I have read that Rita sued the remaining Wailers out of their royalties. She also sued Bobs half-brother for using the Marley last name. Bob was the only just one, he even paid himself the same amount as his fellow band members. Money ment very little to him.

Amazing work. I recommend for anyone to read Bob's manager (Don Taylor's) book.... really goes into detail about the greed that showed its ugly face during Bob's final days and aftermath.

Did he talk about the beating he got for stealing money from Bob. Bobs mother talks about that in her book.
@@Dreaderthandread-ml1ri Yes he did but he gave a different story to the lead up. One thing I found interesting was he mention how Bob was a very complex man, he was Night and Day. I have a new found respect for Don after reading his book because he didn't make himself out to look like the saint. He did say that Bob late apologize for the incident. Its great book highly recommended

Well well well... I amnot the one to judge. But as we had a similar, family destroying case in our family, my view may vary from other fans. I think that nothing that happened after Bobs passing would have been what Bob wanted. Especially the legal battles between family members, his mother, and the band. No father, no son, would want that.
So... as much as I understand that money was not his primary concern... The wellbeing of his family should have been. And yes... it was predictable that chaos would emerge. Bob, his power, his personality, was the glue that glued seamingly half Jamaica and many families together. No crystal ball is needed to see what would happen without him.
Not writing a will and leave it to the aftermath of his death seems like a poor decision to me. He created a very complicated, widespread family with many kids and wifes, some not entitled to nothing, legally. One can do that, but it would have been, in my view, part of his responsibilities to make sure that the money goes to his family and loved ones, and not to the lawyers that are enforcing (a failing) jamaican or american law with a very limited focus towards their respective clients.

Get your affairs in order no Matter what! We live in a world where rules and regulations are the mainstay of society! Had Bob found a way to organise his affairs without compromising his beliefs, he would have saved his family the stress, animosity and heartache that ensued not to mention money! ❤❤

Then again, there are those who say Bob knew that folks' true character would be revealed in the the way his estate was handled.
I also think money was the last thing on Bob's mind, generally, but especially in his final months.

This is the thing when someone dies, people's true nature and intent comes to the surface. Imagine trying to get his mum evicted from the house Bob bought for her, disgraceful. That's why wills are very important. It makes sure your wishes are granted not all family members deserve something. Let this be a sign to anyone reading this, have a will drawn up.
You are so right he should have protect is family how he did not do that he did not love them by law is legal wife and is kids is entitled to is Estate that's why the court award is wife to get the Estate
@@faygayle9505 She's was very lucky. If that was in the UK all of his relatives would have been entitled to some of his estate. I've made sure my will is in place because I don't know when I'm going to kick the bucket. I want to make sure the correct people inherit.
