First I thought they so ingenious, that they hide a QR code in ever picture perhaps only in embossed Part, than I read with Green screen. By way I found no good free one for Android what I use and would pay very much. But found one woodblock prints subscript page the picture of one Yokai print where if one show his real face on mobile phone picture. That would an interesting App. :)
I honestly had to check to make sure it's not April 1st because this so so majorly cool that I thought it was a prank. There's no way this is real. It's just way to damn amazingly cool!!!
Just subscribed to the Japan Journeys series, and I am so looking forward to receiving my prints over the coming months. I never fully appreciated the beauty and artistry that goes into these prints - I think I, like others, have always mistaken them for very pretty watercolors. But to know that these all come from hand carved blocks of wood, printed layer by layer also by hand was such a revelation to me. I’m very grateful for these videos, and especially how beautifully done and insightful they are.
Amazing! They're so good you can even HEAR them. I had no idea this was even physically possible. I wonder what kind of easter egg we'll see in the octopus print...
So much fun! You know, it's no lie -- when I look at images that have a story behind them, I see so much more than the image in front of me. Thanks, Dave, for pointing this out in a lighthearted way!
Oh Lordy I love this. I have just spent two days explaining to my kids not only about your work (and how you came to start on the road to print making excellence) but also that of the 'Skagen' group of artists in Denmark, and how different techniques, and different 'environments' produce 'different' works of art. This will really work on them, it has certainly 'worked' on me! Are there particular print sets this works on, or have you enabled your entire catalogue? I have a plain white walled hallway that needs 'something', and this could be it.
WTF!?!?!? THAT IS THE COOLEST, MOST CREATIVE, MOST AMAZING INTERSECTION OF ART AND TECHNOLOGY I'VE EVER SEEN!!! PLEASE ADVERTISE THIS AS A MAIN SELLING POINT. EXCEPTIONALLY ORIGINAL!!!🤩🤩
Hey Dave great video! You always talk about where you are in the shop at the beginning of the video, and its really hard for me to get a good visual of what the store and workshop looks like. It might be interesting as a future video idea to record some video of walking through the shop, giving commentary and, getting a good layout of the place. This is so viewers can visualize the settings of your videos. Thanks! Have a great day :)
All these all amazing! I love video games. I'm actually writing one myself at the moment. I'd love to see more of these Augmented Reality Art Print Pieces. As for which, a few examples are - Dark souls 1-3, Bloodborne, Shadow of The Colossus, Persona 5, Halo, Assassin's Creed, Mortal Kombat and Cyber Punk
Funny short video, surprised me, thought you were going to show some embossing or color variation or something under a different light , (oh, and i couldn’t help noticing that’s not mascot Fridge the owl on the counter behind you.)
Hi David The third picture is of Chun Li fighting M.Bison in the game hugely popular Street Fighter. Chun Li is on the good guy side. M.Bison is the ultimate boss of the villains. All the characters of the game over the years since 1990 to the present day have their own back story, I think a picture of them all (over 60) would be an awesome collection. The game has been out on Super Nintendo and more recently the Playstion so Sony or Konami Studios must of had their hand in producing these yet left it out of the news for art and gaming fans alike. Art truly is timeless and has no boundaries I think that's pretty cool
I've been on the waiting list for the "Great Wave" for AGES now, without any notification that a new batch is in the works. Should I give up hope, Dave?
interesting approach . i wonder how d.bulls .. journey.. would appear in wood printing technique. maybe that kind of material you watch very long and calm.
Coming ... coming ... our 'lazy' summer (all the few days of it that we had) is now over, and we are all flooded with work here. Next video is coming in a couple of days, and the Eight Cats 'update' page will also be updated later this afternoon ...
first thing i thought when i saw that print he showed was "huh, that looks alot like a chocobo and a moogle... thats preety cool!" little did i know there was a whole chocobo riding lalafell inside it too
There is a box that size here: mokuhankan.com/subscriptions/chibi_heroes.html Send an email over to us at info@mokuhankan.com and we can help you get a box to use for the Patreon Chibi prints. :)
Haha, great idea. :-) Could you maybe provide some links in the video description to some suitable Android apps that could do this? The Google Playstore really is a cesspool making it hard to find the good stuff.
David Bull fills the Bob Ross hole in my heart.
He really does!
He has given me a new respect for the wonderful craftsmen keeping the art of woodblock printmaking alive.
😭
Accurate
same LOL bob ross of japan
Augmented Reality Ukiyo-e prints, now that's a true fusion of old and new. And freaking genius!
well time for an app.
Underneath the underneath?
I’m going be honest, now I just want a video on REAL easter eggs hidden in historical prints!

Appreciate that little sound effect David made when he turned on his iPad.
A human simulating a computer simulating a mechanical camera's 'click'.
I honestly had to check to make sure it's not April 1st because this so so majorly cool that I thought it was a prank. There's no way this is real. It's just way to damn amazingly cool!!!
I did too!! Very surprising. :)
lol I checked as well.
Simple green magenta whatever screen. Been around for scores.
B Lin - Still fun 🙂
You should try designing a print series based on the 16 colossi from Shadow Of The Colossus
Now this is epic
Oh yes. This would be amazing.
That would be amazing
I bet some collectors would do the Fry-meme. And I think some of the colossi designs would be great in wood carving.
god you're killing me rn. that would be such a cool idea.
This was the best little video to watch before heading off to bed. I love the work you do here, Dave.
4:51 - "Fight, Fight, Fight"
This brings me back sandwich breath memories
Did anyone tell you, you might have a little bit of a lid lag
Maybe you should putapitopaper on it.
I feel genuinely so blessed to have found your channel.
no idea why this was in my recommended, but im happy it was
Beautifully relaxing and a beautiful art, that can't be denied. Getting those Bob Ross Vibes here.
Oh Dave, I do so love your videos and especially your enthusiasm!

❤️ You're the best David! Your work is amazing! 🖤
Amazing! They're so good you can even HEAR them. I had no idea this was even physically possible.
I wonder what kind of easter egg we'll see in the octopus print...
O-O
You should do a shop tour video!
Wow! Cool fusion with new technologies and classic art!
This was so hilarious and unexpected - this was a genius idea by whoever came with it haha
So much fun! You know, it's no lie -- when I look at images that have a story behind them, I see so much more than the image in front of me. Thanks, Dave, for pointing this out in a lighthearted way!
Fun way to showcase your products haha.
Really interesting. The fact that is wasn't talked about much makes it even more surprising. Cool idea!!

HELP! I fell through the window in my Ganondorf print and now I got a pissed off magical boar chasing me around! Save me
Wow, woodblock prints really are like magic!
this is the kind of content I love. Mr. Bull your enthusiasm is so wholesome, you made my day.
WTF!?!?!? THAT IS THE COOLEST, MOST CREATIVE, MOST AMAZING INTERSECTION OF ART AND TECHNOLOGY I'VE EVER SEEN!!! PLEASE ADVERTISE THIS AS A MAIN SELLING POINT. EXCEPTIONALLY ORIGINAL!!!🤩🤩
Thank you for the awesome experience in your printshop today, and for the three amazing prints I get to take back to Australia! 🙏
When I visit Japan I’m so going to see your shop David, love your work 🤩
Hey Dave , how about making video with tour of your shop?
Dave's clearly been spending a deal of time on Twitch. Welcome to the club.
Bless you, Mr. Bull!
That is really cool to see, mixing the traditional old style with the future, really beautiful 💞
This is incredible David. Beautiful work
As a current FFXIV player, that was a pleasant surprise.
AzureKite619 - of all the things I thought would endure through final fantasy, I really didn’t think the chocobo would feature!

Final Fantasy, Splatton and Street Fighter.
Cool! :D
YEEEESSSSSS!!!! When you post new videos it's always the best part of my day.
I gotta get an augmented reality app to see how many secrets artists have left on the landscape, billboards and old pieces in museums
David, you should get in contact with Digital Extremes and see about a collaboration. A series of Warframe-themed Ukiyo-e prints would be awesome!
!!!
Thank you doing the contest btw Dave, while my print ideas didn't get picked, i'm still very excited to look at the series when it comes out ^-^
This was a fun video Dave. Cheers!
Would absolutely love to go for a pint with Dave Bull.
I absolutly love this
I love it! Very genius.
Awesome, got here as it was uploaded.
id love to come see your shop some day
I really enjoyed this! What a thing to wake up to.
How can one man just be so Wholesome?
David Bull's mind...just exploded😁👍✌️
Damn it David, you once again made my day! Much love ❤

Can we have a shop tour relaxing video please?!
This is unexpected and amazing.
What in the world, this is amazing!
Wow I've been watching your videos and wow amazing
Funny short video, surprised me, thought you were going to show some embossing or color variation or something under a different light , (oh, and i couldn’t help noticing that’s not mascot Fridge the owl on the counter behind you.)
Love the video, but just wanted to let you know that I prefer the longer format!
If Tom Bombadil was ever included in a live action version of Lord of the Rings, David would be the perfect fit.
I was expecting that Overwatch print (Genji + Hanzo) to also show gameplay.
Very cool topic.
Hi David

Great video! 'Fight fight fight' That was Chun-Li vs M. Bison
Nice video
Fascinating! Thank you for sharing this interesting and concealed dynamic potential of traditional art mating with the technology of new ideas.
interesting approach . i wonder how d.bulls .. journey.. would appear in wood printing technique. maybe that kind of material you watch very long and calm.
That squid print is just gorgeous
I really want to meet David some day.
I really hope I'll one day I can afford one of these subscriptions.
when comes the next video? cant wait any more... how goes the NekoH project? any summary?
Coming ... coming ... our 'lazy' summer (all the few days of it that we had) is now over, and we are all flooded with work here. Next video is coming in a couple of days, and the Eight Cats 'update' page will also be updated later this afternoon ...
Awesome stuff!
first thing i thought when i saw that print he showed was "huh, that looks alot like a chocobo and a moogle... thats preety cool!"
little did i know there was a whole chocobo riding lalafell inside it too
You're such an interesting person
This is a good day😁
After seeing the first one, I got scared on the second one. Japan + Squid + AR = Unspoken horrors UwU
Its Splatoon from Nintendo
Ahhh, a window into the Final Fantasy XIV world! That's amazing!
Nice ringlets.
How was it like finding fire for the first time?
I want David Bull to play all of these games
I'd like to imagine Dave is actually really good at street fighter and just folds randos online like nothing.
What if you can implement the same type of technology towards regular prints and making the background come to life with the theme of the print.
Hey Dave, will you be making any more story time videos? Like the one with Ito san! They’re great
What was the first game? Was it Final Fantasy?
That's awesome
This is what my house looks like, but with way more Iga/Shigaraki pottery here lol .....Is that Hachiko?
Hi David! I was looking to purchase one of those storage/display boxes for my patreon chibi prints, are they available? Thank you :)
There is a box that size here: mokuhankan.com/subscriptions/chibi_heroes.html Send an email over to us at info@mokuhankan.com and we can help you get a box to use for the Patreon Chibi prints. :)
he reminds me of Tolfdir from skyrim.
Pale Pigeon yessssssss!!
He just needs the robes!
Caught me, that got a laugh!
Can I still buy the squid print?
Yes, that series is still _very_ popular: mokuhankan.com/subscriptions/portraits.html
The term for this is Augmented Reality.
Haha, great idea. :-)
Could you maybe provide some links in the video description to some suitable Android apps that could do this? The Google Playstore really is a cesspool making it hard to find the good stuff.
I don't have any Android devices here, so I have no way to know this, I'm sorry ...
@@seseragistudio Oh no problem, I think I will take some time tomorrow to look into it. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Chale, este señor tiene más cabello que yo, y no llego ni a los 18, en fin, gran vídeo.
This dude is my god
I want the Splatoon one!
Careful capcom doesnt try to claim your products.
True dad mode.
That scroll. Soon...very, very soon.
and reading the blog and website with the stories of daily pain and ambivalence .. pictures of daily life in tokio ..should be relevant ..
I was like wow that looks like a mog and choco, then he shows a video of riding a chocobo...well then.
Maybe it's possible to put QR codes in the prints themselves?
Yep. Customized QR codes. This looks fantastic.
Chocobo!
