@@gato0082 growing up I never liked Brooke Shields. Then I was in a waiting room and I read an article about her. Brooke is actually a pretty good person. I didn't know how bad her mother was and how good Brooke actually turned out.

I rewatched Manhattan a couple of years ago. I was not only creeped out by the movie, I was creeped out by the fact that anyone, including myself ever thought this movie was anything but garbage. Of course, when it came out originally I was the same age as her and now I am older and raised three daughters.

There was a storyline with a girl I think she was 18 could have been 17 having an affair with her college professor. I'm guessing he was about 35 /40. It wasn't looked on as that's terrible. The 70s were different than now. When you look at old movies from the 40s and 50s there is young women 20 years old getting married to 45 year old men. I can remember watching those old movies and always thinking that's gross he's old

Hi Age of Vintage, how are you going? What a tragic & tumultuous background has always been surrounded by the Hemingway dynasty. Poor Mariel finding out later in life her Grandfather the esteemed novelist Ernest Hemingway, commited suicide 4 month's before she was born. Depression & Mental health issues ran heavily throughout this family. Her sister Margaux Hemingway committed suicide at the age of 42. She had serious issues with depression & alcohol abuse. She had also succumbed to drug addiction & died from an overdose of phenobarbital. Mariel's highest profile role was in Woody Allen's film Manhattan, where she played a high school student opposite Woody Allen's character. She talks about her role in Manhattan in one of her books she wrote later in life, saying how terrified she was of the kissing scene with Woody Allen, as at the time of filming she was only 16 & had never kissed a man before. She suffered her own mental health problems, as she was still plagued by her sister's suicide. She is now a mental health activist, who frequently speaks at seminars on how to overcome depression & suicidal tendencies. This was very interesting. We vacation in Key West during the winter and one of my favorite places to hang out on the island is the Ernest Hemingway House and Museum. I've always been interested in Ernest Hemingway's life but I never really knew any details about his grandkids, or extended family after his death.

Mariel, is the very embodiment of her grandfather, she has all his features, height, eyes, as well as, his slender form. She is also, very creative in her thinking. I am happy she was strong enough to go through without harming herself. She has single handle change the family dynamics. What a gift to leave with children, the knowledge to seek help, when hurting.💕💕👏🏾👏🏾 We must come to understand Mental Well Being.

Hi Age. I hope you’re doing well. I admit I got disappointed when I saw Mariel instead of Margaux on the thumbnail but it’s ok. I found this video interesting. Margaux didn’t have a big filmography with significant films except Lipstick,(a cult film that I love and never get tired of watching), and that’s also why I think you didn’t make a video about her. This family's dynasty fascinates me. Margaux briefly met her famous grand-father and she was obsessed with him & his destiny. And sadly ended like him. Mariel was very close of her mother that she admired endlessly. I always felt that she was a bit jealous of her older sister, Margaux but maybe I’m wrong, it’s just a personal opinion. And at the same time Margaux got insecure cause Mariel had the bigger career and then developped addictions & depression. She used to go at Studio's 54 aka Sodome & Gomorra 's dancefloor. I do think that trauma had a lot to do with all the suicides. A domino effect if ever there was one.

@@jenneacubero1036 No there isn’t a recording for Margeaux that says she hated Muriel. But there is a recording where she says that they are estranged. it was in the mid 80s. Estranged because they were both competing for fame. To me Margeaux was the classier one and she was more fun more carefree free spirited etc.
