This is one of the reasons why _Wind Waker_ is such a magnificent game. Medli is a side character but this scene is still very powerful emotionally, and she and Laruto have more of a connection than Link and Zelda in many games (like TP). Laruto was violently killed but her gentle harp playing makes death seem like something not to be afraid of, and that there is still renewal even after loss. A rare, beautiful scene of adult with child.
If you didn't cry here...the passing of torch- the violent murder of Laruto, the realization that Zoras became/evolved into Rito. It's like seeing your dead friend be reborn in a new person, basically what people who knew the previous Avatar feel when the Avatar is reborn in the Nickelodeon cartoon.
How can you not love Medli as a character? She is so humble and sweet. Not to mention Adorable with her slight insecurities of wondering if she’s good enough to live up to the legacy before her
I do love Medli, but the Rito honestly got better character development in Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom (it doesn't hurt that Revali is one of my personal favorite characters from Breath of the Wild, because his personality is so unlike anyone else in any Zelda game ever).
RyanPlays I didn’t play Wind Waker until October of 2015 when I got it for my birthday. And I’m gonna be honest, I really don’t see it. I really don’t see how this can be the best Zelda game ever made.
This song and scene literally made me tear up. I was 6 when this game came out and hearing this and watching this scene again made me realize how many amazing memories I had chained to this game.
This scene is the reason I grew to love music. It was so magical. Everything about this just made me appreciate music and video games soooooo much more when I was a little kid.
I am beating the game for the very first time right now and I got tears in my eyes. This scene is so beautiful and the music is so touching. Such a cute game with wonderful music :D
It still reduces me to tears just like it did back then. It's feels like innocence changing into wisdom. Something is gained but something is lost forever. Necessary but regretful.
Looks the same to me as well except much better graphicly and its still one of the most emotional scenes in the game next to the ending at least for me anyway
Man, the first time I saw and listened to this cutscene it brought me a little to tears... the music is so emotional and then having Medli part of the cutscene (she's one of my favorite Zelda characters ever).. damn, just pure perfection
i think.... i finally understand why both the Sages of the Earth Temple were those of ppl who resided in the Waters of Hyrule, and the ppl who could take themselves to the great sky above
- Skippable Intro - Some faster animations (Grapple hook for example) - Increased Beginning Wallet from 200 to 500 rupees - Improved textures - First Person Shooting with Bow - Faster inventory management I honestly don't see how you guys say "small things". All these mistakes from the game have been corrected, improved, for a better experience. Could they have added more? Yes. Would that take time out of a new Zelda for the Wii U? Yes. That's why they didn't.
Well the good Zoras were a fresh water species while the salt water Zoras were the bad guys. The water isn't the main thing in Wind Waker, in fact it's the bad thing. The great flood, the deluge, the fact that all the islands are small and sparse. Wind Waker is about the wind deities and it makes perfect sense that the peaceful Zoras established dominance of the skies after the great flood.
Omg i forget her name and I remember crying when she had to stay behind in the temple I was like no you must come back to the surface your job is done you can’t😭😭😭😭😭
Anyone else find it weird that the Zoras evolved into rito therefore adapted to living out of water even though the world in this timeline is mainly covered in ocean, while in the child timeline the zora remained zora..
Dang. I had forgotten how important a part music and musical instruments played in prior Zelda titles. They were somewhat key in bringing richness to the stories, and I would love for Nintendo bring instrument mechanics back to the franchise.
For me the best zelda game ever to this day cant believe nintendo still dont port this masterpiece to nintendo switch c mon nintendo the waiting is killing me
I now I totally forgot about this song being so great and also just forgot about the whole thing. I didn't expect to get the feels after the first notes
So when this game came out I was like hMmMmmMm (I forget) I remember I used to love it so much...but the. Forgot about it over time. AND NOW I FOUND IT AGAIN AND IVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY IN MY LIFEIEEEE
Out of all the cutscenes in Wind Waker this one is my favorite.
The cutscene where the little plant guy tells you to go while he stays made me sad, not gonna lie lol
czure94 you mean Makar?
Same
I shed a tear when the Zora started playing.
I Always found IT creepy... Probably because of The black Background and The Out of The blue appearance of The triforce

Ashanark p No
How did Laruto die
Woah, I never really looked at it like that!
Kasumi shits brutal
@@temp1326 Ganondorf killed her so that the Master Sword would lose it's power.
It's like a mother watching and teaching her daughter how to play her song and wouldn't have it any other way

I love medli. She was always the great sea's greatest embassador. Her playing with makar at the games opening is so fitting.
I love this scene. Seeing it for the first time brought me the chills.
Sometimes I like to play this game over and over just so I can hear this
I learned it on my guitar. Playing this everyday.
@@benjamindecker5884 still?
@@wisp1740 Still what?
@@pokeleoantiqua7326 like is he still playing it everyday
I love medli soooo much favorite character
+Luigi Mario I'm glad I wasn't the only one who saw this right after the direct. xD
still your favorite?
This makes me so nostalgic, takes me back to sweeter times.
Still crying :(

When I heard this, I knew:
Time to get Wind Waker.
Did you get it?
You’re like over ten years late
Annika it is never too late to play windwaker, its the best game in the series imo it took the greatness of OOT and made it 10x better
RyanPlays I didn’t play Wind Waker until October of 2015 when I got it for my birthday. And I’m gonna be honest, I really don’t see it. I really don’t see how this can be the best Zelda game ever made.
@@Skalopulton301 then you miss alot of the story and feeling maybe
Laruto is lucky to find herself a very compassionate descendant.
gee this is such a cute scene
Thanks to this adorable looking chicken the Rito became my favourite species in Zelda lore.
This song and scene literally made me tear up. I was 6 when this game came out and hearing this and watching this scene again made me realize how many amazing memories I had chained to this game.
I have no idea why this particular medley always makes me tear up; but it does, every time.
This what it would be like if you played a song with a distance ancestor. They still live on in you.
LOVE THIS SCENE!!!
The triple M: Medli, Midna and Malon...
They are the best characters in their respective games
Returning to hear this, I now remember why Medli is my best Hyrule Warriors character.
Isn't this the most beautiful ost you have ever heard?
The TEARS- WHY DO I HAVE TEARS Dx
so calm...and elegant...
FUCK I GOT SHIVERS FROM THIS
In HD I realized how beautiful and culturally diverse the rito are especially medli are very beautiful idk why but the rito are so beautiful 😍
This scene is the reason I grew to love music. It was so magical. Everything about this just made me appreciate music and video games soooooo much more when I was a little kid.

I guess the Rito are descendants of the Zora in this timeline. Laruto is probably a descendant of Princess Ruto from OOT
I'm pretty sure, given Ruto was already a sage at that point (and rather young too), that she wasn't able to have descendents in the adult timeline.
Does this mean that the rito evolved from Zoras?
Noah Telford-Reed
Yes
And the koroks evolved from the Kokiri
They are just sages not evolutions
Onyx it is explicitly said that they're apart the same bloodline
God of Cringy Memes yes
Onion that is incorrect

This is the one that gives me an emotional feedback.
One of my favorite parts of the game. I love this song.
The most magical moment in the entire game.
I miss zelda games with music as part of the story
Memory is such a strange thing~
Medli made me get a lyre💕 first song I learned was this one.
i think.... i finally understand why both the Sages of the Earth Temple were those of ppl who resided in the Waters of Hyrule, and the ppl who could take themselves to the great sky above
i absolutely love this song so much, i am tempted to make a Lyre just to play this on it (for those that do not know, a Lyre is a handheld harp)
I love Medli! She's so cute! ❤️
These 59 seconds cause me more feelings than the entire BOTW.
Good for you! You want a prize or something?
Watched this a few days ago on my GameCube and shed a tear. What a magnificent game

Wind Waker is such a beautiful game ❤ The art direction is superb and Laruto looks great in WW‘s style - shame she was the only Zora character in it!
This scene makes me cry so much....i think it's because it reminds me of Mikau's death ;w;
This is how you do an HD version.
One problem I have with wind waker is they made the whole game centered around water and boats but they took out the zoras
Well the good Zoras were a fresh water species while the salt water Zoras were the bad guys. The water isn't the main thing in Wind Waker, in fact it's the bad thing. The great flood, the deluge, the fact that all the islands are small and sparse. This is my favorite cutscene in the game
Has anybody else noticed that the music from the title screen is just the Earth God's Lyric followed by the Wind God's Aria?
Pretty obvious
love the lighting in HD and its great in this scene
For me the best zelda game ever to this day cant believe nintendo still dont port this masterpiece to nintendo switch c mon nintendo the waiting is killing me
Alright I’m replaying
I can’t tell you how many times in my life I’ve used this video to calm/ground myself. I’m extremely late, but thank you so very much. 😇
When I was 5, I had a crush on her. Now Im 22, and I still have a crush on her.
Guess who's buying the HD version after work and not doing shit this weekend?
me relaja mucho este video,el primer zelda que jugué y la musica 10/10
Meldi is the best character in the game, I cried watching this scene. I kinda "grew up" with wind waker
I haven’t heard this song in forever ☹️
Love those Ocarina of Time "Temple Of Time" vocals.
I just wanna cry 🥺🥺🥺
dont forget they made sailing a whole lot faster and the triforce quest is shorter
Key words being "how I remember"
I now I totally forgot about this song being so great and also just forgot about the whole thing.
I didn't expect to get the feels after the first notes
I'm an idiot I never realized that the one teaching Medli is a Zora until now
She vibin
Divine beasts. Rudania= Darunia Ruta=Ruto Naboris= Nabooru Medoh= Medli
The only time you see a Zora in the Zelda game about the ocean
amo este juego por las melodias de verdad... es que te dan una paz
Beautiful
Breh I literally teared up from the inside
Makars dungeon should have gone first because this knocks it out of the park
Hi I played zelda and she must for ever in a temple I must cry want a like her 😣😠😤😦😭
It's so crisp and nice owo
she da ✨sAlViA oFfiCiNaLiS✨of earth (Get it? The scientific name for the common sage)

This is the same song as title screen
It's beautiful ❤❤❤
Medli is best rito.
It's strange we don't see any Zora (that I know of) in Wind Waker besides the sage.
Brain rich I Know Right! Even thought the Entire World is Covered in Water!
Kinda late but that's because the Zora had to evolve to the rito. Hence medli having the bloodline of laruto.
Already listed that from my previous comment before the one you replied to. People don't understand the changes if they don't even look into it.
Medli here again
Shame on you one person that disliked
Turn up 🔥☝️
This is the one game I've always wanted to play but don't have anyway to play it
It looks literally the same as how I remember the original version.
This was a watershed moment in the game
I didn’t want to leave medley and makar behind but I know they did what they had to do
