot of space under the toilet, so there should be no reason to need to trim the flange bolts.
      2) Can you define; "leaning on it"? I've not noticed any creaking, but I really only ever sit on the unit. Are you leaning back on the lid when seated? If so, I could see that leading to creaking noises. The lids on the Neorest line are not designed to be leaned back on.

    So it looks like you used a Fluidmaster Better Than Wax silicone gasket and you said that Toto also recommends a silicone gasket. What confused me is that you mentioned applying silicone sealant to the flange adapter or to the silicone seal itself. I was a bit confused by this as I went and looked at other videos for the Fluidmaster Better Than Wax seal and there was no mention of using any additional sealant when applying one either between the seal and the rough-in flange or between the seal and the toilet. You also mentioned that how you apply the silicone sealant differs on whether or not your rough-in flange is made from plastic or metal. Can you go into more details here because I was surprised by this information as I didn't see any similar or related instruction involving silicone sealant and the Fluidmaster Better Than Was gasket?
    One thing worth mentioning for other viewers about that kit is that it comes with additional spacers in case the rough-in flange is flush with or below the tile instead of sitting on top of the tile like in your video. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks the the comment! In the video, I say there are three options. You should only use ONE of the three:
      1. Fluidmaster Better Than Wax seal
      2. Wax ring
      3. Silicone seal
      We're not recommending mixing better than wax with silicone, which is why you're not seeing any Fluidmaster reference to silicone. We're using Better Than Wax, but TOTO suggests silicone. You'd use one or the other, not both. The Better than wax seal looks like this: i.imgur.com/pAyA3hv.png The flange adaptor (which comes with the TOTO toilet when purchased from Many Bidets) looks like this: i.imgur.com/aNjHeaI.png They are not the same piece. So when we say that we're using Better than wax, but TOTO suggests using silicone with their flange adaptor, we are not saying to use silicone with better than wax. If you use silicone rather than options one (Fluidmaster) or two (Wax Ring) above, TOTO does have recommendations as to what to connect the silicone to. Review their manual for all the details: www.totousa.com/filemanager_uploads/product_assets/InstallationManual/0GU9213_MS900CUMFG_MS901CUMFX_IM.pdf

    For the water inlet do I need to have anything installed in my restroom that does not have a hole in the wall like your video 3:41 I have a pipe coming out of the floor near the rear of the toilet that is where the water hose is connected and how long is the power cord plug?

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  11 месяцев назад

      The power cord is 4 feet long. Wall or floor is fine. Our install looks a little different than your normal install simply because it's on a movable install platform for the sake of getting the shots we wanted. As long as the water supply is within the space shared in TOTO's spec sheet, you're good to go.

    So I installed mine (same unit) and the water has been all hooked up, when plugged in it comes out but no misting occurs and the toilet does not respond to the remote. I made sure to have the infrared triggered and all but no luck. The power and water is to it but nothing happens. The manual flush doesn’t work either

    How long would you estimate it takes to install the NX models in a real world environment assuming tile or other hard surfaces to drill through?

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  Год назад

      We installed it in our actual bathroom, and had to drill through tile, and it was a breeze. You'll want to make sure you have a bit that is designed for tile, and I recommend putting down some painters tape and drilling THROUGH the tape, so the bit does not slide on the tile, but other than that, the process is exactly the same. We did it in under two hours. If you decide to get one, reach out to us!

      @@ManyBidets Thanks for the quick reply. I've installed a few of the NX models and a few of the 700 models in our area. Just wondering what others installation times are.

    I think we don’t have NX2 here. Is the NX1 a big downgrade?

    • @ManyBidets
      @ManyBidets  11 месяцев назад

      The NX2 is really nice, and the new one (which we'll have in a month or so) will have 4 user presets, and wash the underside of the seat too. We stock the NX2, so if you're looking for it, let us know and we can get you one!
