Thanks for taking us along on this ride today Dave. Ranchers work is never done but lot's of fun when it comes together as you planned. Looks good, and things are still able to thaw out for a while. Stay safe and keep up the fun around there. Fred.
Another Pro-ject well done Dave, we are about to get our 1st snow on Thanksgiving (tomorrow) But had everything prep'ed for it for past few weeks so I'm ready! got to get here sooner or later. (I'd settle for later and then early spring.! Must be gettin old! Thanks for sharing ! ECF
Dave, I spent last weekend in Death Valley, and on my way home I stopped by Harmony Borax Works to see the 20 mule team wagons in person. They have weathered excellently, and are looking really old. They fit right in with the rest of the interpretive center.
I have followed this channel since the borax wagons , and you sir , are the most industrious person i have ever seen. I'm almost certain that the missus makes you a hearty breakfast. Lol , thanks to both of you.
My kids had charlaois 4H cows. We had to make the catch pen 6' tall and made from 2" upset tubing. those farm store gates were just a hurdle that they jumped on, bent them down to walk across height. We had a 18' wide 8' across cattle guard made out of 4 & 7/8 drill stem. One young bull learned that he could jump 8' and get out in the crops. One of the kids would go put a rope on the halter we kept on him and lead him back behind the Honda big red and through the wide walk through door on the barn. He sure was graceful when he jumped that cattle guard. We kept getting calls that we had big Charlaois cows out. I had an Oil Well power unit repair near home and when I ducked in to refill my jug with tea, I saw one of those cows being harrassed by one of the horses so it simply jumped over a standard cattle fence and of course, 2 or 5 would decide to jump the fence. The horses left that week.
Red calf going to freezer camp? Well done as always. I'm glad you didn't hit your cold hands with the hammer. It always hurts worse when your hands are cold.
*- Bubbling water never freezes. That is how hydro dams keep their spillways free of ice at minus 36 below zero.* *- A solar cells running a fish tank bubbler will keep your water tub free of ice.*
We had 3 inches of snow at 26F here last friday in Holland, and no longer used to that, a large part of the country ended up in a complete standstill. And on sunday a record braking 60F again...
I have witessed the strength of these boys. We were dehorning some younger steers. We had one agitated one where we tried to chain him to a post. we didnt have a nose ring and he just pulled a big post straight out of the ground. I hope he doesnt lean on your panels or gate too much!
I know nothing about cold weather... why do you throw the ice out of the trough? Sending lots of love 💕 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷
I’m a city boy so forgive what may sound like like stupid questions. How are you handling your cattle? I’m assuming that since you are building loading facilities, the cattle are going somewhere. Are they going to a local butcher who will slaughter, process & package the meat? Will they also provide freezer accommodations, or will you pick up the lot & freeze it yourself.
Dave could you not run an underground hose from the 1000 gallon tank to the smaller tank and add a ball cock so you only have to refill the big tank every so often i know its not ideal for winter
Good video. But... What happened to the 12,000 or so gallon tank in the big insulated building with heater tape on the outflow pipe and a hydrant down by the cows? This hauling water from home seems like a step backwards. Just sayin'.

Eso parece ser nieve con suerte en este lugar en Dicciembre una nevada o dos de 5 centimetros de capa, que tempos aquellos que nevadas de verdad dos veces de 30+ centimetros y de 20+ centimetros.
Projects are always good when they match your picture in your head
Brings back memories of moving our cattle and battling fences.

Brrrr, don't miss that cold... Awesome solution to the corral conundrum.

Once again thanks for the video.

Cordless tools make projects like that so much easier.
Thanks for the update 👏👍👌❤️
Thank you
Great job. Thank you 😊
Awesome
I had to put on a jacket just to watch your cold video 😂
😊
Thank you again Dave......
Old F-4 Shoe🇺🇸
Great video , marvellous day . 👍🏴
Thanks for posting Dave
Always interesting.
Big tools save a lot of time, I'd still be waiting on my bandsaw.
Never ending chores. God Bless You and Mrs. Engels.
Great Job Dave.
Nice job, Dave!

Good fresh cut on that post. That's why we have chainsaws. Appreciate you
first blast & made it here again yay.
Howdy, Dave! Stay warm!
You have a beautiful ranch
I can relate to cold weather and cattle water. We used to cut ice on ponds. Happy Thanksgiving Dave and Diane
Same to you.
Happy Tuesday 😀

Excellent . Thank you
Nice view of the sunny blue sky. Gate assembly looks like it will do the job!
Thanks Guys

Dave,
Happy Thankgiving to both of you!
Same to you.
Everything is a hammer! I approve.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family🤗😎🤗😎
Same to you.
In Australia, we have precisely the opposite problems with H2O.
Often, artesian bore water is boiling.
Happy Thanksgiving from Minnesota! 🎉
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 to you, your family, friends and subscribers 🦃🥂
Happy Tuesday Dave and Diane!!

Thanks to you Mr. and Ms. Engel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rare to see so many gates and no Binder Twine!
HW and Powder River panels will get the job done every time. ^~^ but it may be time to put the battery minder on old faithful. 0~o
I'm feeling cold just watching. Looks to be a great idea especially for a cows first time being herded into a trailer and stable. Job well done.
Aww a couple inches we got over a foot last week in northeast Pennsylvania but we don’t have the sub zero temps you get this early in the year
Gates look great!❤
I know nothing about cold weather... why do you throw the ice out of the trough? Sending lots of love 💕 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷
The cows can't get to the water underneath until you break the ice in top.
Cows wondered off for breakfast at your local Howard Johnsons
Ah, winter water managment. A full time job in of itself. Only have to do that in Western OR one week out of the year.
Have you considered installing a tall post with a 3 or 4 hundred watt solar panel with a heater coil to put in the water bin?
Nice 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Nice set up Dave, the cold weather is always an obstacle it seems but you always work around it. Nice gate setup.
Winter Wonderland!
Sumtimes just need a longer spark plug but not to Long dont want cylinder to hit plug when it fires.
Did you use a chain saw to slice off part of the far post to give enough clearance for the panel to fit between the posts?
No
@dianeengel4155 Drawknife? 😉😊
❤❤❤
Dave I thought you were using the big tank inside the structure for winter watering. Did something happen and I missed it?
It's been warm enough we've been able to use the other tank.

The steer is going to the butcher soon. We have a freezer, and our son,who we will share with,
has one, too.
You make me cold😅

Hey Dave, what is the depth of the frost line up there?
6 feet
Any chance you could add a little salt to the water? Animals like to use salt licks???

He only likes to use that when he has to.
😄👍 Brrrrrrr

🥶🥶👍👍
Im curious why not drill a well on the property instead of hauling water seems like it would save time and money in the long run
The water has methane in it, and it's 300 ft to even find it.
@dianeengel4155 wow that's disappointing
Y u keep ur 18 wheel in idle.
😏

+ 🍟 Was wondering, if the whole world's ppl was; or became vegetarian; how different things would be ?! 🎉
As Rodney said, a truck is a lot like a woman, on a cold, cold winter morning, they won't turn over for you.
That’s funny, right there.
