I definitely enjoy the MPC workflow as well. For years, the MPC2000xl and 3000 were the backbone of my studio. The Force is just very different, and getting better all the time. Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much! Wow, that's high praise, lol. I cut my teeth on Edgar Froese and crew, and definitely Klaus Schulze. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. :)
I am now rehearsing my live set using Force. Finally had some time to prepare samples/template on the Force and step from using ESX. It has so much more to offer. If I have an idea of something, Force probably has that already. In terms of performance options and macro mapping Force is very flexible. The only thing that I am really missing is the ribbon controlled arpeggiator. It was working on MIDI level, but Force kinda does that, but not as convenient. I created workaround with macro applied to stutter, but its not the same.
I absolutely agree. There are definitely limitations that could be addressed.. program changes for plugins per scene, tempo automation, LFO sync, fix the looper, resampling and more. But it's getting there, slowly but surely, and sounds AMAZING. The Automation Snapshot feature is a huge step forward. Thanks for watching!
@@danieklerr Yes, I agree. Almost everybody asks Akai to "replicate" Ableton Live, but if we will take a look at the history of Ableton, it was also developed gradually, becoming more or less stable and sophisticated on version 9. It took 12 years for Ableton to get there :) In Akai world things are happening much faster as I see. Force is out since 2019, and its 4 years since release. Force had awesome changes, so I hope we will see more of them in future.
Selling mine. Cant do a gig with it because tempo / time signature automation per scene is not possible. Audience waiting 40seconds between loading song projects ain’t going to work. And i am not buying two! 😂
I understand. When I play live, I keep mine slaved to another device, which allows for tempo changes. There have been crashes in the studio doing this, so if the tempo change is drastic I will actually stop the sequencer while a sample plays out and drop the next pattern (new BPM) at the appropriate time. Anyway, godspeed in whatever you choose in the future! Thank you for watching. :)
@@danieklerr would absolutely love to see that! I love your music and have been struggling with mastering the force. Thanks for sharing your skills with us!
Very cool. I kind of wish novation would give us a circuit with a screen and more in box controls. A circuit pro maybe. This video makes the force seem a lot more tempting to me though for sure.

Great tip on sampling higher notes for maintaining length and quality. I’d never considered that! Edit: I’d also never considered using subgroups, seems like an ideal solution to a problem I’ve just run into using my iPad as an external effect’s processor. This video is a gold mine!

Yep. To be frank, the Force wasn't worth the price for the first six months I owned it, but the most recent updates sussed all the stability issues. Some new performance options were added (or improved), and it's a new machine. I love it. Thanks for watching. :)

Hello.. I've uploaded two more videos after this, about how to create the template and how to set up sub groups. Check them out, and let me know how I can help you get moving in the right direction! Thank you for watching. :)
I explain this process in an earlier video on my channel called "Akai Force Tutorial 1: Getting Started And Making A Template Project .. SnowMetal 2022". I've definitely learned a lot since then, but that video will definitely get you started with the template I use, if you search for it. Thanks again for watching!
I'm actually really attracted to Machine+, just because of NI Komplete integration, particularly Massive and Reaktor. Yes, of course VST support would be a crucial upgrade for any of these machines. Almost a decade ago, I had an Akai APC40, for which I'd built a new chassis containing a quad-core PC and audio and MIDI i/o, running Live 8. This wasn't DAWless, because I had to connect a keyboard and mouse to build sets, but it was incredible to just set up my standalone controller and plug and play. I'm building a new one soon, with upgraded specs. Thanks for watching!
How does this prove Force s intuitive? it’s literally 20 mins of you pressing buttons with no idea of what your doing leading to something I could get with a synth an a drum machine in around 2 mins. I honestly dont understand advantage of the force. You played a drum beat synced to an arpeggiator with a base line. Honestly a MIDI cable 2 little synths … maybe even less if I’d already plugged it MIDI cable first in 30 seconds. And the whole lot would be cheaper than the Force.
The title doesn't only say the Force is intuitive. It says the Force is intuitive NOW. I spent many videos trashing on the Force, and I wanted to address how the updates have sweetened the workflow and stability. Anyway, the "synths" are samples, loaded from the hard drive as needed, with the ability to audition before loading. For me, this is very intuitive! Also, the drums are also samples, loaded in the same manner. Furthermore, I didn't use an arpeggiator at all, but played the notes by hand. The layout for note creation is very intuitive. In the first portion of the video, I described for Force users how I route subgroups, which is impossible on the 2-synth/drum machine setup you described. If you're not a Force user, I can understand how it's all gibberish. In the last portion of the video, I demonstrate the launching of clips (basically impossible on any other hardware device, especially when this video came out) and using the touch-knobs to send parts to various effects in realtime. I have yet to see this accomplished on any other device. Thank you for watching!
