Thanks!! I have autism & tourettes & it sucks - though as I age I've gotten better at taking tic breaks outta sight. Also I did a lot of tic transference - to find a way to change my tic to something similar in its relief, but less socially disruptive. It took years, but it can be done. Xoxo love to you & all - stay safe & healthy.

How i like to describe my tics:
Think of a mosquito bite. It will itch you and so you will feel the urge to scratch it. You can suppress it for a little time, but not long.
I feel the urge to tic, i can suppress it for a short time. But i have to tic,

Good to have you back here 🙂 I think your advice on dealing with tics is really good. Just accepting them and not getting extra stressed because of them.
P.S. you get my name quite right 👍

When I feel a chill or get excited, I have this electric urge to twitch my fingers to vent the sudden energy. For whatever reason, the urge only comes about when I am alone. It feels almost euphoric to satisfy the urge.

This video was very reassuring and informative. I recently came to realization about autism and how much I relate with so many autistic traits, tics have been happening and I feel like I couldn’t explain why or there wasn’t a good reason. Gonna show my girlfriend this so she can understand what I’m going through. (:

I am autistic (as are two of my cousins and potentially an uncle) and I have two family members with TS (my cousin (not one of the ones with autism) inherited it from my aunt, it has a strong genetic link). The way they describe it is it's like a sneeze, you can technically hold it back but it's really difficult. There is a high rate of neurodevelopmental disorders in my family (intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, ASD and TS as aforementioned) and it seems like there's a high comorbidity rate between the neurodevelopmental disorders.

My eldest son has up and downs of anxiety and depression and he was diagnosed with bipolar and PTSD when he was a teenager. He probably had it since he was younger but wasn't diagnosed with it after many years later. My younger son has tourettes and autism, he also gets anxiety and he was first diagnosed with OCD.

Thanks for this vid. I have self diagnosed asd and actively seeking an official diagnoses, I have tensed my whole body when excited my whole life and learning if this is a tic and trying to change it is hard. Im trying recognize the body tense and covert it into a closed tight fist and shaking them really hard. I cant tell if it made me tic more or if I see how much I really do it.
