- I played The Sims 2 Open For Business in 2022. This is a Sims 2 gameplay let's play where I reviewed and explored The Sims 2 gameplay in 2022 for the Open For Business Pack!
This Sims 2 pack was literally hilarious!!! Which old Sims game should I play next?

The sims 2 was truly ahead of its time, the animations, the gameplay, the packs ugh I wish the next sims get the same emotion as sims 2

I learned both British and American English so it can get quite confusing (as I use both words) but escalator is the same in both languages
The Y2K thing, yes, absolutely. Sometimes I look at the aesthetic pics online and I'm like "aww it was pretty nice" but then I remember the crust and I'm glad it's not the early 2000's lol
Oh and yes, the sims 4 pales in comparison to the earlier games. remember when you had 2 sims and if they were in a relationship and sleeping together, they'd cuddle in bed? Yeah....
They'd pull the pillow over so they could snuggle up.

Legit this pack and Night Life was all I needed in the Sims 2. With what little money I had when it came out (broke college kid), Sims 2 was money well spent. So fun and I still play it and I'm almost 40. 🤣
I played first at 16yo. It was my first sim. Now at 33yo I'm back at it again after trying sims 4. I loved it but it felt as deep as a puddle, so I'm back at sims 2 now :D it's funny cause at 16 sims game felt too monotonous and repetitive for my taste and now I love it so much kinda because of that, and I'm glad I understand now y'all simmers that see so much fun and depth to it. I hope I am still going strong like you when I hit 40!

I like this pack too, it's challenging but it is so rewarding!
You can even have a car dealership! Intensely looks over at sims 4 which lacks both a legit retail system and especially cars...

I've been playing TS2 non-stop lately? It works fine even on Windows 11 - the only thing you 'need' is a mod to make the game fit modern screen resolutions (1920x1080). But I use lots of mods to make most everything look better - textures, roads, skins for sims, eyes, hairs, etc. You can really make the whole game more modern looking, if not as good looking as a truly modern game...but TS2 is absolutely playable right off the bat. Just do some googling for mods to get the stuff you need to make it look good on a modern computer screen's resolution.

There's also a simple mod by Zero I use called "Plan outfit costs money" if I want my sim to have a new outfit I make sure I use that to pay for it.

The cross pack potential with OFB is insane. With the base game, and some other packs installed, you could run an art gallery, a bowling alley, an arcade, a museum, restaurant, a cafe, a bar, a grocer and even a spa. I really wanted to run a spa once I found out you could charge for massages, but my ancient computer died before I could. Its such a chore to get TS2 to work that I've since been playing TS4 and omg, I miss TS2 so much, TS4 is so bad.
OFB is incredible. It's like a whole other game on top of the life simulation.
If you want, check out acottonsock and her video called "Ultimate Sims 2 Fix Guide 2023". It's very helpful and she explains everything extremely well. It could definitely help you with getting The Sims 2 to work.

@@DiscoTimelordASD good for you! I've just stopped playing ts4, I think it sucks. I gave it a fair shake, and it really isn't a good game. Right now I think I'm just gonna leave behind the Sims, and wait for other life sims to come out and try those.

This was literally my ALL TIME fav sims game EVER. SO many good memories. I still have a bunch of my sims 2 stuff but cant get it to be playable (the game has black blobs all over) sigh.

@@maiakrumsieg6415 it's a type of download program, you can use it to download anything (not legal ofc) on RUclips there are tutorials on how to install the Sims nowadays
Edited to add: if you don't know what torrent is watch a video on the basics. It's a very good download method but you gotta be careful or you're gonna download 100 viruses. Anyways the tutorials are super detailed, so watch one. I'm enjoying playing with The Sims 2 so much!
I keep setting the prices to "average" but everytime I click on the cash registers of the different shops it says "ridiculously cheap"... Why does this happen? Also, if I put a ticket machine on the entrance will they get all the other products in the mall for free basically?
The more recognition your shop has, the higher price it can charge. People will be willing to pay more for your products you know. And the ticket machine charges for “parking”.

I was 20 during y2k and it was nothing. And it really feels like the "aesthetics" are the same as now. I want someone to explain to me what the difference between then and now is.

They have the sims 2 ultimate collection on orgin and the apple store if you have a mac.
No autonomous mods saved the game. The autonomy was so bad. Forget which one it was. When they added a weather pack they go Sims would start mopping the rain.
Dine out in the sims 4 is just as bad. it barely works. Same thing with running your own business in Sims 4 almost impossible to make it work.

You know how it's annoying to tell people their personality and way of speaking are annoying? Yeah...if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.
LittleMsSam has a mod called "Offer Appeareance Styling & earn Money (Get Famous)" for the chair in Get Famous for 4 which is basically this btw
For me the easier the game - the better. But shopping for clothes and books and presents by visiting shops was so cool. I don’t even like shopping for clothes myself but loved doing it in Sims.
I guess with DLC you can buy food. But it’s not that interesting for me.
