    What app or website you use to make this tank and the filling design

    Good video. I’ve wanted to do this for some time but haven’t pulled the trigger on the fmm etc

    Thank you for the video. I recently purchased an RO system and have been thinking about having it automatically top up my top up resevoir. A couple of questions for you, is OK to keep mains pressure on the RODI system all the time, where is the best place for the solenoid before or after the RO system?

      Hi Jules. Solenoid has to be after Ro as most are not designed to take main pressure. Haven’t seen any issues with keeping main pressure on the rodi input side. Good luck with your system

      Nice idea! I did similar automation using a smart switch that is scheduled to power on and off at a fixed interval twice a week with a float valve in my reservoir as a redundancy to prevent a overfill.

      Nope! Coralline grows really well in my system for some reason

    Nice setup. What overall intensity are you running on your AB+ schedule on the G5s?

    Can this procedure be implemented in the daily basis water change ( 1/5th of the total volume of 150 gallon capacity of tank ) schedule of a discus tank? The Tds level of my tap water is very high ( borewell ) so RO is mandatory. DI is optional. I need to do perform Siphoning on daily basis in my discus tank to remove detritus and other matters like uneaten foods and fish poop and change 1/5th of the total volume ( water) of the tank capacity to maintain pristine water quality. Too much labour in this water change schedule manually on daily basis. So is this AUTOMATED procedure..can be implemented to do the work?.

    This only works if your Apex is close to your RODI unit?

    • @TheBioReef
      @TheBioReef  2 года назад

      nope. you can get really long aquabus cables so you fmm module can be far away from the apex unit. You'll need a dedicated power adapter for the FMM module to power the solenoid valve. My tank is upstairs and my RODI system is approxiamtley 15 to 16ft away

      Here is another tip:
      I’ve got a house on pier and beam (3ft crawl space under the house) and I have my Rodi top off and salt tanks 75ft away in my garage. I used outdoor rated solid copper CAT6 23 AWG internet cable (8 strands) and it works perfectly. I was pretty shocked how far your can run both low voltage power for ATK pump and apex aquabus signal. Has been working perfectly for 2 years.
      I was able to use 2 strands for my apex ATO pump and 5 strands to run an apex aquabus extension. This all works for perfectly both the top off pump, and to send signal from main apex to my DOS in garage for continuous water changes.
      Also put in a half inch fill line and line out to drain for larger water changes.
      No more buckets for water changes:)

    Nice touch ....gotta quit messing around with my RO system....I have an entire fish room in my basement and I still slide garbage cans of water around....
