New Zealand provided the big jump for us during the Pacific War.
My Grandfather fought in the NZ 3rd Division alongside Americans in the Solomon Islands during WW2. Thankyou USA WW2 veterans. Arohanui.

Being a NZer awfully sad about the capsized boat, may they rest in peace.
Big thanks to the Marines. Least we forget.
My Dad was in the engineer battalion that built those camps
Interesting. My father in law was in charge of the whole project and was definitely your father's boss.
New Zealand and America shall always be allies and friends and I have great respect for the US and I always will.
A glimpse of USMC interaction with NZers is given with the book 'Not Just Ordinary Blokes.'
Lest we forget our American brothers in arms, from a WWII descendant from Gisborne
NZ men were fighting in Europe and Egypt. The US helped protect us from the Japanese. Our men also fought in the Pacific later on in the war. Thank you USA. I hope all the wars going on at the moment end soon.
The NZ were fighting in Cyrenaica too.
Never heard about this. awesome.
My whole family was involved with this "friendly invasion". My father in law was in charge of building the facilities for the Americans. My father was friends with many of the Marines. He was back home in New Zealand after being seriously wounded, losing his eye in battle. Dad mentioned that many Americans were killed in training exercises in New Zealand. They used live ammunition in the training.

I aways wonder how would the Pacific theater play out if new Zealand didnt stay neutral and refuse our base of operations.
