"Stranger in Paradise" is a popular song from the musical Kismet (1953), and is credited to Robert Wright and George Forrest. Like almost all the music in that show, the melody was taken from music composed by Alexander Borodin (1833-1887), in this case, the "Gliding Dance of the Maidens", from the Polovtsian Dances in the opera Prince Igor (1890). The song in the musical is a lovers' duet and describes the transcendent feelings that love brings to their surroundings.[1] Later versions were mostly edited to be sung by male solo artists.

Смешно, но был исполнен именно оригинальный отрывок из оперы Бородина, а не из Кисмет или других адаптаций Чужака в раю! В мюзикле хоть и использовалась музыка из оперы, но она была немного изменённой (с другой оркестровкой), что позволяет легко отличить её от оригинала. Видимо в западном массовом сознании эта мелодия уже прочно ассоциируется только с песней из мюзикла, а не c оперой, что довольно печально, ведь классика всё-таки!

Так же в оригинальной опере иронично был ровно противоположный смысл: Похищенные девушки пели о своем родном крае, куда они вернутся лишь когда умрут( Улетят на крыльях ветра...).

Alien in Paradise is not just the title of the song. For me it's like I felt in Paradise. I would be the Alien, Alien. Paradise isn't for everyone and I know that. Maybe it's better that you are prepared. The music itself is important to some because of the composer, country, opera and title, and performance. It's overall music that I love. What a beautiful song!! It was played by Andre, with so much feelings! It is to dream! It was also one of the songs interpreted in the concert at Cortana, Italy. For me one of the best concerts that He and his orchestra had done. Even that all of them are magnificent. Bravo Andre!!!
