Shout out to their drummer. People should pay attention to this drum machine in flesh. I've been blown away since heal/heel and still am. He's concrete
Never before have I seen a band knowing so little about them (2 songs), have I come away so converted, enthralled and stunned by a band. That was IDLES at Glastonbury 22. I am so glad I saw them. I am 48, made me feel 18. They are sooo good.
Ha. I had the same thing. Never heard of them until they played at Truck Festival in 2019 and the noise they were making just smacked me across the face and dragged me by my collar toward the stage. Incredible band. Oh and I’m 41 😄
Think of the most passionate vocalist, the most badass bassist , the proudest drummer and 2 headcase guitarists and what do you get ... Fucking idles . Unbelievable !!
The boys absolutely nailed that set. Best of the weekend, without a doubt. That opening - from the minute he walked out with that bottle of Bucky, to the end of Colossus, was just off the charts. Immense!🙌
Just seen and heard this lot for the first time today. 50 year old ex punk and loving it man. That’s fucking old Skool stage presence right there and a guitar and vocal sound that’s as dark as a ravens wing. Melody ti die for as well. Will defo be investigating further.
yeah first time here myself . blown away guitar sound 👊 not the same ole metal guitar sound and the drummers a fucking animal . Best band around right now for sure .
Viagra Boys are well worth checking out. Brilliant live and the lead singer seems like a genuine throwback to the punk era with his not giving a shit attitude. 'Aint Nice' and 'Sports' are a great place to start.
@@oldskoolpaul89 They’ve managed to capture anxiety in guitar riffs, it’s mental aright. I cant get over how melodic angry vocals can be. Somebody at work seen them at Barrowlands in Glasgow and said they were epic.
No such thing as ex punk, friend. That you'll carry in your blood til u die, brother, has nothing to do with age, picket fence or ergonomic office chairs. Just the music and what we Cubans call "Bomba", which is passion. Big embrace
The best british band around at the moment. The performance was full of energy & power. They are criminally underated. The billing that they were below St Vincent and Foals was a joke. Hopefully back headlining the Pyramid next time 🤞

What a band. Big shout from America. Loving Idles and other Bristol music acts like Massive Attack, Portishead, Roni Size, Kosheen,Tricky, Krust, Allflaws
Here after seeing their name on Glasto lineup this year. Never heard about them before. My question is why Glasto don't put this band as the headliner on main stage? There are two pop acts already. Nothing against them but I think it needs one true rock band to make it balance lmao!
These fellas must surely own the entire NoMeansNo Alternative Tentacles back catalogue, great to finally have some proper intelligent kick arse music back in the world.
At 55 I had given up any idea of a current band being able to impress me however after witnessing this performance I purchased everything with Idles printed on it,just when you think it’s over ! 🙏🏻
same here ... for some reason I missed Idles in these years .. catching up fast (bought 3 out of four records). Ready to take a plane to go to see them :)
Unfortunately the rumours so far for next year are, Spice girls, One Direction, Elton John and Beyonce.. I wish I was joking but that's what's being quoted. Apart from moments of glory like this, Glastonbury is becoming a bloated V fest.. Substituting genuine bands for pop is going to destroy the very thing that made Glastonbury special
Had heard their tracks on the radio but hadn't seen them live before. Watching Glasto on TV, this was the set of the festival for me - so powerful, and you can tell they truly believe the messages they are singing about. One hell of a band.
The drummer...not only a beast, he will do your taxes for a reasonable price
I just knew it! That's Dave from accounting! "Family emergency", he said as he called in to say he wouldn't be at work for a few days. Huh.
LMAO!
😂😂😜
😂😂😂
😂
Nothing better than a band that always plays like it's their last gig, it's what makes these guys stand out
Way it should be! If you get too Comfortable then it Shows 💯%!
I reckon they'd play like that in my back garden. I wouldn't sell tickets either. Fucking free for everyone
Fits their brand, not every

Somehow you guys have passed me by until now, but this set was an absolute banger and I'm making up for lost time.
